Act the part"What?... Fever So you cannot come?...Ok . Wait, then who'll play the dragon?" Then, Hao Jie put down the phone, and looked at me. "Keane, you like dragons right? Here's your chance to be one. Darrel has a fever, and can't come. I need you to take his place."
"Hao Jie, I'm the Logistics committee chief, I work behind the scenes, and I'm no actor! Get someone else!" I exclaimed, trying to hammer into the event organiser's thick skull that I had no intension to go on stage. He had spent the past week pestering me to take up a role in the play, as he believed the rumours that said that I was a good actor. The only reason why I let him continue was because both of us were good friends, and I didn't want to damage our friendship over such a petty matter.
"Come on la, Keane, No one will be able to see your face! You'll be in the costume anyway, so for that matter, no one will be able see any part of you for that matter!" He seemed equally exasperated.

I laid curled up on my bed reading a book Father had given me from his ventures out of the cave. The book I was reading was "Lord of the Rings". It was written by a human called JRR Tolkien. I love reading human literature and I would love to one day venture into the towns and cities and see what other literature I could find from the remains of the humans that used to live here.
My name is Ash, I'm a sixteen year old bipedal dragon. I'm about six foot tall, my scales are sky blue as are my wings. I also look like every other dragon, with me having two white horns protruding from the back of my head.

These questions ran through 16 year old Josh's mind. His friends had always said he was like a dragon, even earning him the nickname "Dragon Boy" among his group of friends. Regardless of his nickname, Josh himself loved dragons. Even at 16, he had always wished he could meet one. Oddly enough, Josh could actually sympathsize more with dragons than with most humans.
Some of Josh's "dragon-like" traits were the fact that he was a loner. He didn't have many friends. The reason for his having so little friends was because he was very skeptical about new people, even more so than most others. He also hated being around a lot of people. Whenever he was in a large group, even if it wasn't that many people, he always felt too cramped. His parents and teachers thought he may possibly have had some form of autism.
Josh lay on his bed, his left arm under his head as he threw a tennis ball into

It was a late spring night. All other activity in the house had ceased, but John had kept going. The bright, piercing light outlined his form against the wall behind him. In the dark light, he looked rather plain. He had brown hair that he never attempted to clean up, and wore a standard t-shirt and jeans. Never getting out much, he was quite thin. John was a Junior at college home for spring break. Now it might occur to the reader, why would any college student be home during spring break. Because John is serious about his work.
John was about to finish up his latest computer program. It was a three dimensional dragon he was making as part of a computer degree. This project, was not just any project though. It was the mother of all projects. He was creating the perfect dragon avatar. It would express emotion in all ways, realistically. The scales would look real, muscles woul

Better this to be important...it's five in the morning I said, barely able to hear my voice.
I heard a few coughs. Hey Sean, this is uncle Steve. Do you still remember who I am or you completely forgot about me?
I laughed, in a sarcastic way of course. Who can forget about you? That present you sent me last year was awesome...too bad you weren't there! It's so hard for you to visit me, at least once?
I heard a sigh, followed by another cough. I'm sorry Sean, but I was busy. I'm working on something special for you
Yeah right...you said that at least three hundreds time. You also said that you were going to let me come to your house and spend the rest of the summer with you...but school is starting next week, and you... I sighed. You left me alone...again
He laughed. And that's why I called you. I want

At least let me have the mouth so I can speak and have a little energy.
Ok, but you better let me go as soon as they show up, I said as I felt my face push out into the dragonic muzzle of the costume.
Drethan gave me this costume several months ago but he neglected to tell me that this thing was alive! The first time it took me over, it wasnt pleasant and I lost all self-control until by bull-headedness fought it off. I had been in and out of it a lot and I now have control over it but it still seemed sinister having its voice in my head. Even though it was a large one, I had been able to keep this secret from everyone but my parents. When I told them, they went to confront Drethan (and possibly get costumes of their own) but he was nowhere to be found. Hront
A New Reason To LiveSkyle was a junior in high school. He was pretty much considered a nobody. He was constantly picked on by peers and abused by his parents. His father was an alcoholic and almost had no money to support Skyle. Skyle's mother died when he was little and five years later, his father remarried and had another kid. A boy who he named Zack. Zack was the only person who was ever truly nice to Skyle. In short, Skyle's entire life was downright miserable and this is where the story begins.A New Reason To Live8 years ago in Scraps More Like This
The class bell rang for eighth hour. The last hour of the day. Skyle had math. He was never fond of math. He actually found it to be boring. He was working on triginometry which seemed to have taken forever.
Fourty minutes passed and Skyle thought to himself " When will this day END?!" Skyle overheard some classmates talking.
"Hey, you going to the Halloween dance?" One of the girls asked.
"Yeah! Of course I am! I'd never miss a chance to hook up with a hot guy!" The other girl exclaimed.

