Commissions?Lately, I've been getting messages asking if I do commissions. I decided to open one ages ago but I wasn't able to due to school activities and I got too involved in Tumblr. But after thinking thoroughly, I finally decided to open one. I'm still so unsure how it works but here are the details.Commissions?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Reason for opening up a commission
I need extra money so I can buy myself a tablet and some drawing materials since I'm almost out of them. Also, I need to save up for my future expenses on school... being a university student is just not so cheap. :iconOTLplz: ..and cosplay -cough-
What I will accept:
*Fanart (or existing series) - Besides One Piece, you can request for other manga, anime, games, etc., I'd really like to widen my drawing coverage!
*Original Characters - Just be sure to give me a reference
*Normal couples - You can tell me what feel, or pose, or I can totally surprise you xD
*Shounen Ai/Shoujo Ai - Same as above
What I won't accept:

What, you ask?
My "Art of Rise of the Guardians" book!!!! IT CAME A DAY EARLY. AWESOME SURPRISE. It has a foreword by Alec Baldwin, a preface by NONE OTHER THAN WILLIAM JOYCE HIMSELF, and is written by Ramin Zahen.
OHMYGOODNESS. IT'S AWESOME.
It had chapters on each of the characters and their lairs!! AND THERE'S AN ENTIRE. FRIGGIN. SECTION. ON. JACK.
Anyway, I'm writing Chapter 28 right now and should have it up! After that, I'm going to continue fangirling hard as I read through this entire 155-page book.
And then probably write some more. Because I'm going to be inspired.
I'll be sure to end up including some findings that this art book will provide in my writing so it stays accurate!
Thanks, and sorry about the spam.
SOMEONE PINCH ME, I MUST BE DREAMING.
Oh, and I'm going to go see the movie again for the seventh time tomorrow. Fangirli

Traditional Art Week continues! This article will give you a brief overview of most commonly used physical media techniques and their characteristics, featuring beautiful examples found all over DeviantArt and tutorials. I sincerely hope this will get you inspired to try something new and experiment, why not pick a tutorial and see what you learn! Don't forget, whilst techniques has their own regulations and principles, they still can be combined, you have to be no wizard (just a little creative) to find a new way to express yourself through them. Let's take a look
1. Drawing media
Drawing is one of the major forms of expression within the visual arts, and is generally concerned with the marking of lines and areas of tone onto paper. Traditional drawings were monochrome, or at least had little color, while modern colored-pencil drawings may a

This can really be interpreted in any way you like! It can be the start of the New Year, or Spring, when Nature comes back to life, it can be a wedding, starting a family, having a new family member (yes, PETS count! ), turning over a new leaf, realising what you want to do in life...
And the BEST thing about this theme, in my opinion, is that it's OPEN to ALL MEDIUM!!

Is Invisible Children Trustworthy?Since I posted the Kony 2012 video, a lot of people have been telling me that the organization is not to be trusted with donations and is under investigation (but raising awareness is still good). I don't know how much of it is true, but it's good to at least take it into consideration. Is Invisible Children Trustworthy?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Here's one of the many messages that people have been telling me. Please read carefully and judge for yourself:
" I do not doubt for a second that those involved in KONY 2012 have great intentions, nor do I doubt for a second that Joseph Kony is a very evil man. But despite this, I'm strongly opposed to the KONY 2012 campaign.
KONY 2012 is the product of a group called Invisible Children, a controversial activist group and not-for-profit. They've released 11 films, most with an accompanying bracelet colour (KONY 2012 is fittingly red), all of which focus on Joseph Kony. When we buy merch from them, when we link to their video, when we put up posters linking to their website, we support the organization.
Featured Artists!Hey guys! So apparently a lot of you did not get the notification about my last journal post in which I rambled about my travels to LA and Sakuracon, and announced the winners of the 50 Hand/Foot Challenge. That being said, some of the winners were awarded with a feature of their art, so please take a moment to visit and check out these select images from their galleries!
A new drawing challenge should be posted later on this month. You guys have given me a lot of ideas, so thank you!
What a talented artist! So many lovely works across multiple mediums! Big fan of the costumes and lovely traditional work, but who can resist PONIES?! Awww they look so soft and cuddly!

