As requested by (oh my, my first request !!) :iconparade-of-lunacy:, here is my own take on Mrs Lovett's final scene dress :D
This one was more inspired by the play. On the Broadway show (national tour, whatever), she used this dress that looks sooo much like a wedding gown that I found out it was a little distracting. The WHITE took all attention and didn't let me look at Todd once :P
And it's such a dramatic and sad scene, I love to look all the interpretation details (aka "NOOOOOOOO LUCYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY". poor todd). So I put a little black on it. And added a cameo. And layers on the bottom (I LOVE LAYERS).
I was too lazy to paint, but it would probably be some kind of very light cream color, instead of the white, or a light gray.
And the corset, that, in my opinion, added a very victorian-elegant touch to it.
I know it's very sketchy, but a baaad headache stoped me to do something more descent.

hope you all like it, specially :iconparade-of-lunacy: ^-^

she is about to get slutted up in order to finally show her on-again-off-again boyfriend that she can indeed be slutty. This fate could have been avoided if she had a Sassy Gay friend.

YEAH, THE END OF THIS MUSICAL BEGAN TO PISS ME OFF WHEN I REACHED PUBERTY!

Mrs. Lovett is totally my favorite character from "Sweeney." I would absolutely love to play her in a production. Crazy pie lady. You've got to LOVE-ett.

Get it?

of Horrors. She is making out with Seymour, who she thinks is much safer then her abusive dentist boyfriend. But in fact, her eventual death will be at the hands of a monster that Seymour helped cultivate. This fate could have been avoided if she had a sassy gay friend.

Keep suggesting y'all!

One of my favorite scenes from the musical "Wicked". I absolutely love the dialogue that's going on here - especially Elphaba's line "Well, we can't all come and go by bubble can we?"

Whipped this up pretty quickly yesterday to celebrate the 24th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. It didn't feel right just letting it pass by. Not really meant to resemble any Christine in particular, though she makes me think of Sierra Boggess with her arms out all crazy-like. Love that gal.

My style has change a loooooooot since I last drew Christine in her dressing gown. I might upload the old one for comparison. My life would be so much simpler if I just had a scanner big enough for legal sized paper. Instead, here I am taking a picture of it with my camera and not doing a very good job of it at that.

EDIT: Finally got a decent scan of this.

I made this Chicago Poster because I simply cannot get those songs out of my head. What can I say? It's a terrific film. :)

Left: Velma Kelly. :rose:
Right: Roxie Hart.

I was going for that scratchy film sorta look, you know? I hope it's not too, too vivid. I think I like it this way. :D I only used two references, and that was for the letters & part of Roxie's dress. :peace:

Thanks for looking!!!

I don't like the ending of Phantom, it's sad. So here's me making it up in my own happy little ending.... Erik with Christine and their first daughter, Melody.

Dedicated to my new friend ~NatashaAndrei4ever, who has had kinder words for me than anyone deserves. Thank you!

Melody belongs to her respective creator.