Fate changed mine...for the good and bad...
This...is my story...
It all started a month ago. I was browsing Deviantart...you know, the art website were I usually put my artworks on. That day, I got commissioned by someone who calls himself Dragonkin696. He asked me to draw his online persona: a black crystal dragon. Nothing to complex I thought, so I accepted.
Three weeks later, I finished the drawing, and I sent that guy a low resolution scan of it. He really liked it, and he told me that he was going to send me my payment right away. Now...I didn't tell him how much I wanted, so when he said that...I told him that we needed to set a price first. He told me that what he was about to send me was more than enough for such a fantastic work.
What he said kind of confused me...but I decided to accept whatever payment he was going to send me anyway. Beside...I didn't usually take a lot money for my artworks...they were j

You're still that lone soul,
But this time
You feel a presence
Building up inside you, slowly.
You can now see truly,
You open your eyes
And witness something incredible.
You've noticed your hand,
Yet it is no longer that.
You see claws spurting out from your fingertips,
Your nails, fallen to the floor.
It looks painful
But you feel nothing.
Nothing but the strength
Still growing inside you
Now making its way to the surface,
Changing you slowly...
You watch as your fingertips fuse.
As five becomes three,
Your new claws growing longer
With each passing second.
You stare in amazement
Not sure what to feel...
Shock? Fear? Awe?
But there is one thing.
One single feeling
Surging through your body...
One feeling whose existence
You cannot deny.
It flows through your veins
Filling you with the energy
Of the beast within.
Now freeing itself
From the depths of your soul...
Yet this power cannot be contained so easily.
TestsThe moment I had flipped open the exam paper, I had instantly regretted signing up to take the Chemistry Olympiad. I read through the question, and my mind went blank, like a freshly formatted hard drive. I cursed. Of all times, my brain had chosen this time to let me down. However, I knew what to do. I simply forced myself to do the damn question, wringing the information from my uncooperative mind. Not only were the questions challenging, they were also tedious.Tests3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
By the time I had gotten to the last question, I was already rather frustrated, and was hoping for an easy question. However, the very first line of the question caught my eye. It said: This question is about dragons.
My jaw dropped. Of all things to set a question on, they had to set one on dragons. I shrugged, and got back to work. Dragons or no, it was still a question, and it had to be done. Like the others, it wasn't easy. However, I found it interesting. The question was on the various gases used by the diffe

The irony was that it all began on a rather good day.
Finally, I was getting to shoot a real gun. Until then, the best I could have was my air rifle. If anything, I blamed the red tape surrounding the usage of real weapons. Either way, that didn't matter anymore. The school had arranged for the students in the shooting club, including me, to go trap shooting.
I was rather excited, despite the fact that the range was situated near a dragon roost. Initially, I just found them to be intimidating, despite the many reassurances of my friends and family. Instead of confronting my fears, I shied away from them, and simply kept away from dragons in general. Every once in a while, a dragon would land in the school compound for some reason or another. He wouldn't have left his warm comfy armchair in front of the fireplace in a day like that, if it wasn't for the fact that the local Gamestop just got a few hundred copies of a game he really wanted to get, and although he did preorder it, considering the amount of people who did the same he really wanted to make sure he could snatch a copy as soon as possible.
He tried not to run as he made his way to the store, mostly to avoid breaking the umbrella's protection, but also cause the pavement was slippery, and falling only to get splashed by a car driving by wasn't something he really wanted to experience again.
He was only a few hundred feet away from the store when for some reason he stopped by the plush shop.

