What is art?After researching many, many stories/information about what to add into an art portfolio, I've come across everyone who says "Stay away from anime-manga style."
After much contemplating and so much thought, you should not put any anime-manga style art work in your portfolio UNLESS it has something to do with your field of study. BUT, it should not have any fan art. NO FAN ART.
Many wonder why anime-manga style is looked down on so much, and even I wonder that. So what exactly is art? How can it be measured?
Is it how "beautiful" it is? How colorful it is? How the composition fits? How the value brings depth? Or perhaps, maybe even the meaning behind the image? Anime-manga should not be an off limit style, BUT it should not be your only style.
