But some of you annoy me.
So let me vent. There are just a few things that I can't keep silent on, and hey, what's a journal for if not writing down regrettable rants?
1) We are not the show's main audience. Even me, and I'm at least female, which puts me closer than about 88% of you. Derpy Hooves as a "where's waldo" of MLP is an excellent way for the team to acknowledge and give something to the bronies. But I don't know at what point bronies started assuming that this show was "ours" in some way. Derpy Hooves shouldn't have a major role, that makes no sense and would ruin her. Shipping should not exist in a show aimed at 6 year old girls, honestly, would your parents have let you watch that when you were little? Would you think parents today would let their kids watch that? Trixie under Mare-do-well's hood would have been completely random and made no sense, Trixie was a throwaway c
Blackout DayBlackout Day4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Logging on to the internet today, we've all seen the far-reaching and high profile impact of SOPA Blackout Day protests. Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, the number of sites participating is inspiring. I was also extremely happy and proud to see Equestria Daily shutting down for the day as well. On the other hand, I was dismayed to see the response from some commenters and regulars to the site. Most folks understodd the importance of this issue and the stand the crews were taking by doing this. But a few individuals responded with complaints, whining, and disdain for the protest and the danger SOPA and PIPA present to our community and access to technology and free information for us all.
To those people, I say this- If you think YouTube's policies are bad now, wait unti

My thoughts on the MLP Season 3 finale...First of all, I would like to say congrats to Daniel Ingram for doing a swell job making a musical episode. I don't think I've ever seen this many songs in such a short amount of TV before, and the sheer variety of tunes was quite a treat for the ears. I also loved all the continuity callbacks, like Pinkamena, Spike's 7 hour long bubble bath, etc. The episode was definitely full of emotion, and it definitely affected me in a big way.My thoughts on the MLP Season 3 finale...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Having said that, not all the emotion I felt was good. The heartwarmingness of seeing Twilight bring her friends back to their real destinies quickly gave way to dread when I saw her teleported to an ethereal plane with Princess Celestia who congratulates her, and I instantly started having flashbacks of the final episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion. What followed kind of left me feeling empty, and even though I knew which emotional buttons the episode was supposed to be pushing, its attempts fell flat on me, and left me instead feeling worried.
Support brony artists: 50 Premium Memberships!Hello there everypony. Browsing around deviantART as usual, I found a journal in the bottom of the screen, basically about collecting points, to give away premium memberships to artists. I thought I'd do something similar, because hey, why not?Support brony artists: 50 Premium Memberships!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ummm...why exactly, again?
Okay, this is the thing. deviantART has a lot of very talented artists of the fandom that contribute with great drawings/ comics/ music/ literature, but they don't always get as much support as they deserve. That's why from now until December 25 2012 I'll open a donation pool, in which you can contribute with as many points as you want.
How many points should we donate?
Since I'll be giving away 50 3 month premium memberships, the goal would be 31,800 points. However, I will personally contribute with 636 points (the equivalent of one membership), so, the goal is 31,164 points Of course, if that goal is exceeded, I will continue collecting points an

One thing to consider is where you're putting your work.
Don't I want to put it in the most popular section of the site?
Not really. I know that the first impulse is to put your work right where you think everyone's going to see it immediately. But with 160,000 works posted per day, if everyone posts it all in "digital" or "

My Little Pony
Geeze. Who of thought. A year ago I would have called myself crazy and now here we are. There have been ups and downs. Lots of artwork was made.
Let's give kudos to some people.
First and foremost, I like to thank my little sis who's been so supportive of me and she's a supporter of AppleDash and Twilestia. Haha! Also to all my real life friends who support me. Big shoutout to Jay and Shiney!
Second I must thank Lauren Faust :iconfyre-flye: and Studio B. Without her and the team at Studio B, none of this would've happen. She did something not many could do: Revitalized a franchise that is more than a 30 minute commercial to sell toys. She made something so awesome that everyone can enjoy it. So thank you for everything Lauren and Studio B many times over.
Shout out to Vixy who introduced me to Sonic Rainboom. You ruined my life with MLP!
I like to give a shout out the NeoGaf MLP Community. 36, BakPony, A

Before anything, just allow me to tell just how much I have adored and cherished the love, kindness, support and friendship I have gained from all of you who cared to view what I'd drawn.
Doing these silly (And usually illogical/disturbing) comic-strips and images has literally been one of the highlights in my life, as cheesy and cliché as that may sound, I swear, it's absolutely true. Ever since way back when I started with my couple of watchers right up to this moment with over 19'000 watchers, breaking the 1'000'000 pageview milestone and having amassed over 10'000'000 hits, logging into this account and seeing many, many supportive remarks and friendly comments, watching the favourites rise steadfastly on each deviation, seeing others willing to try improve their own, or return, to drawing (Despite the fact that I still do not wish to be titled as a

