Day 1: Mask
Katara's eyes widened in shock as the Blue Spirit suddenly appeared on stage to save the Avatar from Commander Zhao's clutches. She stared in disbelief at the sight of the mask. It was exactly the same as the one she had seen reoccurring in her dreams since she was a little girl.
"My hero!" The actress playing Aang proclaimed, jumping down and sitting on the overly large mask to be carried off of the stage.
The Actor playing the Blue Spirit called himself the "scourge of the Fire Nation," which piqued her interest, and he saved the Avatar. She couldn't help but wonder why Aang hadn't ever mentioned it to them before. She was about to ask when her thoughts were cut off by the wretched sound of the actress who played her, crying
Later, during the first intermission and after Toph commented about the truthfulness of everyone's character portrayals, Katara remembered. "I wonde

"Dad Do we have to do this? Katara's complaint sounded like a whine.
Now, Katara, I don't like it anymore then you do. You know just as well as I do, though, that the new world order is expecting this." Hakoda wrapped an arm around his daughter's shoulders and drew her against his side. "I've already drawn the line about any arrangements being made. The southern traditions will be upheld."
Katara nodded and hugged him around the waist, letting out a soft sight. Tonight, the South Pole was hosting a party in her honor, to announce that she was of marrying age. Since the end of the war and the restoration of the Southern Tribe, and after the untimely death of the Northern Tribe's princess, Katara had become well know world wide as being the new "Water Princess." Of course, this sounded ridiculous to her.
Crossroads of Destiny 4.5 PART 1 of 2 FOR CHAPTER 4 (Never understood how Katara, a 14 year old from the middle of nowhere, who grew up with a bunch of women and children, somehow kept a comatose Aang alive during those weeks he was out. I'm studying to be a doctor, and naturally curious about such things. Soooo, I looked up nursing care for comatose patients. Let's say that, according to The American Journal of Nursing Volume 54, Aang in a coma had a lot of risks for death and complication. For one, Asphyxia (where he can't breathe due to laying on his back or one side for too long and mucus and throat constriction), waste retention (not going to even comment how did they even deal with that??? Catheters weren't around it seems, and this whole subject probably made for some awkward moments ), bed sores, and sepsis of the many wounds he incurred. So how in the heck DID she do it????Crossroads of Destiny 4.54 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

Fire and Ice Ch. 03After I settled in, though I was sure I wasn't supposed to, I decided to take a walk around the palace. It was highly ornate and beautiful. The architecture of the Fire Nation was foreign to me, and therefore I admired it even more. In actuality, I was just roaming the hallways, not brave enough to open doors. After all, who knew who was behind them? It would've looked kind of awful if the daughter of the avatar was caught snooping around the Firelord's palace.Fire and Ice Ch. 035 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
As I walked I began to hear a muffled conversation in a room nearby. I saw an archway not too far away; perhaps that was where the voices were coming from?
All of my common sense told me to turn around and find my way back to my room, but what was the point of exploring if you didn't find anything? As I inched closer I recognized my father's voice in the conversation. They were probably talking about boring adult things
"They're only children, Zuko."
What? Who was he talking about? Was he talking about me? Me and
Fire and Ice Ch. 01"Jade, it's time to go to bed," my mother said gently as she came over and sat on my bed. "It's getting late." As soon as she finished speaking, I yawned. The sad thing was she was right. I sighed.Fire and Ice Ch. 015 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Fine," I surrendered, laying my book down carefully on the floor next to my bed, to my mother's dismay. She hates it when I lay things on the ground like that. I reached up to blow out my lantern, but she put her hand on top of mine softly to stop me. I looked at her inquisitively. She lowered my hand to my side, then retracted her touch. I crossed my legs and waited for her to speak. She folded her hands neatly in her lap.
"Jade, your father and I have been talking, and we think it's time you started coming along to our biannual peace dinners in the fire nation." She informed me, carefully studying my facial expression. I felt my eyebrows furrow.
"You mean I'm going to have to travel halfway across the world so I can watch you guys have tea with Firelord Zuko?" I shoved a lock o
Fire and Ice Ch. 07We hadn't been outside that long, but the rain had thoroughly soaked through our clothes and we were both freezing and laughing and having fun. For a moment, I admit, I stopped to wonder how "proper" this was- playing in the rain with the fire prince, that is. But then I thought, hey, who cares? If anyone complained Well, I don't see why they would. Even though it was dreadfully informal didn't they want us to become friends? I felt myself shivering; I rubbed my frozen hands up and down on my bare arms, failing to make myself any warmer.
"Cold?" Shang seemed to taunt. "I thought the waterbender is accustomed to the temperatures of the Southern Water Tribe."
"Shut up," I commanded playfully. I mean I wasn't freezing I was just getting used to the warmth of the Fire Nation, I guess.
"Well we better get you inside before you die." A comment that got him splashed in the face. Though, it's not like you could tell.
Either way, we made our way inside. I dried myself to th

Yuffie ate in silence, although she was usually the talkative one who was bothered by awkward silences, for once she was glad that Vincent Valentine wasn't one for conversations.

