I Believe in HimSomedays I may lose my way.I Believe in Him3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I almost gave up searching for the right path, but he helped me find it again.
I don't believe in myself.
Yet he created me in his imagine so I must be worth something.
I feel alone.
Then I pray to him and even though he doesn't answer in words I feel him in my heart.
I may feel miles away from him.
Yet he is with me everyday.
I was bullied and cried.
I know he was there by my side and made me feel okay.
I'm scared to take a chance.
I know he did wonderful things.
So that means that I can.
Some people tell me he isn't real.
Still I believe and always will.

There will be times of joy and sorrow.
Some days you may wonder if you will make it for tomorrow.
Circumstances may seem to get the best of you.
You wonder if you can make it through.
You may believe the whole world is full of madness.
Some days you may see it full of gladness.
In some countries there's hunger and war.
They wonder if there will ever be more.
He didn't say this life would be easy, but it would be worth it.

What time is it and what day?
What if you could re-live this moment over and over?
What if moments made you forget the world around you?
What if those moments let you be yourself?
What if hours begin to pass by and you don't even care why?
What if for a moment you soul could fly?
Do you get lost in the moment?
Someone's Watching Over MeI know he's out there watching over me.Someone's Watching Over Me3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
His love is constant as the nothern star.
Sometimes I think he is so far away, but when I pray he's listening.
The good thinks in the world are as many as the stars in the night sky.
When I think of the bad things I remember the good.
Every joy in my life leads back to him.
I don't know what my life would be like if he wasn't there.
I'm scared to even think where I could be in life right now if that was true.
How do you know that he's not watching over you?
Cry outPoets find your presence in the fire and the storm.Cry out3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
They seek you in majesty.
They look at mountains and see the ridges of your thumbprint.
They cry your praise when you paint the autumn.
They throw open their hearts to the sun.
They marvel as the cold kernel stirs to life.
But you are in the bitter days as well,
the afternoons so dull I could weep.
You are the maker of anthills as well as mountains,
and the stately wake of the single crackled leaf.
You drew the colour from the sunset and breathed grey fog.
You kill some seeds, barren rocks that litter the ground and will never grow.
You are in despair as well as in triumph -- perhaps
even more, for despair is a magnet for your mercy.
If I look hard, I can see you in linoleum tiles,
in the ugly things squeezed out by human hands.
Even in flicker of acetylene,
you are there.
Break me of my addiction to glory.
Show me your face while my eyes are still open.
Erase the illusions.
Bring mundane peace.
The MarathonThe Marathon3 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
There I stood, thousands upon hundreds of people surrounding me, all of us at the ready for the race to begin. Looking about I predicted that I would keep up with the great mass of all the runners; not winning, but not losing either. I figured I could run at the steady pace that the majority of the runners would keep without a problem and with their presence surrounding me I would feed on the encouragement to keep running forward. The starting gun sounded and we all swarmed through over the line like a stream pouring forward down its path as a length of debris is removed. The fastest runners held themselves in check as the overzealous runners ran forward ahead. And for several miles I trotted along, one foot in front of the other in a steady rhythm.
Suddenly, I stumbled, my rhythm disrupted. It was nothing I told myself as I easily slid
back into the drum that moved the mass forward. I paid no sharp attention to those around
me, focused on keeping up; focused on not causin

"Jason, have you read this case yet?"
My attention was taken off my work of filing papers within a case in my hands, and I looked up to see the receptionist, holding the familiar green of a criminal case over the wooden drawer that separated our desks, face lit with apparent horror of its contents. I sighed, knowing that it may have something I wouldn't want to read, but the receptionist's urging ignited my curious nature.
Putting aside my work, I took the green folder from her hands and began to peer through the contents. It was a newly acquired case, thin and lacking in the common mass of filing from both our hands and the court. Whomever the case was concerning had just retained our services as legal advice, and there within the green file was a letter written from the person to the attorney.
I read the letter, a privilege granted to all that work in the law field, for its contents was confidential and meant only for the eyes of legal workers. Reading cases as a file clerk helped me

