Day 1: Mask
Katara's eyes widened in shock as the Blue Spirit suddenly appeared on stage to save the Avatar from Commander Zhao's clutches. She stared in disbelief at the sight of the mask. It was exactly the same as the one she had seen reoccurring in her dreams since she was a little girl.
"My hero!" The actress playing Aang proclaimed, jumping down and sitting on the overly large mask to be carried off of the stage.
The Actor playing the Blue Spirit called himself the "scourge of the Fire Nation," which piqued her interest, and he saved the Avatar. She couldn't help but wonder why Aang hadn't ever mentioned it to them before. She was about to ask when her thoughts were cut off by the wretched sound of the actress who played her, crying
Later, during the first intermission and after Toph commented about the truthfulness of everyone's character portrayals, Katara remembered. "I wonde
Crossroads of Destiny 4.5 PART 1 of 2 FOR CHAPTER 4 (Never understood how Katara, a 14 year old from the middle of nowhere, who grew up with a bunch of women and children, somehow kept a comatose Aang alive during those weeks he was out. I'm studying to be a doctor, and naturally curious about such things. Soooo, I looked up nursing care for comatose patients. Let's say that, according to The American Journal of Nursing Volume 54, Aang in a coma had a lot of risks for death and complication. For one, Asphyxia (where he can't breathe due to laying on his back or one side for too long and mucus and throat constriction), waste retention (not going to even comment how did they even deal with that??? Catheters weren't around it seems, and this whole subject probably made for some awkward moments ), bed sores, and sepsis of the many wounds he incurred. So how in the heck DID she do it????Crossroads of Destiny 4.53 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

"What's the matter, Toph?" Sokka asked, genuinely concerned for his blind friend.
"Nothing; it's not like you would understand " She said sadly. It was odd that she didn't turn her anguished expression away from him, but he figured that she didn't really care. She was blind, after all.
"Hey, cut that out " he said sadly. "Wanna hit me a few times? I know that'd make you feel better," he offered glumly, in an attempt at cheering her up. He sat next to her. She shook her head.
She looked up, desperately wishing she could see him.
"Hey, Sokka?" She asked, unsurely.
"What's it like, being able to see? I mean actually see. My feet are pretty awesome, but " she trailed off for a moment, "What's it like to see from your eyes?" She lifted her head in his direction, in an attempt at 'looking' at him. He smiled sadly.
"Well " he began, "Firstly, there are colors "

It had once been warm there, they said. Korra wasn't sure if she believed them.
Certainly, it was a Very Spiritual Place (as she called them in her head, but never spoke out loud). The energies of life were strong on the little island in the center of the ring of ice. The snow fell slower there, as if time itself was relaxing in the soothing quiet. It was shielded from the Storm Planes by massive cliffs, and hidden from the city by an empty temple. Korra had only discovered the entrance during some idle exploration of the place; she happened to catch a glance of a wooden door standing out against the shadow-covered walls of ice, and forced her way in. Wood was uncommon enough in this dying settlement to arouse suspicion, especially in one as challenging as Korra.
She might have been the latest Avatar, but the old traditions had not yet died, and outspoken foreign women were tolerated but not encouraged.
Korra sat in Lotus Position at the center of th
Fire and Ice Ch. 03After I settled in, though I was sure I wasn't supposed to, I decided to take a walk around the palace. It was highly ornate and beautiful. The architecture of the Fire Nation was foreign to me, and therefore I admired it even more. In actuality, I was just roaming the hallways, not brave enough to open doors. After all, who knew who was behind them? It would've looked kind of awful if the daughter of the avatar was caught snooping around the Firelord's palace.Fire and Ice Ch. 033 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
As I walked I began to hear a muffled conversation in a room nearby. I saw an archway not too far away; perhaps that was where the voices were coming from?
All of my common sense told me to turn around and find my way back to my room, but what was the point of exploring if you didn't find anything? As I inched closer I recognized my father's voice in the conversation. They were probably talking about boring adult things

"Fine," I surrendered, laying my book down carefully on the floor next to my bed, to my mother's dismay. She hates it when I lay things on the ground like that. I reached up to blow out my lantern, but she put her hand on top of mine softly to stop me. I looked at her inquisitively. She lowered my hand to my side, then retracted her touch. I crossed my legs and waited for her to speak. She folded her hands neatly in her lap.
"Jade, your father and I have been talking, and we think it's time you started coming along to our biannual peace dinners in the fire nation." She informed me, carefully studying my facial expression. I felt my eyebrows furrow.
"You mean I'm going to have to travel halfway across the world so I can watch you guys have tea with Firelord Zuko?" I shoved a lock o

