This was taken at midnight during summer solstice, the longest day of the year in Iceland. The valley Elliðaárdalur is one of the green recreational areas of Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. The river cascades over several small waterfalls within the boundary of the city.

After a 10 hour drive from south eastern Iceland through rain, snow, hail and sunshine, we finally arrived at Godafoss in the north. Sitting down to a well earned dinner, I saw that we were going to have a great sunset above the falls, so I ran the 10 minutes from the hotel to set up my tripod and camera.
It was a beautiful evening, and surprisingly I had the spot to myself. The only problem was the spray, but it was easy enough to shoot 2 second exposures.

Bumbunga Lake
South Australia

This weekend , I took a drive to Lochiel , 100km north of Adelaide where I had passed this lake many times. The lake is the site of an abandoned salt works and the fence in many parts is non existent. A short stroll from the national highway and I was walking on crusted salt covered by a thin sheen of water from the previous night's light rain. The pink hues of salt pans never cease to amaze me and the water added the tremendous bonus of the reflections.

An image created almost exactly two years ago on what is now my most productive photography sunrise. I took this in Arches National Park and by this point of the morning I had already gotten some images I thought would be unique, in a frantic search to capitalize on these amazing conditions, I scrambled to the top of a rock out crop and saw these beautiful banks of rolling fog from a birds eye view.

Some of my older watchers may recognize this image, I posted a few years ago but I removed it because I wasn't happy with the processing. I dug this out and reworked it using luminosity masks and was happy with the improvements.

I'm still watching the weather in the Moab area, if we get a big snow-storm I'll get down there for sure to capture a handful of shots I've been scouting on my recent trips... so on that note lets hope for snow!

Happy weekend everyone and don't forget to "like" my facebook page for trip updates, photo tips, and anything else I find interesting. I appreciate the support!
