From now on submissions will be monitored. Due to some incidents of artwork that had nothing to do with The Hunger Games, we have taken measures. Any artwork irrevelent with the theme of the group, of very low quality, stills from the movie, memes etc will not be allowed. Be sure to submit to the right folder, because anything which is submitted in the wrong folder might not get allowed either. This means that you have not taken the time to think before submitting.
Also, the limit to submit is 3 deviations per week. The system will not allow you to submit more, so think and submit only your best of your work. If a person likes your work, they will probably take the time to check out your gallery anyway. There is no need to have 10 pieces of your work in a row to make an impression.
I am sure that this news will not be welcomed by everyone, bu

Light. That was the first thing he noticed. A warm, soft yellow light, muted behind his eyelids. He wanted to open them, but he was too weak and they felt swollen shut. He didn't know where he was, or what was happening. His mind floated in a cloud of haze and fog, and he couldn't make it work.
There were soundsfaraway, muffled sounds. The sensation of being shaken gently. After a few seconds, he realized the sounds were voices. He could hardly make them out.
"Do you think he's a Deadbolt?" somebody said. It sounded so muted, the person must've been talking into a wad of fabric or something. He could only just make out the words.
Casey realized his senses were slowly beginning to work. The world was starting to creep its way back into his consciousness. He noticed his thirst. His tongue felt like a dry wad of cotton inside a mouth made of sandpaper. The second thing he noticed was an ungodly pain in his head. It thumped inside his brain like a hammera throbbin

Her test was scheduled for tomorrow. The officers looked at her like she was out of her mind when she'd shown up and requested to transfer squads. Why would she have such a notion, when she was so good with a gun? Jade laughed inwardly and muttered something about wanting to be good about other things too. Then she'd knocked around a training dummy for a few minutes before they said she could come back and have a proper testing the next day.
She exited the room and walked down the hall, carrying herself with her usual pride and confidence. Maybe she would make the Elite squad after all.
"Jade!" She turned. Revis was jogging down the hall toward her. "We're going to talk to Casey now. You coming?"
Jade subconsciously glanced down at her jumpsuit. "Now?"
"Yeah. What's wrong? You busy or something?"
She squared her shoulders. "No, it's just...I was going to change."
Revis rolled his eyes. "You look fine." He nodded behind him. "Come on."
With a huff Jade followed him as he wal

Jade stood before the full-length mirror in her dormitory, checking her appearance one last time. Usually she didn't really care about it, but it was always good to look put-together in front of the commanders. She was dressed in the standard red and black jumpsuit, zipped up to her chin, and knee-length combat boots. The pendant hung from her neck, as always. Then her eyes found the reflection of her face. One green eye stared back at her. The other was covered by a curtain of long brown hair, along with the entire right side of her face. For a brief moment she was tempted to take Revis's words into consideration. But she dismissed it the second it entered her head. Surely the officers didn't care about something as trivial as her face. And if they did...well, that was too bad. She would never reveal that side of her face. Never.
"Jade?" called a chipper voice from the bathroom.
A small girl with an elfish face and blond hair cut in a long pixie style stepped

A word that has not been used to describe me for a while, if ever, is nice.
Nice [nīs], adjective, 1) kind, good
2) pleasant, socially agreeable
Personally, I don't care if I am ever described as nice. I don't exactly fit the description. For all I know, everyone who used to know me hates me.
But there are a few.
The few people who saw through my stupid un-niceness, who I managed to actually be bearable towards, who I didn't yell at when they pronounced my name wrong, who cared about me, even though most of the time I didn't deserve their attention.
Although I am never described as nice, or pleasant, or any other similar titles, I have collected other names over the years.
Ashling, that stupid name that belongs to two people, one of whom is dead.
Jerk, a lot of people enjoy using this one.
Patient #1574, for a short while, to everyone who wasn't me.

Lance was out of his sleeping bag in an instant. They scooped up their things and fled toward the cliff.
The older boy cursed. "I knew we shouldn't be out in the open like this!"
"Then why didn't you say anything?" Casey puffed behind him.
"I just I didn't think they'd actually " He abandoned his sentence and focused on running. Suddenly he skidded to a halt. "Change of plans. We're crossing the river tonight."
"What?" Surely Casey hadn't heard him right.
"We've got to. They won't come after us down there."
Casey broke out in a nervous sweat. "Are you sure we can?"
"Doesn't matter if we can," Lance answered, his sharp eyes searching the cliffside. "We don't have a choice."
Casey watched as he stripped off his backpack and jacket and tossed them over the side of the gorge. They landed on a pile of rocks far below. Then, without hesitating, he lowered himself onto the ledge and disappeared beneath it. Casey came to stand on the very edge, the river surging and churn

I woke up perfectly normal.
I wore perfectly normal clothes.
I ate perfectly normal food.
I stuffed my perfectly normal un-done homework into my perfectly normal book bag to do in first period in secret because the perfectly normal night before I had procrastinated and not done it, even though I knew all the answers anyway.
How perfectly normal.
Had I know that that day was my last day of uninterrupted, perfectly normal life, I'd have probably done as much as I could to make it irregular, un-normal, different. Just because I could.
But I didn't know, so I didn't strive to do anything different.
What a shame.
The first thing that broke my thoughts, muddled and soft as they were, was a beeping. Shrill and monotonous. Insanely irritating. It needed to stop. With a well-placed, well-practiced slap of the palm, the beeping ceased, cut short by my will to not wake up. I sank deeper into a tired stupor

