[APH] Spreading Awareness - The Return of SOPAFor once, a world conference had gone rather well. Despite some arguments here and there, no one stepped too far out of line and everyone managed to stay on topic. The nations even came to agreements on some things, though mainly by majority and never completely unanimously. When the clock showed that their time was nearly up, Germany rose to discuss one final issue.[APH] Spreading Awareness - The Return of SOPA1 year ago in General Fiction

“I believe we have time to cover one more topic. It’s not one we can do much discussing about at the moment, but rather one I would simply like to inform you of,” he said, straightening out a stack of papers as he did so. “All of you know about the bill called SOPA. What some of you may or may not know is that the bill has made a return, and is once again being discussed by America’s government.”
There were several gasps and exclamations of “what?!” from the various nations sitting at the meeting table. Someone even asked, “America, why didn’t you tell us about th

After nearly two weeks of planning, the weekend America and Canada had picked for their birthday party finally arrived. The two always threw a huge celebration in honor of both of their birthdays, as they were only a few days apart, and it was often the most anticipated party of the year. They always invited everyone they could think of, and the majority of those available that day would attend. They threw it not only for themselves, but for everyone. After all, what's better than getting together with good friends and sharing good food and drinks?
People seemed to arrive in waves, starting with just a few in the morning and increasing in number as the day wore on. By the time the sun began to set, the party had really gotten started. Several nations were scattered about, in the house and in the back yard, socializing and catching up with each other. America could usually be found by the snack table. "Now, now, Envy," Dante started, her tone laced with amusement at her son's attitude. "We have to wait a bit longer for her because she's the first vice. This means she's very special, do you understand that? Much like you were, being the first homunculus…"
Violet optics widened at Dante's words, simply looking over to her with a bit of shock. "…she's like me?" Envy managed to say after a moment, hating the fact that someone else may be as powerful as him.
"No, not at all," The old woman shook her head, her shoulders moving up in a shrug right after. "She may be the weakest, maybe she's the strongest. I won't know until she leaves that bed. But she's different, just like you were. You were the start of the sins; she is the beginning of the vices. So keep that in mind, Envy," Mauve pools closed as Dante

Behind me I could hear Austria calling out for me to slow down, that I was running too far ahead, that he couldn’t keep up. I simply snorted at how pathetic the stuffy aristocrat was, he probably rarely ever leaves his house, and if he ever did, it certainly was NOT to go out running or training. What a sissy…True, he had offered to help me save Holy Rome, but if he can’t even keep up with me, what use is he in a fight?
A few times I tripped over tree roots that were sticking out of the ground, but I saw most coming and kept my balance, continuing running as fast as I could.
I had to find them; I had to save Holy Rome before…Before something terrible happened...
As I ran, I could also hear Hungary’s voice in the background, calling out to me. I couldn
