Warm air rushed against her face as she ran under the cover of tangled bushes near the electric fence. She could barely breathe from the exhilaration of finally being free, of being away from that horrible institution. For a few minutes she lay quietly tangled in the branches, soaking everything in.
Once she got past the few guards there were in the facility, outside of the doctor and experiments' housing system, the rest of her escape was exceptionally easy. Until Gene discovered her missing in about two hours she was safe. She relished in that, in being away, in being safe for the fist time since she could remember.
She wasn't stupid about her escape though. She had made sure no one saw her as she snuck out the tiny, secret door twenty feet from where she and William had been hidden. William had found it a few weeks before and had slipped notes to her as they passed each other leaving and going to experiment rooms.
They had discussed how simple it would be to leave the b

Those EyesFrom the very first moment that Sokka had found out that his wife was pregnant, he couldn't help but wonder. Wonder if this child would share its mother's eyes, those milky green eyes that Sokka loved to stare deeply in to, even if they couldn't do the same. He couldn't help but wonder every other second of his wife's pregnancy how he we would feel. Would he be proud of this child no matter what? Would he turn in to his wife's father, and shield the child from everything? What if the child couldn't bend, and wasn't even able to learn to "see" the way its mother had? Sokka went crazy thinking of his child's future, and he was almost scared of how fast those nine months went by.Those Eyes5 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
So, years later, when the child was grown, whenever Sokka would look in to the child's eyes, he remembered his worries and almost laughed. Laughed at how he could be so frightened of his own child's eyes. How most parents barely give a moment's thought to their child's' eyes, and how he on the other hand had thou
Tokka - My LullabyThe never ending rainstorm pounded endlessly on the four helpless tents in the clearing. The patter of rain on the tarp of his tent was somewhat soothing to Sokka. For some odd reason, it was the closest thing to being home as he ever felt. He listened tentatively to the melody of monotone drops just outside, and was beginning to drift into sleep.Tokka - My Lullaby5 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
A tremendous crack shattered the silence as Sokka bolted up, unnerved by the sudden thunder.
He lay down once more, and began to close his eyes when a new sound entered the air.
It sounded soft and almost unnoticeable, but it was there. Silent, muffled sobs wisped through the air as Sokka pulled on his tunic, and peeked out of his tent to find out what was going on.
To his surprise, the sight that greeted him was the same sight he left when he went to bed: Nothing but his companions' tents and a terrible storm awaited him outside. He was just about to return to sleep when thunder rolled through the valley once more, and the sobbing started ag

"Why not just wake him up now?"
"Sweet-spark, he needs his rest. Just keep an optic on him but let him be, all right?"
"Good girl." She squeezed the young femme's shoulder before hurrying off.
Once Drillbit was gone, Windblade leaned on the end of the berth near her co-creation's feet, staring at him. She didn't understand why Drillbit and Whirlwind were constantly going on about how adorabl

A myriad of sounds and voices echoed in her head all at once. It was a sea of noise in there: different voices talking, laughing, crying, some even screaming - all mixed with the monotonous hum of engines, the loud rumbling of vehicles, the whirring of helicopters, and the sound of music playing in the midst of the clamor. She made no sense of this chaotic combination of sounds; all reverberated within her brain discordantly.
Two eyes, which hitherto had been shut now slowly reopened to welcome daylight once more. Strong light stung them so terribly that she closed them by impulse another moment before a second attempt; she found everything too bright and incredibly blurred for her weak eyesight.

Continued from Zutara Week: Day 1 Mask
Later that night, back at the Fire Lord's beach house, when everyone was asleep Katara snuck out of the room that she shared with Toph and Suki. Once out in the court yard where Zuko and Aang had been doing their training, she stared up at the full moon. A shiver of anticipation crept through her as she thought that she might soon discover another part of her destiny. The Blue Spirit, whose mask had been a part of her dreams since she was a little girl. Crossing her arms in the attempt to calm her excitement as well as to guard herself from disappointment, she wondered what kind of information Zuko could give her about the man behind the mask - the "scourge of the Fire Nation." What was he like? Was he a powerful bender?
"Are you cold?" Katara jumped at the sound of his voice. She hadn't heard him come out

