You said you would come, are you really going to back out now? I mean, come on. What would Dash think?"

AUTHOR'S NOTES: I was in #fimfiction having some fun chatting and I decided to write up a single pony scene just for the fun of it. This is what I thought of. It took me an hour or two to finish it. I figured it was long enough to post as a shortie, though I eventually expanded it a little later on. Don't expect anything amazing here, just a little comedy. I'll get back to my serious stories soon.
Rarity trotted her way into the library, the door held open by her magic. There in the main foyer were Applejack and Pinkie Pie, who regarded her with smiles. "Afternoon there, Rarity. Nice of ya to make it," Applejack said.
"Anything to help out a friend, of course! Speaking of, where is Twilight?"
"She's still upstairs, doin'... somethin' or other. She'll be down eventually. We're just waitin' for the pegasi now."
Rarity nodded, closing the library door a

He always does this. Every time he comes back home from the mafia he's fucking pissed off and I have to deal with it. He makes me stop playing my games and have his idea of 'fun' to cheer him up. But seriously I'm still recovering from last night when he handcuffed me to the bed. So today I thought I would have my revenge.
10:37pm that night.
A blonde figure walked through the door sighing, I didn't stop playing Mario cart to look at him. I already knew he was annoyed. "What's up Mels?"
He sighed again "The usual..." he moved over to the sofa I was on and sat down by me "I swear I'm going to end up killing all those little twats."
I paused my game and looked at him. He stared into my eyes telling me what he wanted. But no... Oh no he's no getting it, it my turn for some 'Fun' I smirked at the thought and he just stared at me weirdly.
I decided I would start it now, so I slowly moved my face closer to his while having a massive smirk on my face. "Awh did somebody upset my melly?" I aske

It was a cold and windy day of autumn, colder than the weather ponies had predicted, but the sun was high in the sky and warmed the ponies from its glow. Like everyday, ponies tended to their tasks. Some enjoyed the coolness of the breeze while reading a delightful book, some worked hard to buck the very last apples off the branches before the freeze, and others were tucked inside sipping some warm cocoa. Like everyday, ponies had their ups and downs; a humongous party for a loved granny, a foal tripping on a rock calling for her mommy. Each and every pony concerned by the events of their daily life.
It had been a full month since her the local mailmare had taken a day off, the very first she ever took one would tell you. None had ever known the true reason for it, nor would anypony ever know for sure. All of them were glad of course when she would return and deliver again the letters and precious packages, the day right after. Only a single day had passed but it was enough for many to

There's a storm raging outside.
I oughtta be out like a light, so why the hay am I not asleep? I mean sure, there's this beautiful mare asleep and snuggled against me, which is a cool new thing, but you'd think it'd help, right? I mean, I can normally fall asleep in no time, but tonight is just special I guess.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here, and nopony ever gets ahead of Rainbow Dash. Heh.

My work tonight was supposed to be a cinch. All I had to do was whip up a big thunderstorm that would last most of the night. I should have been back home chillin' before the storm started, but just as I'd gotten the clouds ready to start pouring, I noticed this big wild thunderhead blowing toward Ponyville from the Everfree Forest. Obviously I couldn't let that happen. Wild weather mixing with pegasus weather makes for some seriously bad mojo, so I had to spend like another three hours up there keeping those storms apart.
Finally, the Everfree
But Why Balloons?Luna's moon was concealed by a thick canopy of clouds, the streets of Ponyville were silent and dark. The only light to illuminate the visible town came from the window of Ponyville's library, as a small orange foal gazed out from the glass with a sigh. It was evident to her that Rainbow Dash had once again not cared for her job, but it only made the filly admire her more. The pegasus rose to her hooves as she smiled at her idols laziness. "Ok, so what's next?" She asked, looking over her shoulder to the other two foals. But Why Balloons?3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"We could try romance writing?" The adorable unicorns voice pleased the pegasus, though it was quickly countered by her friends choice of task.
"Really, romance writing? What would that cutie mark even look like?" Scootaloo would never understand her friends over enthusiasm when it came to romance, she was just like Rarity, though that was slightly understandable seeing as they were sisters.
"Well we don't have a lot to work with, we might as well try it." Sweetie Bell

"I didn't think I needed to tell you to play fair!"
The two of us just got so caught up in the competition. If I knew it was going to lead to me never seeing her again, my best friend, I would have never let myself lose my cool.

"Did it come yet? Did it? Did it did it did it?" asked Twilight Sparkle excitedly as she shook Spike, her dragon friend and assistant.
Spike grabbed the sides of his head to stop his eyes from spinning. "Calm down, Twilight. What are you're waiting for anyways?"
"A letter from the princess of course! Her last letter said that she was going to give me a new assignment! I've tried waiting patiently but I just can't." Spike stuck out his hand to try to count out how many hours that would be, but quickly gave up. "Sorry Twilight, I haven't felt anything yet."
Twilight turned off her horn and looked to the floor in disappointment, dropping the hovering notebook and calculator. As Spike turned away to leave, his stomach

No matter how many times you continue to do something, you obviously did it a first time, too.

