Summer DaysSummer Days10 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Bring back the days
Of freedom and independence
When life was ours for the taking
We were Kings and Queens of our little worlds
Fighting fearsome pirates
Searching for buried treasure
Chivalrous Knights in shining armor
Saving damsels in distress from far off castles
From voracious fire breathing dragons
The sun bathed us with its warm rays
As we baked in the heat of summer
Drinking icy lemonades
As one adventure led us to another
Days spent with neighborhood friends and you
As the sun would sink slowly in the sky
Mothers would summon us home for dinner
And we reluctantly obeyed
Because of the next day's promise that the sun would rise again
And for our next adventure to find us
You and me would always linger
You, My Knight and Shining Armor
My, Your Princess who you saved just hours ago from a dragon that captured me
We would linger to watch the sun's finale of the day
As she would paint the sky with red, pink, and orange bans of light.
We talked about the future
We talked about dream

Okami vs OkamidenOkami vs Okamiden4 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Okami will forever be one of my most cherished videogames in my collection. There were so many aspects to be admired--a huge map that could be roamed around freely, giant intimidating bosses that actually required effort to defeat, and a unique and absolutely beautiful design.
As an artist, the entire watercolor/ink painting feel of the graphics is what really made the game win my heart. Even as you play, you are literally granted the power of a brush. You paint symbols directly on the screen that represent elements or attacks that may be used outside and inside the battlefield.
Of course, you're given a variety of weapons as well. Each one you find or purchase is a work of art in itself. They're all different in their own way and look magnificent. You have your choice of Rosaries (beads), Glaives (swords), and Reflectors (mirrors). Other than the looks, the performance of each weapon is slightly different but they're all quite balanced. Reflectors are swung around in a circular motion

By hiding we are making sure that none could ever hurt us, find us, scare us to the point of retreat. Now when I say retreat I don't mean physically beating us back, or even making us pull back into ourselves. When I speak of retreat in this aspect I refer to actually making us so scared that we can't move back. We become so frightened of any kind of minor change any kind of stress. This will break us.
You know us.
You know what we are, but you don't know that you do.
We are the ones that you can rely on to always be there, the ones you can fall back on, the ones that fight back for you when you can't anymore. They stand up for you when you are too shocked or upset or even angry to act. We don't ever appear broken, we don't appear scared, we don't appear like there could ever be anything wrong.
You might ask us what's wrong when we let our masks slip, but we insist we're fine. Most of the time you believe us, those times you don't, those are the times we have truly fallen. We

Damn that sunDamn that sun10 years ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This
You may think the sun is all good, but I beg the differ.
I say damn that sun!
It was a plain, regular morning for me.
Woke up, drank some coffee, a latte.
Read in the newspaper of the disaster in some third world country, the murder in a local club, some terrorist bombing and a few killed nothing much. I was beginning to feel pressed with time, and so I ran out to the car, when the strong sun outside caught me by surprise. I was blinded for a second, when I bumped into the elderly man walking the street.
I couldn't apologize more, when he fell down, probably breaking some ribs on the sidewalk, just outside my home.
Damn that sun.
I would have stayed, to see he is Ok, or even called an ambulance from my cell phone, but I was late for work. It's a silly excuse, but it was the sun fault.
So I was driving with the damn sun in my eyes, cursing that ball of fire to the best of my knowledge, when I came to the junction of streets I had to cross, to get into my office parking. It was the

The invisible librarian of bartered treasures;
Things borrowed, stolen, earnt.
They come at eleven-thirty;
The latest generation, the Young Things,
Cooing and holding hands,
All flowers and chocolate and petnames.
Just moved in together, they proudly inform him,
Pots and pans for their new home.
The sizzle of passion, repression, confusion.
Unbridled, untested, new.
It fogs up the dirty glass,
Makes everything look a little more worn.
At midday, there's a woman,
One of his native species,
Her hair hangs limp, nails blood-red,
Lip twisted in a bitter snarl.
She pushes the box across the counter;
Razors, trophies, a set of cufflinks.
What remained when love, trust and honesty,
All found someone younger.
The fiasco of her love life,
Scooped up in a cardboard carton.
They complete the ritual,
She leaves fifty dollars richer,
With some pride conjured from the dusty till.
More goods for his shelves,

This is to certify that I, *your name here*, am the most perfect person on DeviantArt. My perfection and awesomeness really should have been obvious all along, but some people are just too stupid to understand blatantly self-evident truths.
As the Most Perfect Person On DeviantArt, I am entitled, now and forever, to all the provisions in this document. So all you less-than-perfect people memorize the following and behave accordingly. And remember, if you ever disagree with me, I will effortlessly defeat you using any or all of the following THREE AWESOME PHRASES OF AWESOMENESS:

School nearly killed me. For all the disorders I have, I should have been put in a special school, but my step parents decided it was too far away and too expensive. I had no friends, which I truly didn't mind. Loved ones always complicate matters of justice. Most people just ignored me. I had a few bullies. I've been fed underwear and kicked in the back which nearly paralyzed me. Traditional routes of seeking justice parents, teachers, administrators - all failed, surprise surprise. But I found ways to settle the score. It always mystified me how the simple act of guessing the jerks' Facebook passwords and forging messages to girlfriends was, to them, the equivalent of killing their pet or something. I could have done more to them, but Godfrey insisted that was enough.
I'm not a computer nerd by any means. I still have the same cinder block desktop machine I had when I was in school, which I used to write research pap
