"I wish you're still here with me " You whispered sadly, laying your hands on marble pavement.
It had been almost a month since your boyfriend's death and accepting it was still the hardest thing for you to do. Losing him was giving a big part of you away. He was the one you were looking for, and you were happy to find him finally. You were living happily when death suddenly took him away from you.
You only gained the courage to visit his resting place two weeks after the burial. Every day, you would bring flowers and talk to him as if he wasn't gone.

The embers of the fire that had made her dinner had already gone out, and the wind was cold and blowing… Yet to the young girl in the nipa hut the night was surprisingly warm.

I'm free also,
Well as free as the people want to be.
I fixed things with him too,
Well as much as I could.
We're close again,
In very different ways from back then though.
I hate being grown up,

We never would have been.
Did you grow up like you wanted?
Am I really that hero?

Her eyes caught the sight of two young boys in school uniform. They were walking down the path passing by her house while chatting gaily, holding on to their light backpacks hanging by their shoulders. One boy, the older one she knew as Gondoy, was chatting a lot more than the other, whose name Philippines did not know. As Gondoy talked, the other boy spent most of the time laughing at his jokes and listening. As she watched them she couldn't help but notice a hint of discomfort in the face of the younger boy, so she sighed, noticing the clear trickles of sweat rolling down their foreheads.
The sun is hot. I'll ask if th
