I've been seeing lots of crickets around lately. They are one of the few insects that don't give me the creeps and I thought, "Why are there no cricket superheroes?" Probably because the cricket can't do anything much on the cool side. Doesn't climb walls, shoot webs etc. But MAN can those little things JUMP! This guy, The Cricketeer, can jump like a mile when he really has to. He has slightly tougher skin than most humans. About as tough as plywood maybe. Seemed like the right toughness to be in proportion to a carapace. He can also tell what the weather is going to do before it happens...hm, there's his alter ego right there. TV weatherman! I don't know if thats a real ability of the insect but there are rumors about it. And he can produce a loud chirping noise that can stun bad guys. Or annoy coworkers. Whichever is needed. Although, if he did it around his coworkers it would defeat the whole secret identity thing so scratch that. Oh yeah, he can communicate with real crickets.

Boy is it fun to paint stuff almost without layers, there is something extremely satisfying about it. Though I still managed to screw up lots of things here.. but oh well, it was an experiment after all.
Ersalt the cheetah looking over a farmhouse in the bushveld. The character is from Erdwolf's in-progress comic. There is very little authentic African furry art which I am very much looking forward to it!
Unfortunately the scanned image refused to cooperate with me, so it's not as cleaned up as I would like.
H: "When it happened, I was 6 years old. Everything was ok. I woke up early in the morning and immediately started to think: what will I do today? And then I remembered something. Yesterday dad recorded on cassette the new cheerful song. Yes, I wanted to listen to it. I jumped out of my bed and went to the tape recorder. Before I had play this song, suddenly my father rushed into my room. "Get dressed! Hurry!" "What for?" He began to dress me. "Dad, you forgot to put on my pants. What happens?" "Our house is burning!" "Really?!"
My mother wasn't at home. She couldn't believe what had happened. Someone called her and said: "Your house is on fire." We managed to save documents and some things. Nobody knew whose guilt was this.
It was quite some time ago i haven't been posting any art for this past years, the main reason of my absent was I was very frustrated with myself and my skills, that is why for the past 3 years I switch to full time Gunpla building instead, and during those time of artistic depression, things are not getting any better, as more and more avoided incident and events that further pulled me down, and it was tiring and frustrating, but I still have to keep on moving, in a way i have switch myself to autopilot.
At those depressing time I was looking for inspiration and to my surprise Forrest Gump movie gave me a bit of comfort and encouragement during those hard time, a very simple story of a simple man doing great things even without him knowing it and the message was so powerful that it inspired me to sketch out this little doodle on what happen if Alphaleo met Forrest Gump in the park, and i believe this is what forrest would say.
For 2012, I was hoping to get back into drawing again. I am not sure will i get this color but for now i just keep it as a sketch.
