Official Turian Female sneak peak and N7 Day...Official Turian Female sneak peak and N7 Day2 years ago in Personal More Like This
After 5 years, after 3 games and after much speculation we finally have an official in game Turian female. It's shame that Bioware didn't decide to include Turian female models in the main game, because now it feels like a token girl and not much more. Also the fact that it will be featured in the paid Omega DLC makes it even more bittersweet, but hey it's still better than nothing. The DLC will appear on November 27th and will cost 1200 Bioware/Microsoft points. Tell us what you think about her:
For a little comparison I'll hotlink a picture of Lieutenant Abrudas, the very first Turian female shown in the Mass Effect Evolution comic:
In other news - the first N7 Day is coming our way fast. The celebration is schedueled for November 7th. You can find more information about it on the official Mass Effect facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=380737978668258&set=a.259483477460376.58244.256213217787402&type=1

World War 3 may just be months away, with much of the middle east currently being blown apart by missiles and the locals setting their neighbours on fire, but the real news is that the Twinkie, the USA's primary contribution to world cuisine, could cease to be.
"You eat those?" I hear people ask. Hell no. Never eaten one in my life. There's something about their unnatural, chemical-yellow colour and that they have a half-life rather than a use-by date that just sets off one too many alarm-bells.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that if you read the print on the pack, you'll find asbestos to be a key ingredient.
Even John McClane can't keep one down, and he took out a building full of terrorists with nothing but his bare feet and a Santa hat.
Which leads to my point: Without the Twinkie, there are SO many lines from SO many classic movies that future generations just a

I would suggest just downloading the Adobe Illustrator first to see how you like it. Also it doesn't have the brush sets that the newer ones have so you might want to download a few brush sets. These are the one's I got:

When I save as a Photoshop file, you have to export it. And when you do that, the first box on is labeled color mode. It always has CMYK , and everytime I try to save that it says I don't have enough memory. I don't know if that's true because when I click that box and save it as a RGB file, it works f

If so, I really hope they go the whole hog and make Batman old.
If it were my project, I'd write it so Batman had been at the crime fighting game for decades prior to the alien-in-tights showing up. With Superman around, what use is there for The Batman? The authorities have always been gunning for him, but the public had an uneasy tolerance. Now everyone see him as a dangerous liability.
Of course, Batman is the toughest, most cunning man on the planet. If you could just take him out, it would have been done by now. So Superman is asked to deal with him.
The whole story would be based around the conflict of ideals: both support the concept of justice, but while Superman has faith in the system, Batman sees it as totally impotent and has taken on the responsibility of supporting it on his own shoulders.
And Batman would win.
Batman ALWAYS wins.

Why, then, aren't item's collected on contact?
Why do I have to press a button each time I want to pick something up?
Why do I have to press AND HOLD a button each time I want to pick something up?
Why, in a game, where collecting items is a key part of gameplay, is it so damn hard to get the crosshair to register contact with said item, despite being right on top of it?
I get asked occasionally (well, I think "challenged" is more the word) by some people (snide idiots) if there are any games I do enjoy. Yes, there are many. Too many to list, in fact, so I shall simply summarise:
I enjoy games in which you lose yourself. Games that absorb you into the world on screen. This does not mean the game is some deeply written RPG epic, it just means that you forget you're playing it and feel more like you're living it, be it a simple 2D platformer or fast and furious 3D beat-em-up.

Ode to the WiiMy last journal seems to have gone over pretty well. So since the Wii is slowly starting to come to a close before Nintendo's next big console release (The Wii U), I thought it would be fun to talk about games which are for the Wii and which might've been overlooked for one reason or another.Ode to the Wii3 years ago in Personal More Like This
It should be noted that not ALL of these are the most AMAZING and BEST GAMES EVER! But I do think that at least 90% of these games should at least be looked at. If you have a Wii and complain that it doesn't have any games that interest you, I strongly recommend you go through this list. If you see a game you haven't heard about or played, rent it and try it out for yourself. There are a lot of gems which didn't get any press or were generally overlooked because of excessive amounts of "shovel-ware" titles clouding up retail stores.
The general perception of the Wii is that there aren't any good games for it. Prove the naysayers wrong and check these titles out. The best part? Most of these titles

