Beautiful PeopleWhat of the manBeautiful People4 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
who stands before you,
Having tragically lost his wife
on the backend of life,
now sits in front of his television set;
harboring thoughts of his children,
before they grew up
and moved on.
Is this man's suffering
than the one with empty hands
who has never known such things?
Though it seems to me
the latter of the two,
couldn't possibly know
what he's missing.
And what of the single mother
down on her luck for a lifetime;
now standing in front of the podium,
daughter clad in the cloths of achievement.
Does her new found pride
outweigh the hardships she's faced?
I doubt it,
but we take all we can get.
These are the people,
the truly beautiful people
who know what it means to fight
and do without.
For they can truly appreciate life,
with words like;
the world is hopeless
but I love it anyway.
I've LearnedGrowing up hardI've Learned4 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
I've learned a few things
Sometimes the best times
Can be found
In the worst places
And the worst times
Can be found anyway
Even our best intentions
Can often yield
The worst results
And they'll hate you for it
Just the same
Can cost more than it's worth
When surrounded by those
Who have nothing
When you're staring it in the face
Because it's not the same
When you see it coming
That courage can take form
In the most unlikely individuals
Can overcome us all
Of the line that exists
Between a victim of the environment
And a contributor of it
Because once crossed
Many never find their way back
In the end
When all the chips are on the table
You'll be lucky
To have three dimes watching your back
Because in the end
It's usually us against the world
So go easy friends
Because you never know
What's around the next corner

or just freaks with chemistry.
Maybe we'll exist beyond tomorrow.
I don't concern myself
with such things.
I exist purely for the moment
as it beckons me to see:
locked doors and fantasies,
searching for extremes.
Discovering limits to push beyond,
fulfilling the wildest of dreams.
With no laws from governed society,
no barbed wire to get in the way,
no keep out signs or rules to abide by,
just instinct and a will to play.
So follow me over the edge,
let us thrash and wreck the way.
All I ask in return:
a pleasant distraction to ease the pain;
something to cloud my thoughts and mind.
Let me escape the day to day.

I first stepped into the world
Was better than home
Two years later
And ten thousand miles
Landed in jail
Standing before a judge
With no one to call
I was truly
on my own
I learned quickly
To count on no one
And to shield
Any and all
This served me well
Even after jail
And the few times
I went back
But now it's a hindrance
Love to call it

The last beat of a heart
My heart, her heart
The whole world has a heart
Thrumming to the rhythm of the end
Time is the essence
And their heart is mine
You lovers, bleed
Designed to torment, hurt, and lie
It's the last hour
The last moment
The last beat
And I'm running out of time
The last dream of a night
Sweet night, black night
The whole world in the night
Ripping out the stars in a maddened dance
Fear is the wonder
And I fear the night
You devils, scream
Dance on my nightmare, strange and bright
It's the last hour
The last moment
The last dream
And I'm running out of time
The last voice to be heard
Soft voice, strong voice
I cannot hear my own voice
Frozen, but the cold is a thrilling song
Life leads to death
And death is my bride
You mortals, bleed
Scream in your morbid fancies of life
It's the last hour
The last moment
The last breath
And I'm running out of time

how big of a mistake you were

A Light In The Fog
The long nights were dark and the short days seemed darker
The sun tries to rise but even the moon's glow is brighter
I'm just searching for something to give me a sense of hope
Even though I'm another typical fool who should just learn to let go
Eyes grow dim as time goes on
It's a sin to be this strong
I'm going through life and only seeing blurry faces
It's too harsh when all forms of trust are blind
I've walked this world and noticed nothing really changes
Every step seems futile and every dream is a sleeping lie
All souls cannot be shrouded
All hope cannot be abandoned
I needed a reason / To keep me breathing
So please pay heed to the pleas / I don't want the dim lights to leave
And then I caught a glance of you and instantly knew
That I gave up too easily, thinking you wouldn'

Slowly Karin opened her eyes. She was in her room, on her bed, surrounded by people! Blinking her eyes, she slowly sat up, and the people in her room came into a better focus. Yuzu was there, Toshiro was there, Hana and Ami and Ryohei and Heita and Kei and Kazuya were there, and everyone else in her class was there. Did did something happen? she asked. Her sister handed her a glass of water and stroked her hair.
You fainted right in the middle of class! Heita exclaimed.
Yeah, it was so sudden! You just slid out of your chair! Yuzu said a worried look on her face. Daddy already looked at you, and he said that youre fine. I was really worried! You just wouldnt respond or anything!
Yeah, we really freak

This was very different from home. But she would have to get used to it, the sooner, the better...
Toshiro Hitsugaya was not a happy camper. In fact, he was extremely unhappy. This fact could be blamed on several things. Firstly, it was Saturday, and nine in the morning at that, which, by his standards, was definitely way too early to be up. Secondly, he was awakened by a shrill voice of one and only Rangiku Matsumoto accompanied by all of his other beloved cousins, and for the size of this godforsaken town, that was way too many girls for him to handle. Well and thirdly, there was a girl sleeping in a room next to his.
Yes, Toshiro thought grimly, today was definitely not going to be his day.
Karin Kurosaki was, in fact, not that happy either. She was sitting in her bed, freshly waked up, with quite a severe jet lag, and surrounded by rather large gathering of unfamiliar teenage girls.
"Hi Karin," sounded a familiar voice from the door and after she focused her blurry sight,

