The Origins of Carmelita FoxA young vixen of ten years old knelt over her latest customers shoe, old rag over her shoulder, black shoe polish in one hand and a small sack in the other. She set the sack down and reached for her rag, spraying some polish on it and getting to work on the mans shoes. The Origins of Carmelita Fox9 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
The scruffy young girl had a greasy shirt a few sizes too big, and a pair of coveralls with one straps button missing, the strap hanging loose. Her blue/black hair was tied behind her back with a dirty piece of twine and her reddish/hazel and yellow fur was stained. Her eyes, an intelligent liquid-brown, concentrated on the task at hand. A birthmark sat below her left eye, giving her an air of distinction, despite her grubby appearance.
She finished the job swiftly, leaving neither mar nor spot on the portly badgers shoe. He smiled, leaned down and patted her head before dropping two American dollars in her hand. Her eyes went wide upon receiving it.
Pardon me, sir. This job is only two cent

"Twilight Sparkle, my dearest acolyte,
I hope this long letter finds you in good health. You have expressed curiosity your whole life for the ancient secrets. I know much of what caught up with my sister and I from times long past has left you with many unanswered questions. You have also, as of late, been concerned about your age and that now, your years approaching three digits, leaves you little time left to learn.
That is something that has never ceased to astonish me about you. Your thirst for knowledge in whatever form it may come.
It is time now, in the time you have left, to understand why I kept the old knowledge from you. I have of course let slip certain details about the distant past. Your discovery of the book holding the tale of my sister's fall was no accident. I am no goddess, as you know. There were times when I thought no hope remained. When I had to remind you of the beautiful letters you wrote me to inspire in your heart the strength to rally your friends, the Embod
Realities of Climate ChangeClimate Change is a Reality. This cannot be questioned. It has been going on ever since the Earth's atmosphere formed, and it will be going on quite a long time after the Human race vanishes from the face of the Earth. It is going on now; it was changing during the Little Ice Age. The Midieval Warm Period. The Dark Ages cooling. The Roman Warm Period. The Minoan Warm period....Realities of Climate Change5 years ago in Editorial More Like This
Skeptics- the ones who matter- do not deny climate change, or global warming. That science is Sound. But when the representation of science becomes politicized- as with the Unproven theory of 'man-made' global warming- then we begin to run into problems.
When the media, most politicians, or even people on this site, claim that 'denialists' are nothing but dogged, ranting right-wing bloggers or AM radio hosts, 'creationists,' in the pay of 'Big Oil,' they are at the very least being Specious. Claims that the Bible has anything to do with the situation, are not even worth considering. In fact the entire pur

[This filksong assumes that many readers know, Lauren Faust wanted Celestia to be a queen, but Hasbro said princess sounds cuter. She's grown up, she's a queen, damnit]
Ledger looked up at Princess Celestia as she came into her office at the Equestria Enquirer.
"Ah, thank you Princess Celestia, for coming here for an interview. Did you know that this is the first time in hundreds of years that a pony like me is lucky enough to interview you?" Ledger said excitedly.
Celestia smiled good-naturedly. "Only because most ponies don't ever ask. Too afraid or intimidated, I'm sad to say."
"Yes, well You are in charge around here after all." Ledger said.
"Mmm. I'm the queen." The goddess replied.
"Yes, well our readers would love to know what happens in an ordinary day in the life of the queen." Ledger said, holding up a quill with her horn magic.
"Well, the first thing I do is
Raise the sun up! LIKE A QUEEN.
Talk to ponies! LIKE A QUEEN.
Plan the Gala! LIKE A QUEEN.
Why Communism does not work.Alright friends, readers, countrymen... I've been getting pretty tired of hashing it out with a cluster of Commie chuckleheads who are under the erroneous impression that Communism works. They keep saying that Communism hasn't been tried properly and because of that, we can't close the book on it forever just yet.Why Communism does not work.11 months ago in Personal More Like This
They cite African and South American primitive villages as examples of Communism working. They're either mistaken or lying of course, because villages still have an alpha presence in the form of shaman, chief or council of elders who have more authority than others. But let's assume that they're right...
How good is village living? >_>
Rampant disease, no hospital system, no one to come to your aid if people don't like you and you're in trouble, working what equates to a sixteen hour day...
Does that sound good to you?
Anyway, let us take a little trip down history lane and have a look at why Communism sucks. Why it blows. Why it's a murderous, filthy <
