TestsThe moment I had flipped open the exam paper, I had instantly regretted signing up to take the Chemistry Olympiad. I read through the question, and my mind went blank, like a freshly formatted hard drive. I cursed. Of all times, my brain had chosen this time to let me down. However, I knew what to do. I simply forced myself to do the damn question, wringing the information from my uncooperative mind. Not only were the questions challenging, they were also tedious.
By the time I had gotten to the last question, I was already rather frustrated, and was hoping for an easy question. However, the very first line of the question caught my eye. It said: This question is about dragons.
My jaw dropped. Of all things to set a question on, they had to set one on dragons. I shrugged, and got back to work. Dragons or no, it was still a question, and it had to be done. Like the others, it wasn't easy. However, I found it interesting. The question was on the various gases used by the diffe

"Hao Jie, I'm the Logistics committee chief, I work behind the scenes, and I'm no actor! Get someone else!" I exclaimed, trying to hammer into the event organiser's thick skull that I had no intension to go on stage. He had spent the past week pestering me to take up a role in the play, as he believed the rumours that said that I was a good actor. The only reason why I let him continue was because both of us were good friends, and I didn't want to damage our friendship over such a petty matter.
"Come on la, Keane, No one will be able to see your face! You'll be in the costume anyway, so for that matter, no one will be able see any part of you for that matter!" He seemed equally exasperated.

Physical Training"Class, give me one round around the track, then thirty pushups, dips and crunches. That's considered one set. I want you all to do three sets. Go, now!"Physical Training3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
I groaned, as my classmates and I started running. It was only the first week of school, yet the PE department had already gone all out with its physical training programme. As we ran along the track, several of us began to complain about the programme. Obviously, no one had worked out during the holidays. To add to our misery, the track was wet, and the water was constantly splashing onto our legs and shoes, making the running experience worse.
After three rounds around of the track, ninety pushups, dips and crunches later, we dragged ourselves back to class, retrieved our bags and left school, as PE was our last lesson of the day. I knew for sure that my body would be aching for the rest of the week.

Factory DefectsAfter a year of delays and red tape, my air rifle had finally arrived. I had received a phone call in the morning from the staff at the range informing me that it had arrived. Upon receiving the news, I had hopped onto the bus, and made my way to the range. I had waited a year for the rifle, and was eager to try the gun out.
When I reached the range, I was greeted by a stern-faced policeman.
"Sir, are you the owner of this gun?" He asked, as he took out a clipboard.
"What's the serial number?" I asked, not wanting to lay claim to someone else's weapon. I had been given the serial number beforehand by my coach.
He then rattled off the serial number, confirming that the gun was indeed mine. I signed on the form, and he stepped aside, handing me the weapon that was in its case. I then proceeded to clear the rest o

At first, we all assumed that he simply wanted to rest for a while. It was not uncommon for dragons to just land and rest anywhere and everywhere, for they always acted as if they owned the damn planet. However, it soon became obvious that he was not intending to rest, and had no intension of leaving. He started off just sitting in the middle of the expressway, effectively blocking off the traffic on both sides. Then, he began keening, and now, he was roaring and tearing up bits of the road and hurling them all over the place. Around two hours had elapsed already, and ru

The irony was that it all began on a rather good day.
Finally, I was getting to shoot a real gun. Until then, the best I could have was my air rifle. If anything, I blamed the red tape surrounding the usage of real weapons. Either way, that didn't matter anymore. The school had arranged for the students in the shooting club, including me, to go trap shooting.
I was rather excited, despite the fact that the range was situated near a dragon roost. Initially, I just found them to be intimidating, despite the many reassurances of my friends and family. Instead of confronting my fears, I shied away from them, and simply kept away from dragons in general. Every once in a while, a dragon would land in the school compound for some reason or another. It was like any day in school. As usual, I had not been able to wake up, and had to rush to school. After the first lecture of the day, I heard my stomach grumble. I had been in such a rush that I had forgotten to have breakfast! So, I headed down to the canteen and bought a plate of chicken rice and was about to buy a can of coffee, only to find, to my dismay that I did not have any money left. Instead, I had to settle for a cup of fruit punch, which was about half the price.
I quickly gobbled down the food, and drank the punch. It tasted weird. My stomach would probably give me trouble over that later. Today was going to be a bad day
And indeed it was. Throughout the entire day, my insides felt as if they were sloshing about. Little did I know that they really were doing just that. I was unable to concentrate during my tutorials and was scolded several times by the teacher.

