Another view of the outfit I made for the Ponygeist Phoenix Brony Meetup costume contest/Halloween this year! It was a lot of fun to make. :D

The cutie marks (on the shirt and shoes) were painted with fabric paint, the rainbow trim is hand-sewed on, the wig and tail were made/styled with Kanekalon wefts, and the wings are wire, craft foam, and yet more paint (2 bottles of acrylics + fabric medium). Do let me know what you think! ♥

P.S. This unexpectedly made it onto the Equestria Daily nightly roundup post! Thanks to the lovely anonymous submitter. :iconrdsoawesomeplz:

Rainbow Dash!

Made for a MLP group I did with my friends :)

Everyone seems to love my wig...A LOT. I do too! I feel it's the only thing that really "makes" the costume.

The wig is actually 1.5 wigs put together. It started as a Rainbow "Punk" style wig. Bangs were restyled and and another half of a Rainbow wig was added to make the ponytail. Voila.

This costume was really rushed, made in 2 days actually, and I was a bit rushed getting into it the day my group wore it, so there are little things I still need to do to it or change on the shorts, wigs, and track jacket that I just didn't have time to do.

Jacket was bought in the L.A. Fabric District. I ironed on the letters and the bf has an embroidery machine that we used to make the giant cutie mark (and the cutie mark on the shorts). Ideally I had wanted to modify the jacket in such a way that it already had wings attached to it, or could have a slit for the wings to poke through...but I simply ran out of time to do anything more than put the appliques on.

But, for a rushed together costume...I'm pretty happy with it and more importantly, it was SO much FUN to wear!

Welcome to the durpy kids party! These costumes were the best thing of the whole weekend! My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is an amazing show and I just was so happy that we all decided to do this. =D

Long story short about me: I have been a fan of MLP since its original airing all those years ago in the 80's. From 1986 to 1991-92 I owned EVERY MLP toy in creation. Including the castle, paradise estates, and more. XD When the series was redone for today, I was skeptical, but it turned out to be awesome.

Rainbow Dash is the pony I'm most like. (Well, throw in a bit of Twilight Sparkle and you got me) And when we decided to make ponies, I was so quick to do Rainbow Dash for the sake of the cute design I had thought of. I love it to pieces and its great fun to have a little aviator coat and goggles for her. (And little wings!)

In this photo is our whole group. Starting from the front and working our way back, we have:
FeliciaCat as Applejack
Myself as Rainbow Dash
Pink-Haired Superstar as Sorin' of the Wonderbolts
K3K4 as Big Macintosh

Photo is by the very talented and awesome Lionel Lum <3

Oh hey! It's Rainbow Dash again!

I brought this with me to Katsucon, but barely wore it for more than an hour...over a span of 2 days. Oops.

I still want to alter how the ears attach to the wig, but I was able to attach the wings semi-permanently to the jacket, and I'm super happy about that! Of course in this photo you can't see what I'm talking about XD

Huge huge loves and thanks to Anna Fischer for taking this photo!

An awesomely fun group cosplay I did with friends at AnimeNext 2011! We made some of the Grand Galloping Gala costumes from My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic. We'd been looking forward to wearing these costumes for ages! It was definitely the most fun I had all weekend.
