This is a relief print I did for my BFA Senior Exit Show. It is made using a five layer reduction. I started with a bottom layers as a flat blend roll on the bottom from grey to transparent. I continued to use blends in almost every layer but with a lot of transparency in the ink, so that the bottom layer would continue to affect the layers on top.
This series is about my ideas of spirituality, Buddhism and nature. The idea of the forest as a temple and the idea of mystery.
This print is 3ft x 2ft and is printed without borders on Japanese kitakata paper.

I did a series of cyanotypes of the mountains and used them as a way to play with mood and setting in relation to the linoleum block. The cyanotypes were a lot of fun but ended up being very unpredictable. I had to develop them in my bathtub because these prints are so freaking huge. My bathtub wasn't actually big enough for the paper so I just had to shove it in there a little in order to develop them after exposure.
