We got into an argument today. It was about how I bought a one hundred dollar calculator, though we had an older version already. I opened it, I couldn't return it. I wasted your money.
When you realized that, you were livid. You then commenced with your usual dose of yelling, the kind that nobody sees coming. The kind that bursts out with so much violence, I'm surprised, and I feel scared for a split second. But whatever I do, I don't let you see that fear.
Why? It's because, well, dad, you're just like me. Or rather, I'm just like you. We're both stubborn, hot-headed, we hold a bad temper, and of course, we argue back. But you probably don't know that. It's hereditary. That's why I don't let you see that split-second.
My life was already in shambles today, just like every other young teenager out there. But when this happened, I handled it differently than I usually would have. I've made a lot of stupid, not-thought-out-well-enough mistakes, and you've gotten mad, a lot of

10 years have passed, something's never changed
Seems like we never left high school
Some frowned, some complained
One swore "I'll knock their faces down"
Still, we hugged each other, excitement's spilling over
Seems like we never left this bench
Where we used to sing a happy and emo song
We sat their and together flew the past
Funny scenes and crappy ones
We teased each other, laughed at one then another
The clock is ticking; at last we left the bench
Where the nine of us fit for minutes
It's been a while since we walked complete
Looking around, Seems like nothing has changed
Except for the sign where "Follow Me" used to hang
Robinson's Palace at last! Summer's heat still within us
We cling at each other's arms, afraid of jumbling with the crowd
We did some catching up, blurted "yikees" and giggles
Seems like something remained the same
Music? Movies? Nah! Love Life is what interests everybody
We're halfway of our adventure, everything is nicely flowi
What you have given meMy palms bleed from this rose you gave meWhat you have given me9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I couldn't feel the pain for I am mesmerized by its beauty
I held it tight, not wanting to let go
You'll soon see this blood stains and soon you will save me
But decades passed,
Hundred times you walked by,
Million times, I've cried for you.
But not once did you stayed and look through
This blood is wasted, dried up beneath my feet
These thorns stayed hidden within my grip
Every second of the clock, they sting, they hurt
My eyes are restless, but tears are translucent
I cried and cried but not a single sympathy
You gave me a rose, asked me to appreciate it
But now it burns from this glare I'm giving
From red to grey… ashes are all that is left
They burned me as well, I never did let go
Nothing is left of me
Because of this rose you've given me

I take them once,
I take them twice
but the pills don't
seem to suffice.
My mind is racing
with total doubt,
but the pills are running out.
Its hard to swallow,
harder to breathe,
I'm still not normal.
Why can't "weird" just leave?

Window of OpportunityI am dying. I am dying and there's nothing I can do about it. I know this, but I refuse to believe that I will just fade away quietly: that when I'm gone and when those that knew me are gone, that there will be nothing more of me in existence. I want to be remembered; I want to make a mark. Is it not the human condition to desire this?Window of Opportunity1 year ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
I feel that no matter what good thing I attempt to pursue, it takes me somewhere that I had never intended to be, and that much further from my goal. Every consequent step taking me further down a tangential path I never consciously made. I have two hands and a voice and the knowledge of how to use them, but I feel less and less that I am competent enough even to do that.
I don't desire fortune or fame, but at least profundity. I do desire to be a good person. I strive to be the best person that I can be, and I am not blind to the fact that I am clearly not achieving this goal. As each day passes, I feel myself sitting idly by as my potential slips and m

Lost Glitter"I'm here, hold onto me Selene" Endymion said, catching Selene's hand.Lost Glitter9 years ago in General More Like This
She laid her head on Endymion's shoulder.
He, Endymion, was trying his best to console his friend. Selene felt lighter with every minute she is with Endymion. Although, there was no exchange of words, she could feel that Endymion is willing to share her grief.
"I am alright now Endy…" she softly said. "Thank you! You have a generous soul."
Endymion smiled, "Anytime…" he looked at affectionately.
"How can I ever repay you Endy?" she said gratefully.
Endymion laughed, "I'll send my bills by and by" he joked.
"Then do me a favor," Selene said, being playful. "Don't charge too high or I won't be able to pay it."
"What? The moon goddess, not able to pay? And to think you are richer than Me." he teased.
"Well, if the thing we used there in the moon would be of any import here then I'll send them to you tonight." She joked back.
Instead of answering, Endymion just gazed at the lovely moon goddess before him tenderly. This

You can win
if you only try.
Sword in one hand,
shield in another,
he stands over his charge
ready to die.
He was the person
that you told everything to.
The one you went crying to.
The one who never ran out of hugs.
The one who soaked up your tears.
The one who you carried around everywhere.
The one who always slept by your side.
He's your teddy bear.
He guards over you at night,
because while you might not believe,
the monsters are still there.
They come at night
when you don't expect it
to take what they want.
you don't run to him anymore
your teddy bear remembers.
He remembers the endless love.
He remembers everything.
Every night he stands
sword in one hand,
shield in another,
ready to fight.
All for the person
who loves him the most.
The Joy of KillingThe chin was now clean, polished and soft. The man got up and looked at himself in the glass. He ran his hand over the skin and felt its freshness, its newness. The Joy of Killing3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
"Thanks," he said. He stood up to admire his newly shaven face in the mirror. I must have been very nervous, because I was afraid of what I might do to this man. Without even realizing it. My blade was once again around his throat. "What is this?" he asked. Without answering him, I slit his throat. His expression in mirror was beautiful. It was if his soul had escaped his body, his eyes were looking into the mirror with such a beautiful gaze. Blood was all over the floor and my shirt. I didn't bother to clean to up, I just wanted... to kill some more. The feeling of being able to take away a human life was amazing. I ran out of the shop laughing hysterically. The blood from my razor sharp blade was on my face now. It felt like I could keep running until I got to kill again. I ran into my house startling my wife who sitting on t
