Everything had a price.
She wasn't sure when she first realized this. When the bitter thought had slipped itself into the back of her head as a carefully guided needle to helpless little balloon. It may have been when she was old enough to wobble unsteadily on her own bare feet. Back then, her and her mother had been on some remote planetshe couldn't even remember why or the name of itonly that her mother worked hard. Worked honestly. There were other twi'leks with them and she played often in warm sun and the fresh tilled earth worked by her mother and many others. There was planting. There was singing. There was laughter. Half-formed memories of childhood they were; things that during her darkest hours she would reach out with her minds eye and cradle them to her for comfort.
In the beginning, her mother smiled and laughed too. She could almost remember the way her mothers eyes would crinkle when she did. She remembered her mothers stories of her home pl

Jaws gaping and eyes wide, they crowded around him and begged him the secret of how he tamed it. He laughed and smiled charmingly, telling them even a Knight needed his secrets.

Jahnya often thought that the color of her mother's bruised skin is what the sky might look like if it was cruelly crushed. Part of her mother's beauty, she had always thought, was the traditional head piece that she'd worn before Javoran bought her something new. Something gaudy and studded with fake stones, something flashy and as fake as the life he'd given Jahnya's mother.
The head piece had a thick band of ancient brown hide. Edged in metal that Jahnya imagined the hands of many women of her clan had once touchedstaining it bronze-gold with their fingerprints--a simplistic, elegant center piece of metal rested on the brow. A circle in the middle with two column
DP: Terror Prince Ch. 20Time seemed to freeze when Elijah staggered into the room. Jazz clung to her father tightly as Wulf bared his fangs for a fight, his fur bristling with rage and fear. Elijah moved inside and fumbled over himself as he came closer with the bloody knife. The door shut behind him after he pulled the crystal from the wooden door. His grip on the crystal loosened before falling onto the floor and rolling into a corner, obviously not as important as the blade for the moment.
Danny could see how Elijah was staggering and felt something was wrong. It was just a feeling in his gut but something was just off about him. Even his eyes weren't the same as before. They weren't strategic or cold at all. His eyes seemed to be vibrant and joyful

Dannys heart skipped a beat in piecing all the clues together on his own, and so many things started to jumble through his head at once.
How could this have happened? How could he have been so stupid to let Danielle join in the fight when he knew full well that his future self would make getting rid of her his first priority? Not to mention she had already been exhausted to begin with. Dark Phantom would never have done anything like this to Danny because he needed him alive in order for his existence to have a chance in the first place. Danielle would have been fine if Danny had been allowed to just face his evil self alone.
He started backing away from everyone else as he looked at his cousin in shocked disbelief and saw tears escaping her eyes once again. The eyes that no longer received any light to see the faces of her caring friends and family gathered around her. Yet the same eyes

Elijah got up from the cot he'd been confined to and stretched his limbs, feeling relaxed after getting that burden off his shoulders. He was finally free from his past.
The prince turned toward the voice, seeing it was the halfa's sister again. Jazz came over to him and checked to see if he was feeling a bit better. His cuts healed remarkably well. The deeper gashes from the knives were taking their time to heal but he would be able to walk.

The Next Phantom Chapter 3So, nothing really happened in the first five days here in Amity Park. We just kept on unpacking our boxes and placing them in our rooms. My sister got the room that is said to belong to my younger aunt's while mom and dad both stayed in the extra bedroom in the big UFO thingy. Whenever we stopped and rested, my parents would talk about our lives back at Florida while my grandparents talked about what they did here. I took no interest in being part of the conversation and resided to staying in my room, still unpacking my own stuff. I was able to bring out all my sketchbooks and coloring materials and place them on the now empty shelves. The posters were now taken down by my dad, much to my relief, and my comics and mangas were yet to be stacked and arranged neatly. On other days, that Toni girl would visit and help us with the moving but I, being me, locked myself in my room when she came. Still not used to girls yet.The Next Phantom Chapter 34 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

He just couldn’t do it.
After seeing his comrades change from spirited rebels to lap dogs before, Wheeljack couldn’t bear to see it happen again. The Wreckers were formed because the higher-ups were too much of cowards to do the scrap themselves, but when they decided the Wreckers were “too reckless,” they decided to get out the leashes…
Speeding into the woods blindly, Wheeljack transformed back into his robot form and skidded to a stop near the bottom of a large cliff. Thunderclouds rumbled overhead as he hung his head, a shudder going through him, emanating from his spark.
The white wrecker smirked. After all the snide comments by Ultra Magnus and the tortures by the Cons, the one thing that broke his spark was the kid’s tearful face he spied in his rear view mirror…
He didn’t want to leave again…but he didn’t feel like the Autobot base was a “haven” anymore,

"What a withered husk you've become. You're weak. You're powerless. Most of all, you're utterly pathetic."

Those had been his exact words. L had been taken off guard at the time and hadn't had time to react before Light had kissed him. L could still feel it now: the exact pressure of lips on lips. L could still taste it: the slightly salty taste from Light's tears. L could still hear Light's soft words that he had spoken, "I love you."
Why had it turned out like this? Lawliet, the greatest detective in the world, could not understand it. Lawliet never did figure out if Light had really loved him or not. Light had looked so sincere when he had said it, those three simple words (which were not simple at all). But if Light was Kira, then he would had to have been a great actor so he would have been trying to get L's guard down long enough to kill him.
L honestly did not know what to think. Lawliet was baffled.
L had ignored Light's confession and had went back down stairs so there would be an audience in case Light tried anything funny.

Without his staff, he was powerless. It was now in pieces on the ground. It couldn't take the blows from his sword, which was in his other hand. Its crimson blade was ablaze and radiating heat.
Clockwork looked up toward the boy. He wasn't any average ghost. He recognized the black markings on his face, his red eyes, and long black hair. It was Elijah Dark, Pariah Dark's son and War Prince of the Ghost Zone. But why exactly he was here, Clockwork only had one guess.
"Really Clockwork. I thought you were supposed to be a wise and power

"This is my fight. My reasons are my own and I assure you, I have no mercy for those who interfere." He stated coldly, stepping forward with his blazing sword in hand. Danny sighed. Of course he was going to try and go in this fight alone. Even so, Danny didn't argue. He knew first hand how capable Elijah was. Everyone turned around to the Observant probation officer, who took a moment away from his table to answer the halfa’s question. Demodocus continued once he realized he had everyone’s attention.
“The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are no ordinary ghosts. They are primordial beings that control catastrophic forces, much like the weather demon known as Vortex and the dream harvester known as Nocturne. They could be anywhere in the Ghost Zone or human world and could take several forms. Finding just one of them might be impossible…”

Elijah dropped Clockwork as he pushed away from him. Seeing how the other was being tortured, Elijah knew it was from a terrible past experience. Without a word or a sign of remorse, he grabbed the time ghost's collar again. This time, he threw him out of the room through the open door, showing no mercy in his swing. "Joan of Arc?" Danny asked, hearing the name before but didn't know who exactly the woman was. It was pretty embarrassing to ask. He was just glad that Frostbite and Wulf didn't know either. And that his sister wasn't here.
"Well according to this, she was a French peasant girl that claimed she heard voices from God." Tucker said, reading straight from his PDA. "She went to the Dauphin of France and he was convinced she was the woman in a prophecy he heard. After leading and winning at the Siege of Orleans, she was hailed as a hero." Turning to Clockwork in the blood crystal, Elijah didn't show any signs of emotion before picking up the crystal rather roughly. Either he was too exhausted or he was just ignoring Clockwork.
