This one is for the "So I herd u liek progress? A Fan Art Contest"!! You can find the article right here: [link]
So this was a lot of fun. Finding a fanart piece I did and felt like revamping was tricky, ended up going far back into art I made and rather forget at this point, but it's allll part of the progress, right? So yeah, I landed on a piece I made in 2005:
Good times Anyway, my re-interpretation/revamp is obviously the drawing you're viewing!
It's a fanart of Rapunzel, the way I pictured her when reading the Grimm Fairy tales - not the Disney version I kept the same format as I put it in 2005 and played with the hair like I did then. I remember trying to touch the 'Art Nouveau' style when working on the 2005 version (I failed, but that's okay ), and so I kept that thought somewhat in mind while working on this 2011 version!
I'm pleased with it! Hope you all enjoy as well
Sketched in photoshop, lineart+colors+shading+highlights done in illustrator, color adjustments and some tweaking here and there to finish it off in photoshop
My entry for the Fan Art Improvement contest. I removed the black from the remake because it seemed to overwhelm the delicate lines and made it more like stained glass than gilt. The focus has to be the face and the clothing must blend into the background. This was a lot of doodling and playing with line weight.
Edit: Uploaded a version for download.
The original: The original was an altered coloring book page from disney.com and all rights are copyright Disney Co. Inspired by Gustav Klimt Made in Pixelmator, Painter X Gold Leaf Texture: [link]
The is my entry for the contest, Beautiful Creatures. I depicted Lena as a light caster, opposing the darkness that tries to take her alive. She's wearing white because white represents all that is good and pure, such as her love.
EDIT: Changed a few minor details.. just to be a perfectionist!
This is my entry for the Starbucks Blended Frappucino contest. It's typical me stuff.. but the point of the contest is to put what makes you happy in the cup. For me, it's bohemian dancing and paisley. So there. Blend. Dance. Love.
