A Mage's Tale-Epilogue Part 2
King Alistair stood smiling as he looked around at the people gathered in the Assembly Hall. He felt the weight of the crown on his brow but was no longer worried about living up to his father and brother's memory. For the first time in his life, he felt as though he finally found the purpose he never knew he had been searching for. Even though he had found solace during the time he spent training as a Templar and throughout his travels as a Grey Warden, there always seemed to be something missing even if he hadn't realize it at the time. After the crowd continued cheering for several long minutes for their new king, Alistair raised his hands to quiet the jubilant crowd while his eyes searched among them for his fellow warden companion and lover.
"I would now like to ask that the woman who made this day possible to come forward. It was her ability to unite nations to fight as one against the Blight and without her efforts we would

Leila Trevelyan gathered the voluminous skirt in her hands holding it up carefully to keep it from dragging in the dirt as fat wet drops slowly started to fall. She was hurrying as well as she could manage while trying to keep the dress from being ruined before she reached the Keep and without the light of the moon she was having trouble seeing. It had been bad timing that the messenger she had been expecting the past two days to finally show up the night of the masquerade ball being held to honor the visiting dignitaries. Leila had to go down to the Keep's gatehouse to meet with the messenger and the meeting had lasted a long while, long enough for the weather to turn bad and the hour to grow late. The information the woman delivered had troubling news and Leila composed a response to send back with her as well as instructions that were to be carried out. Once the messenger left, the Inquisitor stayed to write two additional messages to relay the informat

Setting: The beginning of Act 3 in Dragon Age 2 after the Arishok is defeated and Hawke is proclaimed the Champion of Kirkwall. Roughly seven years after the defeat of the Blight by my estimations.
Lena Amell could feel the tension as soon as her ship docked in Kirkwall. It was a city with a thin layer barely concealing the violence that lay just beneath the surface. Wearing her Warden Commander armor and carrying a sword and shield, she was let through without a second glance though she noticed all the mages traveling into the city were put to one side for further scrutiny. Had the Templars tested her for magic however, they would have found her to be a mage in spite of her warrior like appearance. Her attire wasn't meant to deceive-she had acquired specialized training as an Arcane Warrior whose practice had been lost to time until she stumbled upon it in a crypt hidden deep in the Brecilian forest. After sh

Anders felt exhausted and the stifling heat of the makeshift clinic wasn't helping to improve his mood. He left the clinic feeling drained. He tugged down his rolled up sleeves not bothering to fasten all the tiny buttons adorning it. His shirt was unbuttoned down the front and rumpled from the hours spent tending to patients. Anders had tended to at least a dozen of Duke Prosper's guests. They were ungrateful prudes who complained and whined the whole time he was mending them; as if he told them to be careless and to stand in close proximity of a fire breathing dragon's cage. He had felt no satisfaction helping those pampered and spoiled simpletons as he did with his patients in his own clinic in Darktown. Duke Prosper had been quick

Varric heard most of what was being said on the other side of the thick oak door. The keyhole was at eye level for him, so as inconspicuously as a dwarf lurking in the Templars' halls could be, he took quick glances every once in a while. He tried to not be obvious with his intentions to any casual observer or passerby. There were certain advantages to being a dwarf; this was just one of them. What little of the conversation he missed, his mind filled in the blanks. As soon as he heard the Knight Captain tell the Warden that Ferelden's king had paid a visit, Varric realized the importance of the news. He would wager good coin that Hawke would be in the middle of whatever was going on at the Viscount's Keep. Trouble found that woman, and Varric wanted to be sure that he and Bianca didn't miss anything. He had to get to the Viscount's Keep as quickly as he could before Hawke arrived and he missed the