This Thursday, April 5, Bento Box will be hosting a silent art auction at the Animation Guild in Burbank CA to benefit storyboard artist Joey Adams and his family. I do not yet have the pleasure of knowing Joey, but the Los Angeles animation community is really rallying around him and his family's current crisis trying to save the life of one of their little boys--- only a couple years after tragically losing their 16-month-old daughter to a similar condition. On Commissions and What I Require of ClientsSo some things went down a couple months back, which resulted in me getting conned out of a good hundred bucks of work. I'm not particularly angry about it, because I have known for years that my trust in strangers over the Internet would inevitably bite me in the butt. As an artist who does not require payment up front and maintains a no-questions-asked refund policy (up to sending the high resolution files), I take a huge amount of risk on myself and must trust that my work will be respected enough to be compensated accordingly. Of course, the day was coming when this strategy of taking all the risk off the client would backfire, and lo it did.On Commissions and What I Require of Clients2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It came. It went.
While I'll be opening up the gates for more coloring commissions in a few days, I figured it would be best to give a heads up to my new clients so they know how the system works, and what they'll be needing.

BroNYcon is a convention specifically for Bronies, held in New York!
For the upcoming convention in January, it has been confirmed that Nicole Oliver, voice of our dear Princess Celestia, as well as Andrea Libman, voice of Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, will be in attendance! Daniel Ingram, the composer for the show, will be making a "virtual appearance" via Skype as well.
Just letting all of you know that this amazing talent will be here this January. In addition, amazing fan-artists such as John Joseco and Pixelkitties, and musicians such as Tarby and ChainAlgorithm, will be making appearances.
BroNYCon was the first MLP:FiM convention, and just continues to grow. Let's see if we can use the power of friendship to make it as big as possible so there can be many, many more!

What Came First...?
A couple years back, our publisher's CEO made a splash in the video gaming blogs and news sites by saying that we upheld our jobs with dignified sincerity, and that we knew the process of making fun and games was anything but fun and games. Of course, considering the hilarious level of integrity professional video gaming blogs adhere to (hilarious!), you could imagine those words were twisted around to single out one phrase. Take out all the previous context, and what's left? "We take the fun out of making video games."
Might as well conclude that Fukishima just started glowing in the dark one morning, St. Elsewhere is a documentary about autism, or JFK was killed by quite a powerful migraine.
The safest course of action when offered an interview by a gaming blog is to simply decline, especially if y

Animation Job FAQ
Q: How can I get a job in animation?
The absolute best thing you can do to get into animation as a career is to go to art school. Not only will you learn how to draw and how to SEE, you will meet people, students and teachers alike, who will give you new perspectives and will likely be the sources of your future jobs. (My first job came from one of my teachers.)
There are several schools that have fantastic animation programs that cover all facets of the atr form. Schools like the one I attended, CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS, will teach you animation (2D and 3D,) character design, storyboarding, bac

A recent "conversation" has brought to my knowledge a group dedicated to "protecting" the character, Princess Celestia, who is from the show, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If you know me, you know that I LOVE the character of Princess Celestia and that I've been a spazztastic little defender of hers ever since I became a fan of the show (My friends, Jandrus13 and Dusty-san know VERY well how I've been about that). I don't remember if I've ever written Journals about how I feel about her, but I know I've ranted and lectured people a bunch in the past about my feelings toward Princess Celestia and putting up logic and a good defense in her behalf for her actions in the show.
Now, it's importa
Princess Luna RantPrincess Luna is best pony. I hate it when people cheapen her character by saying that Nightmare Moon was some separate entity or some sentient magic spell. That's SO 2-Dimensional.Princess Luna Rant3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Nightmare Moon is what she becomes when she's angry. The form of Nightmare Moon is anger fueled by unbearable loneliness and jealousy, but it is still LUNA. One doesn't become a different person when one gets angry. One is still one's self, and is still accountable for their actions. That's why Celestia's forgiveness is so meaningful and the moment is so powerful.
I identify with Luna so much because I have anger issues. Not because I get angry a lot, because I don't, but because I always feel so stupid and vulnerable when the anger ebbs, so I usually stubbornly hang onto it as long as I can. Luna's transformation from Nightmare Moon is the perfect representation of how one feels after anger is gone.
I fully believe that Luna's size and form changes depending on her spiritual state. Much like the phases of t
