This is a commission I did for ~toxic-muffins. I was so very flattered to receive this commission because she is a clay crafter too, and after looking at some of her amazing creations (like this and this) I felt compelled to do an extra effort for her. She wanted me to make a couple of deco cupcakes for earrings in white and pink, with candy, hearts and sprinkles.
Extra complication: I've never made anything like this before I've never been good with deco stuff... and my cupcakes haven't been exactly perfect so far. When she told me what she wanted, there was one thing I tried to keep in mind all the time: over-the-top. That's what deco is to me. I know this is different from my usual style, so I hope I've succeeded xD (she said she liked them, so I suppose I sort of did )
Even though deco stuff is not exactly realistic, I tried to make the decorations as realistic as possible to feed my obsession with realism xD please let me know what you think! since I'm learning how to do this kind of stuff, I appreciate any feedback I can get.
Materials: Polymer clay, TLS, pastels, metal findings, cookie cutters, icing nozzle. No silicon was used, this is 100% polymer clay.
Makizushi jewelry set, earrings, a pendant and a cel strap. I still can't finish the huge sushi cane I made a year ago! I was too noob to notice that the cane was too big This set goes with my sushi charm bracelet or sushi bracelet.
A friend's sister had been sick and couldn't eat anything but bland food, so a couple of days ago I gave my friend the earrings and strap because she told me that her sister's favorite food was sushi (I didn't give her the pendant because I didn't think it was good enough). Yesterday my friend told me that she was sick too, so I think I'll give her the pendant now I hope she likes it
I hope you guys like them made with Sculpey III, metal findings and lots of love and patience.
*lyrasan wanted me to recreate two of my previous creations, the sushi bracelet I made with a makizushi cane and charms, and my "fattest, fullest, nastiest" hamburger charm.
Both are old submissions (made 2 and 1 years ago) so I wanted to make them more realistic this time. I'm specially proud of the pickles! I think I'm finally nailing those translucent miniatures. I also like the salmon and the meat, which I tried to make a lot more textured this time.
She already received them and she says she really liked them, so I couldn't be any happier!
I tried to take the photos a bit different this time because I got a bit tired of the solid color backgrounds. I have this really shiny paper that I really wanted to use, and I love all the colors! But I hope the photo doesn't look too "busy".
Made with: Sculpey III, TLS, pastels, sesame seeds, gloss and jewelry supplies. The makizushi was made following this tutorial [link] by *chat-noir
I just found these old photos and wondered why I never published them xD I think they're a year old at least. That German Chocolate Cake is one of my favorite cakes ever! I made these for my dear friend =moofestgirl, I asked her what's her favorite cake and she said German chocolate cake... I also made her what I called a Chocolate Murder Cake with every form of chocolate I could think of xD
Chocolate Murder Cake: Dark chocolate cake filled with chocolate, with creamy chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles and hot chocolate sauce. Next time I'll add a small scoop of chocolate ice cream German chocolate cake: Milk chocolate cake filled and frosted with a coconut and pecan creamy frosting. A sweet chocolate frosting covers the side, some of it is used for decoration and it's topped with cherries and chopped pecans. And my strawberry shortcake, which I've made a million times already xD
This photo is really old xD I took it with my old camera in my lightbox, now I prefer to use natural light... mostly because I put the lightbox on top of a bookcase and I'm too short to get it down again T_T and lately I've felt that natural light makes everything look happier.
Handmade by me with polymer clay and metal findings. Everything is available for commission!
~Rae-Lynn told me that she wanted chocolate chip cookies like the ones I made, but in hooks instead of studs. I was so honored with her commission, she makes a lot of awesome jewelry... so the fact that she wanted some of mine was very flattering
I made these macarons about 10 months ago, but I never took photos xD yay for backlog!
I made them because I hadn't made anything for me or in 1:12 for a while, and you know what? I haven't made anything in 1:12 or for me again! bah x.x Each macaroon is tiny, about 3-4 mm.
I liked the idea of making them in pastel rainbow colors, I wanted them to be soft and cute I think I succeeded in that aspect they're a bit fat and the texture is not yet perfect, so I didn't succeeded in that aspect xD
Comments and suggestions always very much appreciated
Materials: Polymer clay and TLS. I only made the macarons, the props and display are from several of my Sylvanian Family sets.
This is my submission for #PolymerClay's Spring Contest! Contest's info here: [link] This is the first contest I join in more than a year! I'm really excited about it I'm not really a spring person because I don't like the weather, it's hot and dry. I prefer autumn, it rains a lot and it's much cooler
But there's one thing I love about spring: fruits! Lots of fruits! Around this season we have the most delicious, sweet and fresh fruits I'm lucky to live in a country with so many fresh produce, they're very cheap too! I've seen whole watermelons for $1
I prefer to have a light breakfast or I feel heavy all day, so having some fruits is my favorite way to start any morning maybe a bit of bread and coffee... lots and lots of coffee!
Wow it's been a while since my last 1:12 submission! This is also the first time in a while that I make something for me, it was nice I adore working in 1:12, I think I'll try it a bit more
Also, I was worried because I felt that some of my submissions were missing something... they were feeling incomplete. I noticed that a lot of great polymer clay artists use displays to present their miniatures, so I used my Sylvanian Families kitchen and worked on the details, setting, illumination, camera angle, etc... and I think it looks much better! I think I'll keep working on this, I like the results
Technical stuff: I used Sculpey III to make the fruits, the bowl, and the knife's handle. The bowl was made with Granitex in brown, I wanted it to look like stone or marble. I used acrylic paints to work the colors in the mango and the strawberry seeds. The open orange was made with the orange cane I made months ago.
I used an aluminum sheet to make the knife's blade, this little bastard took me four incarnations until I got something that I liked... I'm still not completely pleased, but getting there! The cutting board was made using square matches! I had a strange moment of inspiration and thought that it would be a cute idea, and I like the results I think I'll be making more! Would anyone be interested in a tutorial for this?
The table, chairs, kitchen and kitchen accessories come from my Sylvanian Families collection I want to thank my cats for contributing with two of their hairs, how would you recognize my work without cat hairs?
I made some more cakes last month, I was planning to sell them when my store opens... but they're now all gone Some friends got them. Now I have to make more cakes to sell, so you'll be seeing a lot of cakes in the following weeks.
Chocolate & vanilla cakes with a creamy frosting. The one on the left has milk chocolate shavings, the one on the right has almonds.
I love almonds but my almond cane was barely ok, I have to work a bit more on my canes.
These little wood plates were part of the prize I received from ~KatGore. She's awesome! Her clay work is stunning and she's also really sweet, please give her some love
Comments and suggestions are always much appreciated
Technique and materials as used in my cake tutorial:
Hot dog! So this is really old... like 6 months old? My backlog is only getting bigger now xD I made this for the crafty =moofestgirl, she told me she likes big charms so I made my best to make this bigger than my usual charms. It was quite a challenge for me because I tend to make everything small, so I had to make it re-do it a couple of times until it was big enough.
I like the way the bun looks, next time I think I'll make the sausage look grilled or something like that, and I don't like the way the mustard and ketchup blended a bit on the middle, so that's in my list of things I can improve next time. The sausage was more or less inspired by this tutorial [link] because I had no idea how to make a sausage xD
