corel painter 8, pen/"scratchboard tool" size 4.6 for line work, 20 for colour. color on 6% "resat".
made a layer on top of the photo, sketched her. made a layer of white between photo and linework, then made another layer above that (still below linework) for skin (didn't refer to photo-tones, just memory and commonsense). another layer above the skin for the hair, then a few layers on 40% "multiply" for more tones (hair and skin). then same for shirt. background done on the bottom white layer.
As I promise a while back~ This is the 2nd tutorial of an illo I did for Dragon Magazine, just to show the general progress for it and not focusing on anything specific this time Again, the final image's nothing too interesting, it's a scene about a lost adventurer coming out of a cave in the middle of some Persian desert~
