You have my permission to use these images as long as its not used for horror, violence or exploitation of people. I am always delighted with traditional arts studies, art students and working artists that use my work for their art. Photo manipulations are certainly allowed, and I have no problem with DA prints as long as you follow my rule on how you use my image and that you do some serious work on it before you offer it as a print. I don't mind that you might experiment and learn to use various digital filters, color adjustments and such, but that sort of work should be acknowledged as a process of learning, not a finished work.
I am pleased to be able to help folks learn, as well as produce quality art and develop their visions of the world. Do drop me a note with your work if you use any of my stock, and if you are going to be using it outside of DA I need to know about it as not all uses by all models are allowed.
This concept art is of an area in the world of Dragon Age known as Hightown. Hightown is situated in Kirkwall which was once the center of slave trade in the Tevinter Imperium. The town came to be from an old quarry where slaves would labor away; the area in and around that basin is called Lowtown, and is populated by the poor. The area above the basin is so happily called Hightown and is home to the wealthy.
From the upcoming game, Dragon Age II, set to be released March 8, 2011

During my painting of Hive City I thought It would be cool to document the process, something I've never done before. Since Hive City is basically the most ambitious I've ever painted I thought I should share it with you. I had a blast painting this.