No one thought to question this,
that Tom would skip start off the dock
at 2 am, overserved and belligerent.
"You need new friends," Jill told him,
concerned about water safety.
Was it their first date? I think so;
he would have made it a dare.
Did I mention moonlessness?
Makeshift slalom with a dropped ski?
Jack skippered the cigarette boat
with bat-like accuracy that night,
eyes closed, for all we knew.
How you spun Two Princes in my
brain that hot Wisconsin summer;
B-15 on the old jukebox at Norton's.
Sweet, if not quite comparable to
Paradise by the Dashboard Light:
that legend lives on, some say.
A. I didn't need to 'know right now'
nor did I hope to champion the world
in endless mercurial requiem.
B. But at some point, I'd meant to
apologize for teaching you the Macarena
and for the endless salsa evenings.
Stealthy magic leapt like quicksilver,
bluegill flashing in mill pond shallows.
Watery stories hardened to durable lore.

Flitting heartbeat, sparrow high,
twisting round the mountain's eye,
tracing breath of shattered skies
and filling velvet palms.
Falling sparrow, cry of stone,
wings of mist and powder bone
sipping, slipping from thy throne
within their crimson throng.
Treading now, beneath the clouds
As what was once so heaven bound
now falling, falling, to the ground
And singing silent songs.
Fly no more, above the arcs
singing side thy fellow Larks
curl beneath their shadows dark
and sing your silent songs.
Your flitting heartbeat, Sparrow high,
now sings of silent songs.

The chill in the breeze,
The frost on the ground,
Crisp on a moonlit night.
A young boy's figure
Glides through the streets,
His breath a clouded fog.
Eyes like crystals,
Hair like snow,
He walks with staff in hand.
Alone in the world,
Unseen by all,
He strides like a ghost through the town.
Young children seen
Through a window pane,
Bask in the glow of the hearth.
Unseen goes the boy
Who stares unnoticed and lost
At the joy before his eyes.
A tentative move,
A soft hand to the glass,
Which freezes beneath his touch.
He turns away,
To the dark of the night
And raises his head to the sky.
A tear flows unseen,
Silent and soft,
To be dashed on the frozen earth.
Calling winds forth,
Around him to swirl,
His feet lift off from the ground.
Invisible and alone,
He flies higher until
He melds with the sky and the stars.
"I want to be seen
And I want to be heard."
Only one hears this desperate boy's cry.
The Man in the Moon
Stares down on the scene,
At the lost and forgotten child.

Red Riding Hood's CabaretA dancing girl with fiery hair,Red Riding Hood's Cabaret2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Twirling smoke around her finger
Dances in darkness for a sea of howling wolves
Unclothed, her emptiness is put on stage
To burn in the spotlight
As claws scratch at the floor
She plucks a hot cigarette from one of the fingers
Puts it to her lips and takes a warm sultry drag
"Look, but don't touch" she mutters,
Stepping just close enough for a claw to rip into her thigh
And she whispers into the snarling crowd
"What more do you want?"
as her hips and crimson lips rock smoothly and tempt softly
And while her legs move, her eyes dance and smile,
Unsolvable mazes of golden brown for irises.
A subtle wink gives wolves the night of their lives.
Sequins stun, glitter falls,
and the cabaret is full to burst of testosterone
Roaring with the stench of festering whiskey
But all eyes are on the girl, with a hood of scarlet hair
Tempting wolves with whispers and lies
Of a night alone with fire

And you're standing there
Watching the sun go down
I wanna be everywhere
If I'm feeling you around
We just get blended by the light
Looking at each other so blessed
Loving and holding the one beside
Messing with our hair poorly-dressed
My heart beats as loud as a thunder
And I'm hoping you can't hear it
Suns last ray's rising and going under
Your holding my hand in the heat
To keep this moment in my heart
I do everything for additional time
But don't force me to go back and restart
Can't stand to see you're not mine
Love's no logical thing my dear
And every beat of our hearts confirm
That hurt is made of a soul's tear
But it also shows the way to return
Is this lonely way a real life vision
When you just mean so much
To me and my way and every decision
Awaiting your smile, awaiting your touch
Imagine a world without you
Would mean imagine no sun
If so there is no life for me too
I would rather be shooted by a gun
So lets hold hands and stand still
To let this glim

It wouldn't be as bad as its going to be now. Hes slamming his shoulder against the door, its splintering, pushing the dresser away. I try to push it back but hes stronger than me. I flee to the other side of the room, cower, waiting for the pain.
He's inside now. Splinters off wood are embedded in his arm, it j
