Hooker Valley
New Zealand

On a freezing clear dawn, I made my way up to Hooker Valley in the dark- The trail itself was very good, yet in the pitch black, somehow I managed to lose the trail a couple of times ! Despite the lack of clouds, it was still a magical place to be - perhaps influenced by the hypothermia I induced by wading across the base of the lake !

Often I find myself in the shower, at a red light, lying in bed or lounging around the pool, thinking of moments such as this. Daydreaming about the light pouring across the landscape and sweeping through the valleys. Casting its glow of warm light by reflecting from underneath the clouds, illuminating my foreground.

I thank God for giving me moments like this.

My first shoot with the new Zeiss 21mm lens. I was never happy with lack of edge sharpness of the Canon 17-40mm lens, hence I sold it and bought the 21mm Zeiss lens for Canon. First shoot and I am impressed!
It was drizzling when I left home and I almost turned over in bed when the alarm went off and I heard the rain. But made it out of bed and once at location the clouds cleared and a beautiful sunrise presented itself. Due to all the smoke from the fires from the last week the sun wasn't as bright as normal hence I could shoot straight at the sun.

The Island of Skye probably is Scotlands most legendary and mystical island. High above the sealevel there is a rightly famous point of view called Quiraing.

This was taken at midnight during summer solstice, the longest day of the year in Iceland. The valley Elliðaárdalur is one of the green recreational areas of Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. The river cascades over several small waterfalls within the boundary of the city.
