He catches them
but they hurt his hands
I am awful
and i'm selfish
I have to tape up my ears
tape up my eyes
tape up my nose
The rocks may build up
and press against my insides
until i'm stretched out
My skin may tear
and they'd flow out
But until then
I must keep his hands safe

organs without purpose. Heavy
masses of flesh and putrid fat
inevitably grow and swell;
tumors on my once-perfect chest.

Miniature doll sets with little cradles and forks.
Tiny fingers and painted cheeks.
Plastic eyes and China bodies.
All I can do is play with my doll set.
Even though his problems are big ones.
Even though his problems will make a dent in his future.
His problems are big rocks.
You can never really get rid of big rocks.
Unless you crush them up into powder,
but you can't crush problems into powder.
My problems hurt me.
Everybody's problems hurt them.
But some problems are small, like mine.
Too small to worry about.
You will not remember your tiny china doll set twenty years from now.
But rocks are big
