This is my latest personal piece. I did it mostly to show that, yes I can and do paint men very well. I just prefer to draw women. As always, I put WAY TOO much into this piece. The full size is 90 inches tall. Although the detailing is not as intricate, I'm quite proud of my play on the neo-classic forms and grid-structure. The more you look at him and the more you know about art - the more you will see in him. That's my specialty. Enjoy.

Inspired by a really strange, yet intriguing illustration by Alphonse Mucha for "Le Gaulois" (Christmas 1896). I suggest you to take a look.

In my artwork, the sad girl is Clio, Muse of history. Draw your conclusions. :)

I decided to remake this old pixel art thing of my original character Wisp but in an art nouveau inspired style. If I could go back in time and be an artist of some other period, I would definitely choose the whole aesthetic, art nouveau, craftsman timeframe. And not to go all Ruskinian on everyone but no strokes in this one! All outlines are slightly wobbly and infused with the soul of the artist… yada yada. Used myself as a reference as usual.

Photoshop... the usual.
