Loving a MaidenThere was once a man
In a faraway land
Who fell in love
With a beautiful maiden.
This man lived away from the city
For he was shunned.
But that made his love for the maiden
Only that much stronger.
One day his love
Could be fought no longer.
He went to the town to find the maiden
And tell her how he truly felt.
The men of the town, however,
Did not like the lover's entrance.
They told him to leave, and even tried to kill him,
But nothing would stop him from seeing his love.
He barged into the castle
And went up to the maiden.
She screamed, his entrance was very unexpected.
Even the maiden knew this man.
He tried to tell her how he felt,
But the guards would not allow it.
They tried to barge in and kill him,
Stop him from saying what he needed to say.
So he took the princess into his arms
And escaped as fast as he could;
The men were hesitant to hurt him
When he had royalty in his grasp.
So he took her home
So that he could speak to her alone.
But she would not listen,
She just screamed
The Mean Streets: Chapter 1 A loud crash awoke everypony in Ponyville. That is, all for the lavender pony who caused it. Coming from the library, several loud crashes in repetition continued to wake the town like the crow of a giant rooster. Leaves and branches shook and even fell from the library's mast, thudding to the ground loudly. Inside, the main room was a mess. All the shelves had been knocked over, books were scattered about, and there even charred marks in the wall. The magical mare Twilight Sparkle stood in the center of the madness, panting. She lowered her horn, another glow of magic energy beginning to form around her horn. Spike, her small dragon assistant, came down the stairs, holding his head in a tired rage. The Mean Streets: Chapter 14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"Twilight, what are you doing?" He asked angrily, slowly blinking and giving a loud yawn. It was just dawning and Spike hadn't been awake this early in ages.

Luna's Best Night EverIt was the night of the Grand Galloping Gala and Princess Luna was thoroughly flustered. She stood in front of her mirror, pouting at her own reflection. Celestia had gone to great lengths to set the evening up for her, lowering the sun early and helping her to raise the moon and coerce the stars out of hiding so she would have time to prepare herself. She had even taken the liberty of personally greeting every guest on her behalf so that Luna wouldn't have an excuse to escape from the party itself.Luna's Best Night Ever4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Luna adjusted her tiara and smoothed out the dress Celestia had picked out for her for the fifth time in as many minutes. She frowned a little at the puffy, lacy affair that now adorned her form, all ribbons and silk and crushed velvet with a large, elaborate skirt that made her feel uncomfortable about the size of her flank. When Celestia had told her no bit had been spared to prepare for the gala Luna had been shocked, even appalled by the flagrant misuse of the treasury to fund an event

Eyes clenched, Rainbow Dash squirmed and allowed herself to sink deeper into the fluffy cloud that was her home. The afternoon Sun shone down upon her, rousing her from her slumber. She rolled onto her back and let loose a huge yawn. Sighing, the pale cyan pegasus slowly cracked open her eyes and rubbed them with her two fore-hooves. She sat up on her haunches and peeked over the edge of her cloud, gazing at the bridge to Ponyville nearby. Nopony was there.
"Oh, come on, kid," she mumbled in annoyance. "You begged and pleaded for almost an hour yesterday, and now you don't even show up on time."
Rainbow lazily scanned the expansive valley below her. Winding paths snuck between sparse trees and over roll

She thought to herself as she brought her vision up. She was stood in an empty field, above her hovered a grand collection of clouds, artfully crafted together forming a classical monument that made up her home. The home she could no longer reach. Rainbow Dash sighed as she stared towards the fluffy architecture. "Why have I gotten so weak?" "Rainbow." The struggling mare knew that voice anywhere, she broke from her sadness as she looked over her shoulder. An orange mare was slowly walking up to her, as she approached she threw her strong legs around the pegasus, staring into her violet eyes. "Ah see y'all still having trouble with ya wings." Applejack stated rather than questioned as she dipped towards Rainbow Dash,