My name is Sean, I'm a 23 year old IT Student at Forth Valley College in Stirling
I was 6'3" tall and a bit on the skinny side. I didn't have a lot muscle on me and I ain't exactly on the strong side either. But I was no pushover, I used to do a lot Ti-chi when I was living in England mainly for my heart due to problems growing up. But I did learn quite a few defensive moves that could break an arm or two without much effort.
Anyway it was Tuesday evening and I was chatting away to two of my MSN friends in group chat, Malky & Iain. I had known these two guys for years on various forums and messenger, we were all big football supporters. Myself and Malky being big supporters of Celtic football club and we had met up at a few games over the last year. Iain was a supporter of city rivals Rangers and we had yet came up with a plan that would suit all parties for a meet up. That was until a few weeks ago.

I sighed as I looked around.
I couldn't believe that not only had I been able to find a home of my own,(granted this was the country not the residential city I was used to) but also was able to keep one of the computers to use as my own, plus my parents said they'd leave me alone.
I'd recently been chatting up with a friend I met online telling him about the move, my friend had been the one who suggested the place i'd moved to. Though I wasn't all that impressed, the city I had moved to was kinda small, I didn't really pay attention to the name of the city though I did manage to find an apartment with a low rent cost, and there was a grocery store nearby, still, I couldn't help but think that I was missing something.
I looked at the calender and sighed, Halloween was just around the corner, and I still didn't have a costume, not that I thought I needed one, it was just that most people wore costumes

I had spent the past week out in the sun, doing work for the community. They were organizing a fun-fair, and I had volunteered to help in the setting up of the booths and tents. However, I had not known that it would entail a week toiling under the hot sun. Still, I had volunteered, so the job had to be done.
I was having a bad day in school. I had been late, and had to serve detention later. As I stepped out of the staffroom, having just been caught, I felt a strange tingling sensation on my skin. I ignored it, being already late for my lecture.
The lecture was on physics, on light. The teacher had shown several videos, which were very interesting, only that the projector was not co-operating, and the videos seemed to have something wrong, but I could not put my finger on it. However, whenever a video was screened, my skin would tingle. Something was amiss.
After the lecture, I had another two lessons, the last of which ended at 12. As I cut across the assembly plaza

Take otherkin for example, they are human in body but something else in spirit. You may or may not believe on otherkin but I want you to believe that the soul exists. While I'm honoured that you'd like to read my works, I regrettably have to inform you that this story has been discontinued after eight chapters and a sidestory merge. There won't be any more chapters in this story, sadly.
I am however working on a new project that will hopefully outshine this old gal - it's going to be released some time in the future, and I hope you'll be there to read that was well.
If you can deal with this story ending abruptly with no end in sight, then by all means read on, and dream.
People dream. It's natural. Daydreams you usually control and you can make them whatever you want. Sometimes they get forgotten, sometimes they spring back to life after a long time, or just a heartbeat. Sometimes, they come true.
Last year, I stayed home from school two days because of stomach pains. My mother thought it was some kind of odd flu, mainly because she had it t

“Right…” Sighing, he glanced back at the empty waiting room, surprisingly plain-looking with its whitewashed walls and shiny, checkered floors. Large potted plants and dark grey couches were positioned in neat rows throughout the room, and there was a long table overloaded with various pamphlets and magazines next to the front desk where he stood. Pre-recorded voices greeted him from the ceiling far above: “Welcome to Helena Pharmaceuticals! Your Key to a Better Life!”

As I tucked into the ham and turkey, I chatted with my friends and relatives, catching up on events in their lives, and sharing some of my own anecdotes. One good thing about major occasions is that they provide people who would otherwise drift apart a chance to renew relationships and to just talk.
After stuffing ourselves with food (the turkey this year was excellent), it was time to hand out or receive presents, depending on which end you were on. As usual, the younger children who had been eagerly awaiting this moment all crowded around the adults, forming a screaming and shouting mob. I couldn't help but smile, as I sat with the other teenagers. It was not so long ago that this was a big thing for me too.
After receiving my gifts, I thanked those that gave them to me, and unwrapped them one by one. As per my habit, I meticulously unwrapped them
