Chapter 1 A Nice Little Surprise
"Did it come yet? Did it? Did it did it did it?" asked Twilight Sparkle excitedly as she shook Spike, her dragon friend and assistant.
Spike grabbed the sides of his head to stop his eyes from spinning. "Calm down, Twilight. What are you're waiting for anyways?"
"A letter from the princess of course! Her last letter said that she was going to give me a new assignment! I've tried waiting patiently but I just can't." Twilight pulled out a notebook and a calculator and went to work. "See, I've been waiting exactly 691,200 seconds since the last scroll. Oh, now 691,201 691,202 691,203 "
Spike stuck out his hand to try to count out how many hours that would be, but quickly gave up. "Sorry Twilight, I haven't felt anything yet."
Twilight turned off her horn and looked to the floor in disappointment, dropping the hovering notebook and calculator. As Spike turned away to leave, his stomach

It's sugar on your lipstick, darling; a dangerous affair.
You chose coffee
Like you chose romance
Just for the idea of romance; cream and smoked wood swirling around in your cup,
And steam curling up into the atmosphere like the locks in his hair.
Tantalisingly dark and hauntingly aromatic
You craved it
You mocked the raven that eyed you from its branch out in the blustering courtyard and
You didn't even like the taste.
The silver curve of the teaspoon showed your warped reflection like a deathly omen
It showed the line of your neck and each glittering pearl
The hanging clock on the wall, for all its carved hearts and varnished oak
Couldn't quite drown out the tolling
Pendulum swinging by your ear as you ran your hand along the creases in the leather seat
The sweet, too-strong perfume mingling with the scent of the
Dark black coffee
Much as the gold around his wrist had

Luna was unhappy. No, more than that, she was desolate. After a millennium of being trapped in the moon as a psychotic traitor, she returned to Equestria appearing as little more than a filly. Everypony hated her for betraying Princess Celestia, feared her for her former dark powers. Nothing was as she remembered-
“Luna, it’s me.”
“Oh.” Luna recognized the voice of her sister. “Come in, then.”
Celestia opened the door of Luna’s tower abode slowly, stepping gracefully in. The warmth of her radiant mane, befitting a true princess, filled the room. She stared at Luna, seeing her on the brink of tears for the umpteenth time in a week. “You can’t stay in your room forever, Lulu; I miss you being around the castle. How many more socks do I have

"Trixie, you are a talent." The Great and Powerful Trixie closed the door to her trailer behind her. She had just finished another show in Trottingham, and it had gone over spectacularly. She sat down in front of her mirror and removed her hat and cloak.
Those were her most prized and most beloved treasures, under them she was somepony great, somepony that everyone wanted to see and laugh with and be amazed by. She felt invincible under that hat, like she could take on the world, but more importantly, she felt something else under that hat and cloak.
She felt loved.
Trixie went over to her gramophone, another of her prized possessions. It was one of the few things she always took with her on her travels as she roamed Equestria, a restless soul looking for a place to find love.

Smokey set a towel wrapped around a chunk of snow upon Fluttershy's forehead to help reduce the fever. Even though the pegasus' shuddering body revolted against having anything cold touch her, she knew it was what she needed to fight the fever. Her painkiller had worn off and the dull throbbing in her hoof added to her misery.
The dragon retrieved another pain pill and a glass of water for her. "Here you are, Miss Fluttershy. Another painkiller for your hoof."
Removing the makeshift ice pack from her forehead, Fluttershy slowly sat upright. She accepted the proffered capsule and swallowed it down with the glass of water. Handing it back to the reptile, she snuggled back under the covers and replaced the cold press on her head.
"I'll go out and get you some medicine right away." Smokey brushed Fluttershy's cheek with the backs of his index and middle fingers. He wasn't too fon

“Amazing,” Victoria Krell whispered, scribbling notes onto her iPad. The fluorescent lighting flickered above her, and she began writing faster; Craig was getting impatient for his bed. She scratched out a side note in capitalized, red letters to remind herself to bring Star Lab’s oldest night security guard a big batch of Boston creams tomorrow morning.
Victoria leaned closer to the lone cage perched on her workstation, watching 47’s wet, blank staring eyes. The brown mouse was only one of twenty in a three foot long cage. It was not particularly interesting or unique,

Chapter 2 Terminal Velocity
The big day arrived for Twilight and her friends, the day that they venture off to Las Neighgas. Eager to get going, Twilight grabbed her suitcase and started trotting off to the airport five hours early. Using her magic, Twilight floated her book, An Egghead's Guide to Card Counting, in front of her while pulling her wheeled luggage along. Unaware of her surroundings with her face in the book, Twilight trotted right past the security gate to the tarmac. Security ponies yelled for her to halt but Twilight kept rolling. Finally, it was the screech of a plane landing overhead that jolted Twilight out of her scholarly shroud. Several security unicorns quickly surrounded her with horns aglow. Twilight dropped the book and put her hooves up in innocence.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going!! Please believe me!"
The head security unicorn stepped forward and motioned to his cr

and proclaim its labors to be clever or novel?
I am a stranger in a world of ash and dust.
Every song has been sung and faded;
Every poet's pen runs dry.
Every lover, every enemy, every heart begging repose
Has fulfilled its time in this space
And poured out its entirety for generations to come
(or at least this was the intention;
we are often lost in translation).
So, who am I to produce a creation borne of experiences worn and cliché?
Who are we--
each and every one, so anomalous to have this time to live--
Who are we to entwine our sorrows with sorrows long forgotten?
Who are we to dip our pen in the pain
poured from a late lover's heart,
Or fold ourselves intimately into the arms
of those who knew our lives
Before we came into this world?

