What Spyro's Kingdom WasWe finally have visual of what the first game concept of what Spyro's Kingdom looked like. What Spyro's Kingdom Was1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Apparently, this game was originally going to be a MMORPG, in the Legend of Spyro-themed universe. The Portal of Power is mentioned, and we were going to have to use toys to play as our dragon characters in the game world. And just like Spyro's Universe, we customize our lairs. This game idea was proposed to Activision, but it was rejected.

Project Sketch 'Em All UPDATEProject Sketch 'Em All1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Ok we're back, sorta. School is a terrible environment for art. And I have a lot of people who can vouch for that XD Anyway, the point is, I won't be working on it at 10 a day. Not for now, anyway. What is going to happen instead, is, I'll be drawing the remaining Pokemon first, then :IconAldenlite: will vector them. After that I'll color them all at one go, and you guys will see the complete collection. About time, I know. It's coming to the end of a school term, after which I have a week to rush up my homework, and of course, the project. Hopefully I can get it up by then.
Anyway due to the new sequence of actions, we'll actually need 3 progress bars to handle this.
Sketched: 644/725 (Reuniclus)
Vectored: 600/725 (Seismitoad)

Hey guys, I'm working on a new Pokemon drawing proje
Pokémon comic?I haven't played Pokémon in a while, because I've been playing a lot more Mario BUT I recently bought Super Pokémon Rumble (Pokémon Rumble Blast in NA)...I'm addicted. It's awesome. I LOVE IT.Pokémon comic?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I've always wanted to make my own Pokémon fan comic. Would you guys like it if I made one? I just made the characters and I'll post them on dA soon. But I haven't figured out their personalities yet...
I don't know if these Pokémon will be trained or wild. It's a pretty interesting group of Pokémon. I wanted to use Pokémon that a lot of people don't usually think of. What do you guys think?
Oh, and these comics are supposed to be strips with the Pokémon talking to each other with maybe the occasional story arc, which will have some action.

Sorry I'm late, guys!
The feature was supposed to be yesterday, but my country has this annual thing called Street Music Day, which I basically celebrate more than my birthday, so...you get the point xD
Onto this week's feature! The poll got tied with Hunger Games and Waffles... So I guess I chose what I like more.
This week's theme: HUNGER GAMES
And don't forget to vote on next week's theme here: http://frozennote.deviantart.com/journal/poll/2847423/
Quick Tips: On Referencing AnatomyReference from real life whenever possible.Quick Tips: On Referencing Anatomy2 years ago in Personal More Like This
When you reference or copy from another artist's studies/sketches/art, you may be copying their mistakes as well. Furthermore, an artist's studies are their notes and --just like with history or chemistry notes-- copying someone else's notes will not help you fully understand the material. To completely understand anatomy, you must take your own notes and build your own understanding through observation.
This is probably a no-brainer for many artists but... ~scruffynerfherder and I were talking about this last night, and with the increase of "anatomy studies" showing up on dA's front page, it's been on my mind. DA's resource category has some great material, but I also feel like there is a lot of misleading information taught by amateurs who really probably shouldn't be teaching things like shading or anatomy, because they have a less-than-stellar grasp on it themselves. I'm not trying to knock anyone here, but it's a bit tr

Saturday mornings are super again. Harkening back to the glory days the 1970s and '80s when kids got their weekends going with Super Friends and School House Rock, Cartoon Network is launching DC Nation, a programming block that showcases the heroes of the DC Comics library. Anchoring the hour will be the CGI show Green Lantern: The Animated Series (10am/9c) and the continuation of the first season of Young Justice (10:30am/9:30c). Scattered Throughout the hour are animated shorts and interstitials with news and vignettes from around the DC universe.
Though some of the shorts feature big names like Superman and Batman, many will put the spotlight on "characters we've always wanted to see animated, but that might not be able to support a whole series," says Peter Giardi, senior vice president at Warner Bros. Animation, which is coordinating the block. Among the second-tier characters featured are Black Lightenin
Animation techniques and more Ghibli thoughtsIn my last journal I mentioned the strange effect of seeing super cartoony flat characters moving around in a hyper realistic world. There's actually a name for this, it's call the "masking effect" and it was quite elaborately detailed by Scott McCloud in his book "understanding comics."Animation techniques and more Ghibli thoughts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
In comics, frequently the main characters are portrayed as cartoony and simple, while backgrounds often get very detailed. The basic concept is pretty simple. The more cartoony a character is drawn, the more appealing and relatable it is to us as we can more easily imagine ourselves in the role. The more realistic something is, the less of a personal connection you have to it. This is why villains tend to be drawn more realistically, and heros more cartoony. But it goes beyond just the characters... the environment also is affected.
If a person in a cartoon picks up a sword and starts swinging it around, the sword becomes an extension of their body and since it's animated, it becomes a drawn thing whic