The Steampunk Menagerie
The magic of thousands of years of natural selection and other evolutionary factors has created in all living creatures pretty much the optimal version of each for where each fits in the world. But never tell a human being, especially a steampunk, that there’s no need to fix what isn’t broken.
Here’s a collection of interesting imaginings of mechanical steampunk replacements for the somewhat mundane denizens of the actual natural world. For some people, especially some artists, until there’s been an upgrade or enhancement to anything, there just isn’t any “there” there.

When you want to quit art, think about this...I think most of us had it at some point. A moment in which we felt sad about our art. It might have been a full developed artblock, or just a small moment of hopelessness, perhaps questioning our artistic career, asking yourself "Why did I actually start doing this?".When you want to quit art, think about this...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years, I've had many moments like that. Most of them triggered by another failed drawing, a total lack of inspiration (while I needed to get creative work done --nothing more annoying than that!), or another harsh critique that was just a bit too much to handle, at that particular moment.
I've had many times that I doubted myself. There have been times when I questioned my creativity in general. Times when I was sad about just another harsh critique, or depressed for being turned down by another group or publisher. Times when I got angry and shouted that I wanted to quit art altogether.
But eventually, I never quit.
The point is... no matter how angry or sad I am, it always takes me a while to calm down and

I'm going to be making a Jack Frost hoodie. That is my next big project in the lineup. I'm so excited. You have no idea.
My knitting project is almost done, which is why I permitted myself to line up this next project.
My Jack Frost collection is slowly growing. Let's see...I have five of seven ticket stubs from the seven times I've seen the movie in theaters (eight if you count in the one time I watched it online), the Art of Rise of the Guardians book, the "Story of Jack Frost" children's book, multiple songs from the RotG soundtrack that have Jack's theme song somewhere in them, a Ja

First of all, well, tommorow is the deadline for giving in my animation project at school. *Sigh* I have very mixed feelings about this. It seems we'll get some additional time until 8th september to finish our projects (like adding music, painting some backgrounds) but still it seems that only 1/3 of what's been planned is going to be done by that time. In order to keep the plot going I decided to not put in some finished scenes from the middle/end of the storyboard. But no worries!- I still want to complete the animation even if it doesn't have a specific deadline.
It seems I'll have also more time to animate on my own - before the end of this month, I'll be oficially done with my school (at least for a year, that's for sure). I want to spend this year on setting up some things, finishing overdue commissions (I still have 4 and that fact alone doesn't let me sleep at night) and dra

What's next?I am going to draw some random art and then start working on my next strip. YAY!What's next?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now, to fill this journal out some more, I'm going to give you something interesting to read.
I just thought I'd give you a little trivia about my comic strip.
-I based Stu's personality off of my own personality.
-I decided to make Stu (Ghostface) a main character because he's usually ignored by fans and the Scream movies deserve a little more attention in my opinion.
-I based Stu and Sadako's relationship off of my relationship with my girlfriend. One similarity is that she is foreign like how Sadako is foreign.
-I also based Jason and Ruby's relationship off of my relationship with my girlfriend before I knew how she felt about me.
-While Stu is the name of one of the killers from Scream, Stu in my comics isn't supposed to be the same Stu. I just named him after that character because I liked the name.
-I created Sarah to create a running gag in the strip. She is one of the two (or three i

I've lost count of how many times someone, be it a big corporation or an individual, have asked me to illustrate for them for free. It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. He said he might print up to 50,000 books, so that's like an amazing offer of 50,000 views for me right? Wrong. 50,000 is nothing. We live in the information revolution. Don't forget we have places like Deviantart, tumblr, and all those social networking sites. Sharing art, like sharing any information, has never been easier. You don't have to degrade yourself for some disrespectful publisher to get you art se

Artists have always feared that they are unappreciated and that the march of progress comes only from business, science and their machines. 1984 was imagined by an artist projecting these exact fears.
