Copic Markers and Pony colorsI get a LOT of questions regarding what colors I use where when it comes to the ponies, and I keep saying I'm gonna make a little guide. Well, let's give it a shot.Copic Markers and Pony colors2 years ago in Personal More Like This
For the majority of my covers, I use Copic markers to color. Copics are light-fast, alcohol markers... not unlike a classic school marker, but higher quality. I prefer Copic over other brands primarily for a few reasons: Variable tips (markers, fine, brush, etc), better blending, and they can be refilled! This is the BIG selling point to me... this means you can buy the marker once, and continue to refill. It also means you can custom blend colors should you desire. Copics also guarantee that if you buy Y00 yellow, and then buy another down the line, the colors will match. I've bought the same marker color from other brands and had them not match. I will use other brands here and there for very specific colors or effects, but Copic is 99% of my marker work.
So... when I do a cover or whatever, I do basic ink lines first wit
ReallyHe won because he "cares" about people. He wants to help everybody, he'll cut our taxes, help our schools, give us money!! All us poor americans who have been slaving under big, successful companies, working for rich people and getting less then minimum wage will now get REVENGE! He'll steal from the rich and give to the poor, everybody!! Because NOBODY WHO WAS EVER SUCCESSFUL DID IT BY THEMSELVES. If you came up with amazing new technology in your basement, working your butt off and realizing your dream to be a big business owner, YOU DON'T DESERVE IT! YOU owe everybody else for "helping" you, and HE's gonna take your money and distribute it to everyone else who needs it more than you do.Really3 years ago in Personal More Like This

A Thought on InequalityWe've been talking a lot about inequality in my college classes; so I thought I'd share my view on the matter.A Thought on Inequality2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Merriam-Webster states inequality as being “an unfair situation in which some people have more rights or better opportunities than other people.” Now, this is a great definition. However, the general public does not view inequality in this manner. For the majority of people, “inequality” means “a situation where everybody does not have an identical outcome,” the essential difference being the distinctness between “the right to pursue happiness” and “the right to be happy.” It is not your right to exist in a state of happiness, but rather to be free to choose to follow a path that you believe will make you so. To go along with this, it is also not your right to be as happy as your neighbor, but rather to be as happy as you work to be. As rel

Anyway, regardless of how fucky the way we experience of time is, the reality is that I'm now 20! Some of you noticed - thanks to all the people who left birthday messages! Seriously, there's like 40 of them, it's crazy! I never really thought I'd get this far and already have someone call me their "idol", like that really kinda nuts! I'm honoured in any case, but still! It's been great fun this past year putting out comics and seeing so many people really loving them, and I'm hoping I can keep putting my comics in front of people that'll love them.
They may have to take a back seat, however, as I do really have to knuckle down and get on with stuff that I can use as portfolio fodder to get myself employed once I gr

Photoshop is a great program, but despite it's many features it's a bit pricy at $999. I created this list for people with smaller wallets and certain art needs.
The programs are listed according to what type of art they are best suited for.
Don't know what program will be best for you? Most of the paid programs have trial versions available, download them and see what you like best.

Price: 59 USD
Pros: ability to customize brushes, ruler tools, user-friendly interface, some built-in screen tones. Can create "event" files, where others can watch you drawing long after the fact. Updated regularly.

Double-M Double-S time!Hey everybody! I just paid my rent, fixed my brakes, and did my taxes. Coincidentally, I think it's time to open some commissions! Here's the drill:Double-M Double-S time!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Comics are hand-drawn on 8.5" x 11" paper.
b/w (pencil & ink) page: $30
color (traditional or digital) page: $60
Please keep the approximate panel count down to six per page. And if you supply dialogue, keep in mind that I may change it slightly to fit the artwork. Also, keep it simple as far as characters go. 2-3 characters works best for this.
2. Thrandrall (more of a series of pin-ups, but I'm putting it here in terms of workload)
Pin-ups are hand-drawn on 11" x 14" watercolor paper, and I'll more than likely do watercolors for all pin-ups.
b/w (pencil & ink): $30
color (traditional or digital): $50
Pin-ups are single character. If there's a duo or something you absolutely need, we'll work something out rate-wise.

Commissions! So, um, I decided to try my hand at the whole commissions thing that's all the rage with the kids these days.Commissions!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
-$4 for a character sketch
-$8 for a digitally inked character
-$12 for a digitally inked character with flat colour
-$16 for a digitally inked, coloured, and shaded character
Any extra characters in the picture will cost $4 per additional character.
If you would like a coloured background for a picture with flat colour or shaded colour it will cost an additional $2, otherwise it will just have a transparent background.
I'm fine with drawing just about any character, although there are a couple of things that I won't draw.
Things I won't draw:

Im easily amused.
no bad decisions when it involves a street sweeper3am and i am feeling a little bummed, so i took a hike for coffee. coffee run turned into run-away-from-skunks run and at the store i met this scraggly old, dirty man with long gray hair and long scraggly beard, dressed in the dirtiest overalls i've ever seen and had a star tattooed on his face.no bad decisions when it involves a street sweeper3 years ago in Personal More Like This
i know you're not suppose to talk to strangers but how could i pass up the offer i got of getting a ride in a goddamn street sweeper?
queue us talking about how much we absolutely hate people and how awesome his job is because he doesn't have to deal with them. i almost went to work with him but ftt thats where i drew the line. though "serial street sweeper killer" would make a pretty catchy headline.
what lesson did you just learn?
certainly not anything about going up to unidentified wild animals in the dark, but talk to strangers, kids. you may get your very own chance at riding in a street sweeper.

Hi everyone! I'm Jade, better known around DeviantArt as Aeirmid. I chose my username because Aermid (or Airmid) is an Irish goddess of health and healing, and I wanted to pay tribute to her because I have dedicated my life to promoting mental and physical health in others. In fact, I'm just finishing up a PhD program in public health. In March, I will celebrate 10 amazing years on DeviantArt. Although I started my journey as a photographer, I quickly became enthralled with photomanipulation and worked hard to develop some skills. I chose my original name on DA, SanguineVamp, because I loved all sorts of dark and Gothic work. I still do. Still, I had a hard time creating dark art because my attempts at blood and gore always somehow magically evolved

2. One of my insecurities.
My slightly soft body, namely my breast, which really could be a tad smaller.
3. What turns me on.
my legs being stroked, kissing, generic stuff like that.
4. One of my bad habits.
saying sorry all the time, often over random things that aren't my fault.
5. Who I wish I could be.
No one, I just wish I was a better version of myself.
6. Where I want to be right now.
In a different country, namely outside of Europe with enough money to explore it properly. (Lets say Japan, South Korea, Canada)
7. The last thing I ate.
stir-fried vegetables (red onions, cabbage, peppers, carrot, bean sprouts) with some herbs
8. Sexiest person that comes to my mind immediately.<