From his spot perched upon Appa's head, Zuko stared out towards the horizon. "Zuko, don't worry, we can take Azula." Katara's voice broke through his thoughts. He had almost forgotten that she had moved to sit beside him.
"I'm not worried about her, I'm worried about Aang. What if he doesn't have the guts to take out my father?" He looked at her before speaking the words that weighed heaviest on his mind. "What if he loses?"
Her reply came quick, full of determination and faith, as if to convince him that she spoke the truth. "Aang won't lose. He's gonna come back," but even her resolve faltered and she looked away. "He has to "
Zuko studied her profile, choosing his words carefully before he spoke. "How can you be so sure?"
Those bright blue eyes turned back to him and she offered a sma

Standing on the deck of the ship, Zuko stared out across the sea.
"Aren't you cold?" Mai was walking towards him.
"I've got a lot on my mind. It's been so long. Over three years since I was home. I wonder what's changed. I wonder how I've changed," Zuko mused.
Mai sighed out of sheer boredom. "I just asked if you were cold. I didn't ask for your whole life story." She wrapped her arms around him, "Stop worrying," and kissed him.
That was the first time it happened. A pair of magnificent blue eyes flashed through his mind, but he was disappointed when he looked and found that she wasn't there. Once Mai left, he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I wonder how I've changed, indeed "
It happened again when he was feeding the turtle ducks, awaiting an audience with hi

"Dad Do we have to do this? Katara's complaint sounded like a whine.
Now, Katara, I don't like it anymore then you do. You know just as well as I do, though, that the new world order is expecting this." Hakoda wrapped an arm around his daughter's shoulders and drew her against his side. "I've already drawn the line about any arrangements being made. The southern traditions will be upheld."
Katara nodded and hugged him around the waist, letting out a soft sight. Tonight, the South Pole was hosting a party in her honor, to announce that she was of marrying age. Since the end of the war and the restoration of the Southern Tribe, and after the untimely death of the Northern Tribe's princess, Katara had become well know world wide as being the new "Water Princess." Of course, this sounded ridiculous to her.
Fire and Ice Ch. 06The next morning I awoke to darkness and the eerie noises of the Fire Nation's version of night. Nothing back home made noises such as these. In the morning you might hear some tiger seals or something, but never the odd clicking or chirping noises of the Fire Nation's night. It was as scary as it was fascinating.Fire and Ice Ch. 063 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
Today, I knew, the peace dinner would take place. But, before that, I had a whole day to kill, more or less. And on top of that, my parents had agreed to stay for at least another week. It was probably a hoax to get me accustomed to Shang. Well, good luck, guys.
In addition to the noises of the Fire Nation's night, I now noticed a pitter-pattering noise Rain. In the Southern Water Tribe rain was a rarely seen delight. Here it was as common as grass, apparently. According to Shang, anyway. And, even though it was still dark and I wasn't dressed, I grabbed my robe and headed outside, unable to resist the call of water and the moon.
As far as I could tell (as I was sneakin

Eri tiredly looked at her three year old son, "Taro? I thought your father put you down for a nap "
"I don't wanna sleep " Taro said glancing at his mother's swollen belly. Eri sighed softly.
"Alright, is your brother sleeping at least?"
"Uh huh," Taro nodded.
Eri put a hand over her belly as she sat up on the couch. Taro took the opportunity to sit next to her. Eri noticed Taro's gaze hadn't moved from her eight month pregnant belly. "Is something wrong sweetie?" she asked gently.
"Why are you and Daddy having another baby ? Are you bored with me and brother ?" he asked.
Eri blinked. "Oh Taro no, we've gone over this. Just because me and Daddy are having another baby doesn't mean we don't love you. It just means you're going to have a little brother or sister."
"But I already have a brother," Taro pouted.

"Well we better get you inside before you die." A comment that got him splashed in the face. Though, it's not like you could tell.

It wasn't that she minded the waiting she was a master of it. And anything that kept her from the party that the Earth King was throwing in celebration of the three years of peace was welcome. She just hated waiting while she was wearing a dress.
She'd promised the Earth King she would at least attempt to look like the well-brought-up lady she was. The reasons were beyond her, though. Katara picked the child up and carried him back to the village. "Anyway, we don't have to worry about Momo's bathroom habits. He'll bury it and then come find us. He's a very clean animal."

"His fur, yes. That's how lemurs stay clean."
