Fuck Your Dead ParentsDiscarded from birth, forgotten by your own parents, raised by a fanatically religious hag, regularly bullied and beaten by fellow students, completely friendless, utterly isolated, your peers and strangers thinking you a total freak because of your appearance, staying the fuck away and always whispering about you, disallowed a normal childhood, physically abused at a place that's barely constitutes a real "home," a situation so bad that even the animals attack you.
Yo Brucie, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but...yeah, I'm sorry, you can go wipe your sodding tears with your rich daddy's money and suck a fat one.
Because Jonathan Crane has one of the most depressing, justifiably upsetting backstories and childhoods of all time.
Now, very, very rarely (if ever) do I consider fictional characters, let alone certain villains, as "poor babies," but seriously

Indications of a SueIs your OC a Mary Sue? *derp*Indications of a Sue2 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Here's a few simple rules to find out.
* Am I scrolling for 3 hours your Artist's comments about your character? If you write a novel about your character in the description then yes, your character may be a sue. (Or if I have to do 3 complete scrolls before I get to the Artist's Comments). [Note this doesn't mean that you cannot have a long storyline for your character, only that you shouldn't feel compelled to type their life story every time you submit it. If people are interested in your character, they will ask! Then you can type to your heart's delight!]
* Do they annoy other people in a roleplay? Are other people suddenly backing out of roleplays with you and hesitant to start another/continue?
[note: I added this since one person I know had a Stu and everyone dreaded to roleplay with a character who killed theirs for little reason...but this also goes into RolePlay Etiquette.]
* Everything in nature is deliberate. Are your characters given un
Breaking News: Skinny people actually existI've wanted to get this off my chest for a while, and I'm going to say that, at this point, I grow deathly tired of people attacking others for being "skinny" and acting as though being "skinny" is a loathsome or subhuman thing to be. Turns out, it's not. A lot of people are naturally skinny, myself included, and I think it's nothing short of a load of BS when people try to act like "lol real men have meat and women have curves why do you go for bones when you could have a piece of this hurrhurr." Having a preference is fine, it's okay for some people to prefer different body shapes, but when you start elevating yourself and talking down or insisting someone of a smaller size is comparable to "bones" or something "only dogs would want," you look like a shallow fucking douche.Breaking News: Skinny people actually exist2 years ago in Personal More Like This
And I've seen a number of people campaign for things like, "say no to size zero" and then following up with something like, "some girls are big and some are small and some are size zero and some aren
pokemon is still pretty much the same shitWhen it comes to reboots, remakes, and new installments I can go either way depending on how they're done. Sometimes I think reboots or new installments are utter garbage or just fucking stupid compared to their predecessors (or just COMPLETELY deviate from their roots to the point of not being recognizable), other times I think they're pretty alright (or, in some few cases, even better).pokemon is still pretty much the same shit2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But seriously, despite the fact people still complain about how we "shouldn't" have added anything to the original 150 pokemon, I'm gonna be honest and say that I think it would have been a downright waste to have that entire expanse of pokemon lore and universe with every new game containing the same zubats, geodudes, and pikachus over and over an over. I've seen people say things like, "this is dumb, let's just make new regions but with the same pokemon" but seriously? I don't want to buy and play different games in different lands just so I can catch the same shit that I own in every other p
one of the most disappointing things everto happen in a series:one of the most disappointing things ever2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1) You get very high expectations for a character and anticipate nothing less than utter badassery and coolitude from said character only for the character to actually turn out to be shitty and lame to the point where you actually end up wanting them to get killed off as opposed to rooting for them. All your expectations of this character ever being the badass you thought they were and would be are irreparably dashed to the ground.
2) The character in question starts out as the coolest person in the series and one of your absolute favorites before gradually becoming lamer and lamer and more contradictory as the series progresses to the point where you end up just hating that same character more than anyone else in the series.
The worst feelings.
Edit: This isn't referring to a specific series, I just mean in general when it happens.
My Top Ten Gaming Villains List Part 1Every has a list of favorite baddies, right? Sure, why not.My Top Ten Gaming Villains List Part 12 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've seen a number of Top Ten gaming villains lists floating around the web for a while and I felt like sharing my own (keep in mind that I'm not saying this list is written law. It's simply based on personal preference and my reasons behind said preferences, so if you could refrain from "I think so-and-so should be on here" comments, that'd be awesome). Note: Most of these aren't ranked in a particular order and I'm going to have to split this into multiple parts due to sheer length.
1. SHODAN (System Shock)
While I've never had a chance to play System Shock or System Shock 2 (its spiritual successor, Bioshock, is probably the closest I'll ever get), that doesn't lessen the fact that SHODAN is probably one of the scariest and intimidating pieces of fictional artificial intelligence I've ever seen.
As the main antagonist of System Shock and System Shock 2, she serves as a dangerous all-powerful AI with removed et
Reverse Nice Guy SyndromeI'm just going to dub it "Reverse Nice Guy Syndrome" for now because I don't know if there's a proper title for it, but I've noticed that there's a peculiar little bug that hits various people (although certainly not limited to "guys") that causes them to genuinely believe other people (or certain individuals) "owe" them attraction. In short, it's basically like "Nice Guy" syndrome in that it involves a feeling of self-entitlement, but in this case it can sometimes be a somewhat backwards attempt at empowerment in that the "syndrome" causes people to believe that if another person does not feel attracted to them, physically or otherwise, it is automatically the other person's fault entirely, and they are labelled as "shallow" (or an asshole, jerk, bitch, haughty, etc.) simply because they do not have an attraction to or possess a desire to sleep with the "deserving" individual. Like the "Nice Guy," the person always feels like they are the victim in the situation, and in many cases isReverse Nice Guy Syndrome1 year ago in Personal More Like This
A DISNEY PRINCESS FIRSTWhat we're really excited to see is the courageous Princess Merida in Pixar's Brave, who challenges her family and country's customs while wielding a bow and arrow on horseback - now that's a real Disney princess "first."A DISNEY PRINCESS FIRST2 years ago in Personal More Like This
At first I thought this was someone being sarcastic, then I realized it it was something someone actually said.
Don't get me wrong, at some point I'll most likely be seeing Brave myself, and the idea of an animated Pixar film taking place in ancient Scotland is all kinds of neat, but come on. Even when I saw the trailer the whole, "MERIDA THAT IS NOT LADY-LIKE" had me nearly rolling my eyes. I'm really, really hoping the film isn't going to prop itself up on, "there is a young and feisty girl BUT SHE ISN'T LIKE OTHER GIRLS BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO BE A WARRIOR AND DO THINGS ONLY BOYS DO AND EVERYONE THINKS IT'S WRONG BECAUSE IT'S NOT LADY-LIKE BUT BECAUSE SHE'D RATHER