Moonlit Sparkles Chapter 1
"You're going WHERE?!"
The earsplitting cry startled the birds that rested atop Twilight Sparkle's library home. Panicking, the birds rushed into the sky to find a safer place to perch.
Twilight was using her magic to pack several books and supplies into a few different bags. The books themselves covered a variety of topics, but she only packed the necessities, knowing she wouldn't need her entire library on her trip to Canterlot. The warm glow of the sun draped appealingly across the room, blanketing every surface. Certainly there was no better time to travel; the springtime aura penetrated everything, from the simplest plant to the most complex animal species. Life itself just seemed so vibrant, and Twilight was
3 Weeks Party - Part 2It was closing time for Sugar Cube Corner. Mrs. Cake was changing the sign on the door to 'closed' while her husband was finishing cleaning the last of the tables. "I'll go let Pinkamena know, dear" Mrs. Cake told her love as she went upstairs to Pinkie's room. They didn't have a foal of their own, and looked after Pinkie Pie as her parent figures. When she first appeared in Ponyville years ago, Pinkie was only a small pink filly and her mane was strait from sadness and the rain. The couple soon found out she had no family nearby, if any, and feeling sorry for her they decided to adopt her, at least until her parents could be found. She was such a sad pony back then.3 Weeks Party - Part 24 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"AH! No you didn't see anything we weren't doing that your imagining it there's nothing going on!" Pinkie yelled as her door swung open. The pink pony was holding the plush of Rainbow Dash which she quickly swung from her mouth to behind her back.
Mrs. Cake was sure of one thing, Pinkie had gotten happier since the early d
Twilight learns a secretIt was sunset, and a dim orange light covered Ponyville, shining through the windows of the library and illuminating its contents. "I don't know. Like I said, we were both... getting used to our bodies, and we were always egging each other on I think it was sort of inevitable, you know?" Dash sighed. "Anyway, that's all over now."
Twilight stared at Dash for a moment before speaking. "Do you ever wish you were still with Gilda?"
"No," said Dash, rolling over to face Twilight, "Being with Gilda was fun, I guess, and I do kind of wish stuff had - ended better, but she's not what I want anymore. I'd choose you over her any day." Rainbow Dash ran a hoof down Twilight's side, staring into the unicorn's lavender eyes.
"I love you, Twilight
Teamwork is Magic: Chapter 1"You did what!?" The purple unicorn fumed, staring at Rainbow Dash angrily. Dash recoiled slightly, never seeing Twilight Sparkle this angry before.Teamwork is Magic: Chapter 14 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Well, I mean Trixie is back, and you're the only one in Ponyville strong enough to duel her with magic, and I..." She trailed off. Twilight let out an exasperated sigh.
"You can't just speak for me! I don't want to fight Trixie!"
"Twi, last time you showed Trixie up by a mile and a half! I'd bet you could do it again!"
"That was six months ago! She's probably gotten much stronger since then!"
"Well, so have you, silly!" Pinkie rose out of a bowl of apples sitting on a nearby table
Twilight's anger subsided slightly as she pondered how long Pinkie had been there. Pinkie just stood beside her, munching an apple. "C'mon, Twilight, it'll be fun!" She said, mouth full.
"Yeah Twi, we've got till sunset to prepare!" Dash chimed
Her brow furrowed, knowing that she really had no way out. If she declined, it would seem as if she was backing out. If

Well This is awkward.
Here I was, trying to enjoy a quiet, normal day with one of my best friends in Canterlot. Of course friendship, being the ever-changing, mysterious entity that it is, cannot be satisfied until I've apparently learnt something. I think I'm beginning to understand the point of it all It's hard though. Right now, my own racing thoughts are keeping me from approaching the situation logically, and without logic, how can I be sure of anything?
Oh, right the awkwardness. It's very difficult to maintain a single train of thought, let alone manage the torrent of mixed emotions I'm feeling. Most ponies wouldn't think that 'Twilight personal student to Princess Celestia and banisher of Nightmare Moon's eternal darkness' would get herself into a position like this, and I do literally mean position. Right now I'm on my back, staring up at my best friend Rarity, and we're blushing more in

The sun was setting. Another night was about to begin.
A purple, regal-looking pegacorn gazed up into the darkening sky, checking the feel of the world around her. It would be quiet, by the look of things. Quiet, starry, peaceful. There were but two things missing: the moon, and the right music.
Princess Luna looked back down again, gazing over a small band of assorted ponies that now surrounded her. Some carried a few woodwind instruments; others, strings; still others, percussion. A few performed basic vocal exercises, honing their collective tones. The princess gave a faint smile. Yes, everything was proceeding as planned. Tonight would be a fine performance to honor the rising of the moon.
"Hello, Princess Luna! Sorry I'm late. I was so busy reading I lost track of the time!" a unicorn with a dark purple coat and mane trotted up to her, a glow surrounding both her horn and a wooden pan flute.
"..." Luna frowned. She honestly disliked her elder sister's