Katara climbed up the steps at the Western Air Temple carrying a basket of laundry that needed to be hung out to dry. Along the way, she muttered complaints about how no one ever bothered to help. She was the one who did all of the cooking and all of the laundry, while Aang, Toph and Zuko trained, Sokka plotted and planned, and Haru, Teo, and The Duke ran around exploring the temple.
Distracted by her thoughts she tripped over the last step. The laundry basket came down hard on the floor before her and she adjusted her position to somehow stumble around it. Feeling herself falling to the side, she braced herself, but felt a hand come under her arm and another wrap around her waist to catch and steady her. She expected that it was her brother. After adjusting her footing she made to step away, but the hold didn't loosen. Looking back to say something, instead of b

Hide blinked at the cheerful greeting, not expecting anyone to be up so early after a night of drinking. Sebastian smiled serenely at him from over the edge of the newspaper in his hands. There were two cups of coffee on the table, and Hide grabbed the second, full one, drinking the liquid with a slight grimace. How can you be so cheerful? You were drinking with us.

Eric got fairly well drunk, as did Jazz, but we were sure to hide all forms of sugar from Bee.

Hide and Sebastian looked up as the yell echoed through the building, followed by crashes and thuds. The source of the noise appeared in the kitchen, running around the area to grab school books and papers and stuffing them into a backpack. After that, Bee grabbed a piece of toast from Hides plate, down it, drank a glass of water, and grabbed his coat from the back of a chair and struggled to put it on as he ran out of the room at top speed, his backpack trailing behind him.
Did anyone tell the kid that schools cancelled? Hide asked, picking up his last piece of toast.

"When did she become so beautiful?" Sokka thought to himself as he watched Toph wring out her long tresses. They had been caught in a sudden rain shower that forced them to abandon their trail and find shelter. With luck they had happened to find an abandoned farm house, but not before becoming soaked to the bone.
Upon their entry into the small, one room structure, Sokka had set to the task of building a fire in the old fireplace, grateful for the stack of wood that he found beside it. After the fire had roared to life, he turned to find that Toph hadn't wasted any time to get out of her drenched clothing though her chest was still wrapped and she wore her breechcloth. Her form glowed before him by the light of the fire, bringing a reaction that he didn't expect - his pulse quickened as his heart pounded the blood through his body.

Three years ago, Vincent left the ruins of Midgar and set out to find Lucrecia. The woman had wanted to see him, but never disclosed why. He could only wonder why she had re-appeared and asked for him, when she'd hitherto been gone and not heard from, ever since their last encounter in an isolated cavern behind a waterfall.
What seemed like out of nowhere, he received a message one day. It came in the form of a brown envelope with his name on. Upon tearing the envelope open, he pulled out a single sheet of somewhat aged paper, and unfolded it. On it was a note written for his eyes only. It read:
Meet me in Mideel next Wednesday before sunset.
That was the entire message, not even a name or signature on it. No need for one, either; Vincent easily recognized Lucrecia's handwriting. He couldn't begin to guess how she knew where to find him - at this point, however, he found it completely irrelevant; the briefness of the note indicated urgen

Aang followed the Fire Nation soldiers passively, his head low and his steps sluggish. Normally, he would have fought these cruel men who had yanked savagely on his chains every step of the way, but now it seemed like all the energy and fight had been drained from him.
A loud, growling noise jerked Aang from his daze for a moment and the hollow feeling in the pit of his belly worsened, reminding him that he hadnt eaten since the previous afternoon.
And it was now early evening.
But these men didnt care. They didnt care if the shackles bit into his wrists, or that he was exhausted from traveling so far on so little rest, or that his stomach was beginning to ache because it felt so empty, or that he had lost the girl he loved more than anything in the world. The only thing they cared about was delivering the Avatar to wherever it was they were going.

He gazed at the scene of the villagers working diligently, sweeping igloos and washing tents, as well as bringing in every imaginable creature from the South Pole for a feast.
The hours went by as what Sokka presumed to be three O' Clock by the sun. The festival was complete, the only thing missing were the honored guests.
