Another beautiful start to a day at Bushland Beach in Townsville. An unusually clear sky for January. No wet season monsoons yet... they are very late this year. Our Summer has been hot days and clear skies. Perhaps the rains will start soon.

This is the view that awaited Chris *Chuckmeister and I after we found our way to the base of Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains National Park.
The total drop of the waterfall is about 187 metres (not large by world standards) and to get to the base we needed to walk along stepping stones across the top of the falls, walk down steps carved into the cliff face, climb backwards down very steep steel steps, use a rope in one place to get to the next level and also hike a short way through the bush. It was work it
Another shot from the base of the Pinnacles in June this year when the weather was wild, swell was up - challenging conditions but a great reminder of nature's powers. You can access this area from a turn off to Cape Woolamai. From the farthest car park it was about 45 minutes pleasant walking (in the right conditions). Only the last part is tricky going down a slope in the muddy conditions.