David's TrialDavid's Trial3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
The air was filled with the buzz of excitement. It was a new day of departure for another group of spirit children. Today was the day they would descend to the world called Earth and begin their tests to determine their faithfulness in keeping to their Father's commandments. Some were nervous, unsure of what to expect, despite the years of training they had received for this very special day in their lives. Others were excited, eager to begin their tribulations in the temporal world and fulfill their promises to their Father. One spirit child in particular, a man named David, was scared.
The day had come for him to receive his call to Earth, and when he had received it, he was confused from its written words. It stated that he was to be born on the Earth in a special time, and will be given the ability of leadership, where his family, friends and his community would receive the opportunity to serve their fellow brothers and sisters through his guidance. After that passage, it stated

A glorious beacon, in the night
He glows grand
Where the ageless garden blooms
The Lord proclaims a design
For His children's children: Family
Digging through generations
Family trees growing tighter
Through grafting and gathering
And saving souls love grows.
Gazing into eternity
Unchanging Truth and Light received.
Dew distills and knowledge brings joy
Greater understanding gained
Through the Almighty's grand design
The Father's voice calling
A promise of grandeur,
To enter His presence.
That is the joy,
To those who'll enter in:

PJatO - Chapter 1: KeenanMy mouth feels dry and papery when I wake, so I stumble into the bathroom for a glass of water. I take a mouthful and swish it around, passing it from cheek to cheek and squinting blearily at my reflection. When I spit, the water is light gray. "Gray?" He repeats distractedly as he sets a mug in front of me and proceeds to fill it with boiling water. A bit of string peaks out over the rim of the mug and runs down the side, ending in a paper label that boasts the Fortnum and Mason brand.

He frowns. "I'll call the plumber. He can take a look at it while you're at school,"

I see my heavenly father talking to one of my brothers.
I run to meet him.
I forgot how much I have missed his face.
I spent 77 mortal years on earth.
I endured till the end and tried to become like my elder brother Jesus Christ.
The happiness that fills my soul is worth having to face those trials in my life.
I can't even describe the love I feel for my heavenly father.
"Father, I've come back." I whisper.
My heavenly father smiles and opens his loving arms.
I hug him back.
"Well done my good and faithful daughter." He replies, tears of happiness flowing down his cheeks.
I then know everything was worth it.

Where the sun rays lit up so bright
I squinted my eyes in attempt to see you
Just to make sure you were still there
That you were real
Even your silhouette was beautiful
I wanted to say hello,
but before I could,
you took out a needle
and sewed my lips shut
Then you sat close
And told me your life story
As you spoke I closed my eyes
And as I went to open them again
I found my eyelids sewn shut as well
But your soothing voice continued
You spoke of autumn leaves
And the heavenly smells of winter approaching
So I took a deep breath and sniffed the air
But my nose has been sewn;
I bathed in the hum of your voice
All I had left was my ears
I held your hand
A willing victim
Because I knew my ears were the next to go
As your hands slipped away I sat still
"Focus on the birds' songs, my love"
When your voice faded away I knew it had been done
But then I noticed that nothing was different with the sounds
You were just absent from it

The Gift of CharityA woman walked through the street with a sad air surrounding her.The Gift of Charity3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The blizzard was blowing stronger than ever.
Snow twirling and falling.
Last night it had snowed five feet.
She desperately needed something to eat.
She had a baby on the way.
The father she hadn't seen for six months since he left.
Her lips were turning blue.
Her eyelashed frozen.
The cold continued to seep in through her clothing.
Her body was numb.

Worried about getting home.
Suddenly he saw the woman standing alone.
It's Christmas Eve, he thought to himself, no one should be out and about.
He walked towards her with a smile on her face.
He would invite her to dinner with his family.
Her whole face lit up when he asked "Would you please come join my family's Christmas Feast? We have plenty to eat."
Tears rolled down her face.
Its rare to find a good soul in this place.
She replied "Yes, thank you so much. You have given me strength."
He asked "How so?"