I immediately regretted saying that, as the usual torrent of questions from Talorath came. Hence, I spent a good ten minutes explaining what was GPS, and how it worked.
As we approached the range, my phone buzzed. One of my shooting teammates was calling me.
I accepted the call, and said, "What?"
"Are you going for training today?"
"Where are you?"
"Walking towards the door of the range."
"Oh. Can you run? The coach is going to start her lecture now, and you are the only one left!"
"OH. Ok Running now boss." I said, as I hung up and ran into the range, with Talorath close behind me.

Catherine loved bargain shopping especially when it comes to jewellery. Catherine was seventeen, quite popular at school, good figure and long straight brown hair and blue eyes to die for.
After another day of buying of price cut down jewellery, she was about to go home when she spotted a shop with a sign marked cheap jewellery inside.
Thinking that it sounded good, she approached the shop.
Opening the door, Catherine couldnt hardly believe of how much jewellery they was, all from key chains to a little chain piece.
As she look around she heard the sweetest voice ever, May I help you dearie? Catherine turn to see an old lady standing behind the counter.
Uh, no thanks just browsing Catherine answers back in a polite way; soon she came across hundred of necklaces, each one more beautiful then the other.

As I tucked into the ham and turkey, I chatted with my friends and relatives, catching up on events in their lives, and sharing some of my own anecdotes. One good thing about major occasions is that they provide people who would otherwise drift apart a chance to renew relationships and to just talk.
After stuffing ourselves with food (the turkey this year was excellent), it was time to hand out or receive presents, depending on which end you were on. As usual, the younger children who had been eagerly awaiting this moment all crowded around the adults, forming a screaming and shouting mob. I couldn't help but smile, as I sat with the other teenagers. It was not so long ago that this was a big thing for me too.
After receiving my gifts, I thanked those that gave them to me, and unwrapped them one by one. As per my habit, I meticulously unwrapped them

Circe had been vacationing in the United States for a few weeks, enjoying her annual sojourn away from her island kingdom in Aeaea. She had been growing steadily more impressed with the human world over the past century or so, as their technological accomplishments had begun to rival the finest achievements of her magical peers. In her opinion, most of those like her deities missed out by not keeping current with what the mortals could do, could achieve. It was exhilarating, after a fashion like watching a child grow up.
She had been shopping for groceries, and decided to enjoy a longer-than-necessary walk home. Music seemed to pound out of every other apartment window, car stereo, and personal iPod. When people had still believed in her as a goddess, such a diversity of music was unknown.

While I'm honoured that you'd like to read my works, I regrettably have to inform you that this story has been discontinued after eight chapters and a sidestory merge. There won't be any more chapters in this story, sadly.
I am however working on a new project that will hopefully outshine this old gal - it's going to be released some time in the future, and I hope you'll be there to read that was well.
If you can deal with this story ending abruptly with no end in sight, then by all means read on, and dream.
People dream. It's natural. Daydreams you usually control and you can make them whatever you want. Sometimes they get forgotten, sometimes they spring back to life after a long time, or just a heartbeat. Sometimes, they come true.

For years, the two of them have been putting money aside for their vacation, getting a second job and working overtime at some points. After they collected enough cash to go, they took it.
The reason why they would choose such an exotic place is due to the fact Amy has always had a large passion for reptiles. Lizards, snakes, you name it. Mitch on the other hand, hated these creatures. He was disgusted just by the mere site of one, with their smooth, cold scales and their long tongues. Just the thought of it made him shiver. "Come on babe, can't we make our way back to the lodge? Ever since the changes people went through in Asia and Oceania on December 21, 2012, things have been hectic the world over.
By hectic, I mean revival-of-old-religions hectic.
Something like this was unprecedented. Mother Nature was a real entity? She turned everyone in the Asian and Oceanic continents into a race of plant people? I have read up on all the stuff speculated to happen on December 21st, but I never thought that it would all actually happen. Some people have indeed proclaimed it to be the beginning of a new era.
My question is...of what?
To my family, Mother Nature has another name she goes by: Gaea of Greek and Roman mythology. With the revelation that Mother Nature is real came with the belief of many people that ancient religions and the figures featured within them might be real. My father even began praying to Poseidon of all people after the revelation. Unlike many, my family held on to the Classical religions. "There is a God,"