There's a first time for everything.
You should keep this in mind as we introduce you to the protagonist of this story; well, antagonist really.
Kitten Cutsalot. You may think she was given her name due to her bloodthirsty nature, but if you presumed such a thing I would have to tell you that you were wrong. She was merely unlucky enough to be born with such an outlandish name.
On the contrary, Kitten's home life was rather normal, which might surprise you at first, as we all know far too well that Kitten has a knack for killing things.
However, like I stated earlier on, there is a first time for everything, therefore, there must have been a first time that Kitten took the life of another, that is the story I am about to lay before you.

Scootaloo awoke, the fresh morning lifting her out of her bed in Ponyville. She sighed softly, a very tiny wind in a high place. Insignificant.
That word plagued her. It came up in myriad ways. Lesser, nobody, the worst was worthless. That label stuck to her like burdock in her fetlocks, driving her to buck it off. In late middle school she'd taken up the art of practical drafting and became interested in architecture. Without her old plan in life, making new ones for others felt good.
Plans and drawings and half-done schemes papered the walls. Pictures of houses, street lamps, toys and steampunk clocks sat drafted on the white-on-blue-paper in the sunlight. They'd started as a hobby when she was a yearling, but the hobby turned into an asset, an asset into a career as a vital part of city planning for the Mayor of Manehatten.

Twilight Sky Over Canterlot
I woke up with my muzzle pressed tight against the rough cast of a blue plastered wall, and for a moment, I was sure I was still dreaming.
Nopony. Just the blue wall and me.
Yes, I remembered, that's right, I'm not dreaming, as my eyes adjusted and the features of my old dorm room at Canterlot U slowly slid back into place. I'm not dreaming, I'm back here again. I shuffled around in the bed. I'd kicked the sheets off in the night and they lay in a heap on the floor right where Spike's little basket used to sit. He used to hate when I'd do that! Hehe.
My attention shifted to the very foot of the bed, where I contemplated the unfamiliar sight of my old window. I gently moved some books off the sill and unlatched the window with my mouth.

It had been nearly a year by that point; only three days shy of the anniversary of Rainbow's disappearance. It seemed almost everypony, everypony 'cept for me that is, had given up on seeing her again.
I knew she wasn't gone.
I knew she wasn't dead; she couldn't be. Rainbow would never do that; she would never give up.
It was growing dark. Work had been more stressful than usual that day. Big Mac went and got himself hurt, so I had to work twice as hard without his help.
As always, I was sitting patiently in my usual spot, waiting for her.
"Just a few more hours, and I'll turn in," I thought to myself.
I could feel myself starting to nod off right there in the middle of the square when I heard a familiar voice call my name.
"Um Applejack, do you have a moment?"
It was Twilight. She had this very concerned looked on her fa

"Your Highness, it's here. Just like you wanted."
It was finally nightfall in Canterlot. The funeral had ended hours ago.

Her guard saluted and gave a sharp whistle. At once, a platoon of muddy royal guards trooped into the throne room. With them however, was a dirty, pink casket. Celestia got up and smiled.
"Leave us," she commanded. The guards obeyed at once.
Celestia circled the casket. So this was the pony who caused so much trouble. This was the pony who came back to haunt her friends. Celestia grinned. That was the whole reason she wanted the casket here. She came back.
Celestia used her magic to lift open the casket's cover. Inside laid a bright pink pony. Her front hooves were placed above her chest. She wore a content look of peace of her face. Derpy Hooves popped her grey mare's face into the baking drawer and pushed a few things around with her nose. Her vibrant deep gold eyes nearly glowed, rich in fascinations, in the half light - only marred by the fact that they pointed in two different directions. Using her good eye she could see an egg beater, a few measuring spoons, a cake tester and ah yes, there it was, the pastry piper. She took the cloth bag up in her mouth and, carrying it gingerly by a corner, trotted across the kitchen towards Carrot.
She stopped for only just a teeny tiny moment by the fridge.
Derpy smiled sheepishly around the white cone of the frosting piper and laid it carefully down near Carrot Top, who was devoting her utmost concentration on spreading a thick white glob of sugary frosting between two cake rounds which stood tall and proud on their wire rack.
Carrot took a step back, assessing her cake, and pivoting the spatula held in

It had been many many pony generations since the clacking and clattering of young hooves had regularly enlivened the halls of Canterlot Castle, and Princess Celestia knew it. Even in the best of times there was more arthritic creakings of limbs from stiff and stiffening old diplomats and dignitaries than ponies at play, and sometimes she wondered if the life were going out of the old place.
But now the hammer and nails had come out and the constant buzz and flutter of pegasuses around the old south tower had stirred in the Princess memories of livelier days of fun and play in the wide marble halls, and that is how an invitation made its way from her study to the Ponyville Publick Library. The Princess had spent many weeks anticipating her student's arrival and the evening finally came late on
