As the dA Related Community Volunteer, I am blessed to receive some wonderful DD suggestions sent to me by note!Of course I cannot feature them all as Daily Deviations, but I still like many of these that I don't feature. So here's the first of some feature journals with "the best of the rest"! Please enjoy
Of course, the fact that I chose not to feature them yet as DDs doesn't exclude them from still being featured as such in the future

Last year's round of Project Educate hit dA Related as well! This year, rather than reinventing the wheel and simply rephrasing all that was said last time, I will collect them here so that we can focus on some new subjects for the rest of the week. Even outside Project Educate, former volunteers for this gallery such as `ginkgografix have left us many useful articles that can still be used today. Before going into the categories of dA Related, let's have a look at some articles that apply to all of the category;

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a year can fly by. I've made it a practice over the years to sit back and reflect on the year, what went well, what didn't and where I'd like to see the new year go. A year can bring a lot of lessons and without reflection it's hard to ensure that you've taken away everything important from it. I apply this personally and to deviantART and it's that time again
A couple of fun highlights:I got to sit next to Felicia Day and help conduct our interview with her at SXSW. I'm a pretty big fan so this was very cool. Our presence at SXSW was also a v

This is a common question from the Community, sometimes phrased as that question, sometimes phrased as a blunt opinion! This article, written for Project Educate - dA Related, aims to shed a light on this topic. And it's not gonna be brief
Because, no one can simply answer this for other people. This journal will not attempt to do that. Instead I have tried to gather a variety of opinions on this subject, so you can read several views and decide for yourself!
Some of the views below were shared with me through note, others in comments to the poll here. Feel free to chip in there too!there's also more responses left to be enjoyed there - I only selected some from the comments there to pick as many

As written by `ginkgografix in the Guide to the deviantART Related Gallery, The browser scripts and extensions category is for scripts that add new functions to (or modify current functions of) deviantART.com. Commonly these scripts are installed through Greasemonkey, but some are designed to install through web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox. Keep in mind that this category is for functioning scripts, not just ideas for scripts.
This is perhaps one of the most resourceful types of dA Related deviationsBut, how do you create these? In order to find out, I interviewed a couple of creators of scripts, user styles and apps.
Please tell me briefly about yourself and

It's not required from me to say hi but I'll say it anyways: Hi! And welcome to a new edition of Absurd Interviews: Being absurd before it was too mainstream.
I suddenly remembered I had this interview in my notes for so long, I had to publish it as soon as possible. Why? Because apparently I'm like Dory and I tend to forget... stuff...

Seniority Announcement - December 2011This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 800 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.Seniority Announcement - December 20111 year ago in Personal More Like This
:faq29:
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many others who deviate to be recognised
Spirit Day: Make Your deviantART Avatar Purple!Spirit Day, a commemoration to support LGBT teens who face bullying, is Thursday, October 20th. Many people are participating by wearing purple, while others are participating online. Last year on Facebook, millions of people signed up to change their avatar to purple. If you'd like to show your support on deviantART, change your avatar to purple!
As Wikipedia states:
"In early October 2010, Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan promulgated the observance of a new commemoration called Spirit Day, the first observance of which took place on October 20, 2010, in which people wear the color purple to show support for LGBT young people who are victims of bullying. Promoted by GLAAD, many Hollywood celebrities wore purple on this day to show their support of this cause, and many w

The Stars of dAr - `Mirz123The Stars of dAr is a series where I interview one member of the deviantART Related (dAr) community each time, about personal and dA related matters. For today we have `Mirz123! She creates fantasic stamps, sometimes fun and silly, but also often with an important and profound message, and always in her recognisable style. She's also an enthusiastic community member in many aspects, and can be found in many corners of the community. But enough about her from me - I'll hand the floor to Mirz herselfThe Stars of dAr - `Mirz1231 year ago in Community Relations More Like This

Community Projects - UpdateHi! I'm Hunter, your "new" Community Projects volunteer! I hope our time together will be awesome and productive, and to further this goal I've prepared this... um... brief update to let you all know of some changes coming to the Community Projects gallery, and how we're going to continue in 2012! So here we go!Community Projects - Update1 year ago in Community Relations More Like This
Changes to Community Projects
So this year we're going to do things a bit differently. My primary goal as Community Projects CV is to support you, the community. Community Projects doesn't exist solely to run our own projects, we're primarily here to help you out with yours. If you want to run a Project, read this article, as it will explain things in greater detail, and then send a note to $haldron.
If you know of an awesome project, and you think we should know about it too, link it here!
Category Changes/Additions
In the past, we added a lot of categories to Community Projects each year, which ended up cre

Project Educate: Haiku, Senryu, Tanka, and RengaAs part of Poetry Forms week at #projecteducate, we wanted to go into a bit of detail regarding some of the more well-known Eastern forms of writing. The same way there are many forms of Western poetry, there are many forms of Eastern poetry, and ultimately this article will barely begin to scrape the surface of even the forms that it actually touches on, but within this article, there are links to resources that delve further into the subject matter, and all are worth reading if the subject interests you.Project Educate: Haiku, Senryu, Tanka, and Renga2 months ago in Literature More Like This
Haiku & Senryu
Haiku, in the classical Japanese sense, is a small poem comprised of 17 characters known as on (sometimes onji). These characters each represent one unit of sound, and each unit of sound has its own meaning which then contributes to the overall haiku. The 17 on are split into phrases of 5, 7, and 5, which is where the most commonly know
Walkthrough: TestingThis is based off an article I was asked to write for Model Mayhem, I’ve edited it to make it hopefully more interesting and useful to those of you looking to test with agencies, or who want more information about how tests work - this isn’t necessarily an example of a standard test, it’s more to show how unpredictable the world of Fashion is and hopefully to teach you to just roll with it!Walkthrough: Testing9 months ago in Community Relations More Like This
Tests (sometimes referred to online as TFP but only ever called tests in the real world) are when people come together and collaborate - essentially offering their work for free in return for photos for their portfolios.
Tests sometimes involve a full team (hair, make up, styling etc) or sometimes just involve the photographer and a model, there’s no set rules.
Testing: A Vague Walkthrough
The day I’m going to talk about is one of the least pre-planned shoots I’ve ever done - seriously, I thought I was going to have a nice quiet day o