"Just let me sleep for a bit longer. Please?" she whined weakly. She tried her best to return to her slumber, but the light was insistent; a sudden pain in her head joined in. Well, no rest for the wicked, I suppose. I'm not sure how that includes me, though... Her head throbbed again and she remembered the previous evening.
Oh wait; that's right. Wicked. That's me.
Her head throbbed more insistently, quickly growing into an even sharper pain. I don't know how it's possible, but I swear I can actually see my heartbeat... She moaned piteously.
Then the alarm clock kicked in.

"I've noticed... She doesn't exactly know when to quit."
Slowly, Twilight's eyes began to creak open, and the world around her blurred and shook. A terrible throb came through her skull and she winced, her ears laying flat against the top of her head. Moaning miserably, Twilight curled her legs up against her belly, feeling nauseous. A hoof brushed against her bangs. Though it pained her to look, Twilight forced her eyes to focus and looked upwards. The faces of Rarity and Pinkie Pie began to come into view. She opened her mouth to speak, but Rarity put her hoof in front of it.

After I had met you
I found out that hope can be so wounding
Now I know what love can do
As the pieces of my heart are still falling
You made me fade in-and-out of heaven
Allowing me the taste of peace momentarily
And you're right back to testing my withdrawing patience
While I plunge back into the same old hell with this vulnerability
The feeling is too raw
A tug of war between different kinds of torment
I'm missing you so much
A never ending stalemate, the sorrow is infinite
Stay Stay Stay
Don't go, don't leave
Pray Pray Pray
Don't let go of me
But you left me for the last time
I realized that love can be so addicting
When you heartlessly took back your light
And now the memories of us are slowly darkening
You're forcing me to despise what I will never again have
As you knowingly handed me those memories of serenity
But you just had to go and leave my hopeful grasp
So now I fall away, descend

A brilliant light pierced the clouds, revealing the Great and Powerful TRIXIE to thunderous applause! The entire town had gathered to see Trixie's fantastic magic tricks. Several jealous ponies even challenged the Great Trixie on her prowess! But Trixie bested them all.
Exhausted from the show, Trixie basked in the praise of two of her followers, to whom she regaled with the time she'd vanquished the dreaded Ursa Major! Her story was so spell-binding (yet completely accurate) that by the time she finished, it was already time to hit the hay!
That night, Trixie awoke to a terrible crash. She arose gracefully from her bed to investigate the commotion outside. It seemed that her two well-meaning fans had attracted an Ursa Major into town just so they could see her defeat it!
The entire town was in a panic, but the Great and Powerful Trixie knew better. She knew on sight that it was not, in fact, an Ursa Major, but a much punier Ursa Minor. Just a baby. Trixie sc

It's something in all of us,
different but still the same.
It's a way of expression;
some times normal,
well some times strange.
It's a feeling that you have;
or sometimes sad.
It's a curse,
or a blessing.
It's something that makes you lose yourself,
or help you find your true self.
It's something that will always happen,
whether like it or not.
But something that can't be controlled,
or be freed.
But always be happy,
that you can love.

I try to run, but I fall, I try to crawl, but it stops me
The creature has a mask and black robes, it has no feet and levitates
It comes close to my ear, whispering in a dark cold voice
'' Do you remember me sweetheart? ''
The scream in my throat can't come out, its stuck

Chapter Three: Bonding
The dragon returned shortly after putting his medical supplies away, ambling into the kitchenette to wash his hands. As the mixture of warm water and soap coated his hands, splashing away any traces of bodily fluids, he turned his head into the direction of the yellow pegasus, offering her a gregarious grin. The mare half-turned her head away from him shyly. Finding the pony's bashfulness positively adorable, the reptile couldn't help but give a soft chuckle. After drying off his hands, he grabbed a ladle and a bowl from the overhead cabinet--though it wasn't much of an "overhead" cabinet considering the dragon's stature--and proceeded to fill it. After all, the home was built with ponies in mind.
He directed himself towards Fluttershy, taking great care to not spill the chowder as it swished about in the bowl with every movement he made. He slowly knelt in front of her and blew into the bowl just as he had done for the baby griffon.

Just two warm palms heart to uphold,
Eye of the chain that sets you free

So the grass on the hill flows
A beautiful dance
As the Swablu sings
So does the wind in the trees
A beautiful song
As the Lunatone
Rises in the evening sky
The moon does also
Breath as the breeze does
Allow the wind to carry
Your spirit away
The world always moves
Regardless of what you do
You must also move
Sing like the Swablu
Rise just as the Lunatone
Dance like the Spinda
Stop to enjoy life
Or it will move without you
And you will be lost