I spent the most of you being happy. Laughing, singing badly, skipping down the street, talking with my friends, doing crazy things, smiling. I was happy from the moment I woke up. There was something about the way you came in, with the quiet dark that grew into dawn. Something about the way you just went exactly how I hoped you would be - perfect.
But late at night, only moments until you became tomorrow, I realized. I realized that I had fallen in love with you. You had been wonderful and gorgeous and I never wanted you to leave. But the minutes ticked by, minutes until you would disappear from between my fingers, leave me forever. And once you were gone, that was that. You would go from 'today' to 'yesterday', from 'yesterday' to 'the other day', and from then, to 'a week ago'.
And then you would become so far away and so obsolete that I would only bring you up on occasion, or perhaps forget you completely.
It was a frightening prospect, and I wished I had some way to ne

The metal of the eaves was icy cold under her fingers. She gripped it tighter as she stood up on the windowsill and reached for the short little railing that ran around the perimeter of the roof. Only for decoration really, but helpful in her case. Skillfully, she swung her lithe figure up and over the railing. Her boots landed firmly on the tin, making a faint clanging sound.
She scooted to the corner and hugged her knees to her chest. The city was laid out before her like a giant popup book. The house she was on top of wasn't the tallest structure in the area, but was definitely one of them. The roofs of other buildings were visible from her perch. Signs of life were stirring beneath her as the village began preparing for a new day. People were hurrying along the streets with carts and children, women were hanging clothes on the lines that stretched between windows, vendors began setting up and shouting at passersby to advertise their wares. Smoke rose from distant chimneys, ghostly

He's so moronic. What does she see in him?
I need her.
I wonder if he notices me.
I hate the way he looks at her.
What can she do for me today?
Does he feel the same way?
Can't she see he doesn't reciprocate her feelings?
How does she not see I don't feel the same way?
I hope he does.
Is she under some spell or something? Really?
I've got her wrapped around my finger.
I think I'll go looking for him.
Maybe I should tell her.
I wonder where she's off to today.
Will he be happy to see me?
Will she want to listen?
Will she be able to do it all?... For me, she will.
There he is. Looking as amazing as he usually does.
There she is... looking at him adoringly as always.
Ah, there she is. Ready to practically wait on me hand and foot.
Oh! He's looking right at me!
Great, she's blushing at a mere look from him.
I know what she's going to do for me today.
Part of This FamilyAnnabelle, Roxy, and I are on our way to the Russells' apartment building. Just past nine on this fine spring day, so we're dressed quite comfortably. Annabelle's in a simple floral print dress that my mother bought for her, and I'm in slacks, a shirt rolled up to my sleeves and, of course, suspenders. And because I apparently like making myself miserable, I have my hand interwoven with hers, swinging casually between us. Well, I'm not that miserable obviously because I mean, I'm holding Annabelle's hand. And I love Annabelle. And I think, I really, really hope, that she does in fact love me back. Sometimes I'm so sure she does, but then I go back to that conversation we had the morning after her drunken escapade. She said she only saw me as a friend. But I think she lied. to all the people who have ever considered suicideThere is always a reason to keep fighting. I do not care how pitiful your life is, how seemingly insignificant, how painfulyou do matter. You matter to someone: perhaps it's your mother, your father, your friend. Perhaps it's someone you haven't even met yet, but that's part of the adventure, isn't it? There is always something more to come. Every human life is so incredibly and insurmountably precious. And I will not sit here and tell you that there are people who have it worse than you, because that's silly and useless. In your world, you feel alone and desperate and you feel as if nothing, nothing could ever make you feel happy or even functional again, and that is your world. You feel as if your life, your universe, everything you ever thought about yourself and the people around you is crumbling and crashing down. But I can guarantee that it will get better. For what felt like an eternity, Casey drifted in and out of consciousness. Sometimes there was nothing, just black, and he was blissfully unaware of his pain. Then sometimes he was awake in a confusing, muddled blur of shifting images and colors and he could hear people talking, but their voices were warbling roars echoing inside his head. Sometimes he could see forms bending over him, could feel gentle hands on his face and wrapping bandages around him. He could feel his body shaking uncontrollably. Then there were those in-between stages where a mix of fragmented dreams and nightmares swirled around through his fevered brain, causing him to toss and turn and cry out. He saw his parents in his dreams. He saw Lance in his nightmares. He saw the Caps and the locker beam in all of them. How many times did he see Lance being locked? Too many. My RealityI've lost everything. My Reality4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
When most people say that during this time, they just mean they lost all of their money, savings, house, property and any other material things. Things that don't really matter, or at least to me they don't. Nine times out of ten, they still have a lot compared to me. When I say I've lost everything, I'm not being hyperbolic. I have no family, no friends, no home, no money, no anything really. Besides my life of course. But that's pretty much it.
I lost my mother about four years ago after she fell ill one day. I was never told what disease or virus took her from me because she didn't want to scare me. At the time I was thirteen. We were gardening in the back yard in her flower patch. How she loved gardening, and I loved spending time with her. It was the perfect day outside, the sun shining, the breeze easy. And I was instructed to fetch the watering can from the front yard, but by the time I returned, she was out cold on the ground. I immediately call