Pageviews. Followers. Number of high profile/talented artists you've earned the "respect" of. I'm not talking about gaining exposure for the purpose of making MONEY either now or in the future with your work. I'm talking about just wanting numbers for no reason.
Stop focusing on them.
So far I've noticed two different types of people. The one who works diligently on their trade, but focuses too much on their numbers. Profusely wondering why they can't meet the popularity levels of That Other Guy™ when they should be asking "what can I do to improve my abilities so I can succeed and be happy with myself"? This person loses themselves. They become depressed. They contemplate leaving galleries behind. They let it eat at them for months and it even cuts into their lives. The Avengers - ReviewHonestly I don't have much to say other than it's just really awesome. You don't need to have seen Captain America, Iron Man 1 and 2, The Hulk, or Thor to understand what's going on, but it most certainly does help. The Avengers - Review3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The Avengers is probably one of the most epic movies I have seen since the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter. It's up there. It's not perfect, and some moments seem to drag on a bit (mostly around the middle), but every key moment is accentuated properly, every line delivered in such a way that you don't miss out on what's going on, every action scene composed in a way you aren't confused, and overall the whole thing is just a joy to watch.
What's really fun about this movie is that they don't hold back. Ever. Everything you want to see in a movie about the Avengers is pretty much up on this screen. You wanna see Thor and Iron Man duke it out? You got it! You wanna see an army of aliens attacking a city? Got it. You wanna see Tony Stark deliver hilarious banter aga
Ego Trigger: Egos 101 (complete)I brainstorm and write a lot of thoughts down during the week, since I usually have time on the bus, inbetween classes, and after homework. As a result, I've been trying to work out more details on the Ego Trigger universe. These are all pretty tentative, so please keep in mind I might change some things.Ego Trigger: Egos 101 (complete)4 years ago in Personal More Like This
SO. I might as well start at the basics, because I know people have asked me things like "What is Ego Trigger" and "What are Egos".
Ego Trigger is the name of the comic/story/universe that my characters reside in. I'm hoping to work on it as my main sort of comic, but in general it's the setting that I have my OCs in for drawings and simple comics. In this setting, there exist common and widespread anomalies called Egos. In a nutshell, an Ego is the physical manifestation of someone's character. If someone is kind and calm, their Ego will reflect that. If they are easily angered and boisterous, the Ego will symbolize that. When you see someone's Ego, you can get a good g

Their "solution" to this is to shut down the government (something which isn't possible in any other nation on the planet), which will cost more, decrease public spending, lower the demand for imports, damage global economy and generally tarnish the U.S's international reputation even further?
The rich making others suffer in an effort to get their own way.
I believe that's called "tyranny".

The Leviathan and the Death of HopeWarning: contains spoilers concerning the Leviathan DLC, Mass Effect 3 and my notions about what good writing is. Duh.The Leviathan and the Death of Hope2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are moments when I wish I could just turn off my writer's sense at a whim and "just go with it". Ignore that a story in a game, or a movie, or a book, or a TV show is flawed in my opinion, just to enjoy the views, get an adrenaline rush from all the flashing colors and have fun. And truth be told - it usually works that way... Just not for the universes I tend to care about. If you got me invested in your franchise, I will expect you to deliver the goods. 'Tis how the cookie crumbles.
Which brings me to the Leviathan DLC. I've seen a lot of positive reviews and emotions towards it popping up all over the internet before I was even able to check it out myself. My hopes were high, and, initially, I loved it. It had a sense of exploration Mass Effect 3 was seriously lacking and the TGES Mining Base really reminded me of Noveria... It was spot on.

Rest in peaceRIP Buki (full name Kabuki): August 1998 - June 2012Rest in peace3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A month or two ago, we noticed that he was drooling. Thought it was old age, but then we felt lumps in his chin and found out that he had mouth cancer. We did what we could (antibiotics, bottle-feeding him, cleaning him because he couldn't clean himself), but in the past few days, it was just too much: his mouth had tumors that misaligned his bottom teeth, he could barely eat because of it, he didn't want to do anything, and he was bleeding. We finally decided that keeping him anymore would be selfish and didn't want him to suffer.
Took him to the vet an hour ago. He kept burying himself in the familiar scent and warmth of the blanket from home. Vet gave him a sedative so he would relax and not feel any pain before the injection. He slowly became more peaceful and still, and we held him while the actual injection was put in.
He was such a quiet cat. He really didn't deserve this.
Late Lesson LearnedWhile doing research for the new SYAC, I actually stumbled upon something truthful on TVtropes.org. Usually I take everything from that site with a grain of salt, but this one bit actually was surprisingly honest and truthful about webcomics:Late Lesson Learned2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Webcomics work on a very different set of standards than other fiction. Almost all webcomic authors are working pretty much entirely alone as they both draw and script their comics and most do not plan any further along than to the end of their current story sometimes not even that far.
Many of them try to adhere to a schedule they aren't really capable of meeting, resulting in them rushing to meet their deadline and making mistakes that should be avoidable. So many of the good 10% lack qualities standard in traditionally professional works. This can be because of the lack of editorial input as well as the lack of lead time. Not all webcomics suffer from this, though, and even the ones that do can still be interesting. Arguably, some str

$4 Billion? (£2.5 Billion, in real money)
Not as much as Pixar.....but then, if Lucasfilm were a house, JarJar would be the devaluing, sh*t-stained carpet a new owner would have to deal with.
And, no, I'm not going to denounce it. Disney buying Lucasfilm? That has potential, and I'm not talking Star Wars, here.
If I've read the press release on the Disney corporate website correctly, they now own EVERYTHING – including Lucasarts, which is a division of Lucasfilm.
Monkey Island/Day of the Tentacle/Sam & Max + Disney? That could be amazing!
As for the (inevitable) Star Wars 7, I'm really hoping they use the Thrawn Trilogy. In fact, I'm betting they do. Let's face it; Disney haven't ever had an original idea, that's why they keep buying up other people's work, and if they're hoping to have something released by 2015 they'll have no choice but to dive into existing material.
Of course, if they produce a Satur