Twilight Sparkle was, as was often the case in the afternoon, intensely focused on reading a book at her desk. Tonight, Dr. Hawk's 'Astrological Anomalies and Astral Artifacts' was the subject of her attentions. With Spike out of town for the week on Canterlot business, she had the entire place to herself. Every single shelf lining the tree house library's walls crammed with condensed knowledge, all for her.
Pausing as her mind snagged on that thought, Twilight frowned. Sometimes she wondered if she was the only pony in Ponyville who actually enjoyed a good book. There was something terribly disappointing and wrong about Spike's absence resulting in predictable solitude.
When she thought about it like that, she almost missed the baby dragon already. Though she loved her friends dearly, none of them were exactly - to use a term they loved to apply to her - "bookworms".
There was a loud thud, the library shaking as something impacted against the outside walls of the library. The resultin

"Precisely! So you do understand!"
"Not in the slightest, but I think the jist is that y'all need to find a way home?"
"... Well, as long as you realize that part, I suppose it's all okay"
A bright light flashed in the small room. "Well, looks like someone's respawning. I get to see if all this work finally drove me crazy or if I really am seein' talkin' ponies"
From the room a giant of a man lumbered out, looking fuming mad and muttering what sounded like Russian swear words under hi

Chell lifted the cube with her portal-device and placed it on the big red button.
With a hiss the door opened and the way to the elevator was free.
Another day, another endless series of test chambers.
She was sick of them.
It bothered her that she had no choice but solving them.
Or did she?
In her first days of testing Chell already tried to put a camera or two on the button but that didn't trigger anything.
Apparently it was too light.
She tried putting more on the button but with the same results.
So she figured the cubes had a specific weight.
One of the things she also found out was that some objects were not fizzled in the emancipation grid.
Like common stones.
And even though they were not easy to find, the state of the facility allowed her to find some nevertheless and she always took them with her.
She had a plan.
What if she could make a bag of stones exactly the weight of a cube? Than she wouldn't have to do all the trouble getting the

Twilight watched the little white starlike flowers swirl about in her cup of elderflower tea and sighed.
Rarity put down her own cup and looked at her in sudden concern from across the table. The two of them were sitting at their favourite table at the Dandelion Clock Café and enjoying a little afternoon tea together, but Rarity for some time now had noticed that Twilight, although moody at the best of times, was especially moody today for some reason.
"Darling!" she said. "That's the third time you've sighed in as many minutes! Now I know something is most definitely wrong."
Twilight lifted her face from observing the tea to look at her friend. The white-coated unicorn's eyes were regarding her with concern, but somehow Twilight didn't feel like talking to her.
"Oh Rarity. I'm fine, really," she said, and then straightaway her eyes dropped back down to the tea and its danci

She screamed and ducked behind the corner as the rockets missed by inches. "Okay, maybe not so easy. At least no Engi's were around. That would have been embarrassing"

It was a bright, beautiful August afternoon in Ponyville, and the warm sunlight was making the whole town glow with bright, cheery colors: vivid pink and warm burgundy red, apple green and sky blue, pumpkin orange and chocolate brown. It was a lovely sight, which made the tall, round spire of a house near the village green stand out like a sore hoof. Usually the most colorful and baroque building in Ponyville, today the Carousel Boutique had been draped with broad ribbons of dull black funerary crepe.
Five ponies, and one apprehensive-looking dragon, were walking up the paved path past the green and towards the black-draped house, a pale yellow Pegasus in the middle of the group. "Thank you so much for coming with me," Fluttershy said. "I know you all must be busy, but I just lost my nerve when I saw all that black, and I didn't dare to knock Oh, I hope nothing bad has happened to Rarity!"
"It's all right, sugarcube," Applejack
Teamwork is Magic Chapter 7On the BLU battlements, a familiar yellow pegasus sat, ducked under the battlements, making sure not a single pink hair was poking above the window. It had become a routine: Wake up, hide under the windowsill until nightfall, go back in. Not a single chance to get hurt. She looked up on the wall, confirming the RED dot that had adorned it all day was still keeping vigil. She clutched the rifle in her hooves tight, squeezing her eyes shut. "Oh. It's you, Mr. Sniper. I didn't hear you come in" She blushed slightly at her scream.
"I noticed" He took his sunglasses off and polished them with his shirt. "I just wanted to come by. I haven't really talked to you since you got here"