"My lord, why are we out this far?" asked an arrancar royal guard as he walked next to his lord, the leader of the hollow kings, Schiffer Ulquiorra.
"Because we need to find these rouges, they pose a great threat if they do not go unchecked." responded the husband of Orihime.
"Are they really that dangerous sir?" spoke up another of the guard.
"Lumierre that is such a pointless question. You know the answer, were dealing with a group of Vasto Lorde."
"True enough sir .but wouldn't this be suited more for the Espada sir?" Lumierre said. The bat simply rolled his eyes and turned to face the arrancar.
"Lumierre, your part of the Hollow royal guard; a group that rivals the Espada in power. So why would I need them to aid me?"
The other guards just laughed at the naivety of the new guard who just blushed under his mask fragments and remained silent. Ulquiorra simply kept walking without another word; the great guards f

Sokka didn't bother replying. He just held his drink in his left hand and stared into it.
Zuko sighed next to him and finished the contents of his own glass. "Well, as fun as this is, I have to go back to the palace. I promised Mai I wouldn't stay out too much longer." He clapped Sokka on the back. "Happy Birthday, Buddy."
"Whatever," he grumbled without looking up. He watched Zuko leave the Dragon's Den out of the corner of his eye.

"Uh huh," Taro nodded.
Eri put a hand over her belly as she sat up on the couch. Taro took the opportunity to sit next to her. Eri noticed Taro's gaze hadn't moved from her eight month pregnant belly. "Is something wrong sweetie?" she asked gently.
"Why are you and Daddy having another baby ? Are you bored with me and brother ?" he asked.

Toph stood on the porch of her modest Upper Ring apartment, waiting for her escort.
It wasn't that she minded the waiting she was a master of it. And anything that kept her from the party that the Earth King was throwing in celebration of the three years of peace was welcome. She just hated waiting while she was wearing a dress.
She'd promised the Earth King she would at least attempt to look like the well-brought-up lady she was. The reasons were beyond her, though. Here she stood, greatest earthbender in the world, and a general on the Counsel of Five, and she was wearing a dress that barely allowed for movement, let alone any actual bending.
A light breeze blew, causing her wind chimes to move and sound. Toph smiled as she thought of the gift Aang had given her. It had been such a good birthday, everyone was having such a good time, until she had to go and ruin everything by

It had once been warm there, they said. Korra wasn't sure if she believed them.
Certainly, it was a Very Spiritual Place (as she called them in her head, but never spoke out loud). The energies of life were strong on the little island in the center of the ring of ice. The snow fell slower there, as if time itself was relaxing in the soothing quiet. It was shielded from the Storm Planes by massive cliffs, and hidden from the city by an empty temple. Korra had only discovered the entrance during some idle exploration of the place; she happened to catch a glance of a wooden door standing out against the shadow-covered walls of ice, and forced her way in. Wood was uncommon enough in this dying settlement to arouse suspicion, especially in one as challenging as Korra.
She might have been the latest Avatar, but the old traditions had not yet died, and outspoken foreign women were tolerated but not encouraged.
Korra sat in Lotus Position at the center of th

Eric stopped halfway to his room at the loud crashing noises echoing down the hall which was finished off by a soft poof. Backing up, he went down the hall to the kitchen and peered in, smirking at Bee.
The teen was standing in the middle of the kitchen, his back to Eric, surrounded by various cooking instruments. His main problem, though, was what looked like an entire bag of flour that exploded at his feet, liberally dusting his jeans and shirt.
Are you okay?
Yea Bee sounded forlorn, looking down at the mess at his feet. Who was the last person to put away stuff?

"Okay," was Tenzin's quick reply. Whether he really understood would be for time to tell.
Katara picked the child up and carried him back to the village. "Anyway, we don't have to worry about Momo's bathroom habits. He'll bury it and then come find us. He's a very clean animal."

Today, I knew, the peace dinner would take place. But, before that, I had a whole day to kill, more or less. And on top of that, my parents had agreed to stay for at least another week. It was probably a hoax to get me accustomed to Shang. Well, good luck, guys.
In addition to the noises of the Fire Nation's night, I now noticed a pitter-pattering noise Rain. In the Southern Water Tribe rain was a rarely seen delight. Here it was as common as grass, apparently. According to Shang, anyway. Despite her excitement about the gang's arrival, Toph retained her cool and sarcastic personality throughout the rest of their breakfast, which her parents grumblingly called for more of. They still hardly approved of their daughter's friendship with the hooligans who had stolen her away, so they believed, but gave the Avatar his due respect since he had saved the world and all. That meant breakfast and lodging for unexpected Avatars and their wives... and brother-in-laws. It was quite possible that Sokka was the main source of unpleasantness for the Bei Fongs. His sister was charming and polite, and the Avatar was forever grateful and smiling, but the warrior in blue did nothing but fill his bottomless pit with their expensive meats and compliment the gravy.
Or so they thought. What they didn't know is that that warrior in blue also made Toph's heart flutter at the most unexpected times, so that it was all she could do to stubbornly bite down the giddiness
