Pinkie didn't know how long they'd been together really, it felt like a few weeks but the way the sun and moon zoomed up and down randomly left time multiple levels of distorted. Not that she minded.
She loved every minute of it. She even loved waving happily down at Twilight and the others as she and Discord raced across the sky in a pair of high speed, floating bathtubs.
They'd chased after her as fast as they could but Pinkie and her darling Discord had decided that day that flapping your wings should make you sink instead of fly and any chance they had of catching up quickly vanished.
Now, here she was, curled up between Discord's cool, furry body and Gummy's warm scales.
Not wanting to leave him out Pinkie had decided Gummy should change colors and for some reason the gator was now both warm and occasionally floated about their cloud palace.
It was great!
Discord stretched contently, wrapping his paw around Pinkie's belly and pulling her against his chest.
"Hey! Haha!" the little

Pinkie stood before her friends with her face full've stubborn determination.
She would not be swayed. No way, no how.
"Pinkie Pie. Please." Twilight's voice was strained but very matter-of-fact "You have to listen. I know you must think Discord is your friend but the things he's done are bad for everypony!"
Pinkie tilted her head, her eyebrow raised. "Whadda ya mean? I helped him with all of that! We made Equestria fun!"
"FUN?! I can't even fly to my house without getting swarmed by flying pigs!" Rainbow snapped, pawing at the floor with her hoof. "This isn't fun! It's just crazy!"
Pinkie's ears dropped, her eyes going wide at Rainbow's outburst.
"But...I just wanted to make things-"
"Crazy?! Is that what you wanted?!"
"Awright Rainbow Dash, that's enough." Applejack pressed her hoof to Dash's chest, pushing her slightly back. "Pinkie di'n mean nothin' by it she just didn't realize it was causin' problems. And we all make ma'stakes, right sugarcube?"
The party pony only stared

And so it was done.
The Elements of Harmony were lost and the ponies who once wielded them? Their spirits were broken.
As was their friendship.
Discord smiled proudly to himself. Coiled around the top of what was once Celestia and Luna's grand palace he once again felt like a King.
And a jester...and..well..anything else he damn well pleased!
He was the new-old ruler of Equestria and he was gonna have more fun than ever before!
He'd crack the ground and boil the surface of the world in molten hot cocoa, mountains would crumble into rock candy, the oceans would become sticky taffy!
It'd be great!
Discord's laughter echoed through Canterlot, sending the ponies below into even more of a frenzy.
All but one.
The dragonokis' ears perked at the sound of a strangely familiar sobbing.
"Ahh, Pinkie Pie." His voice was dark and uncharacteristically serious as he slithered down from his palace perch.
Pinkie sat in the now vacant patch of dirt where the palace labyrin

By the time Pinkie had regained consciousness she'd all but forgotten her trip through the labyrinth.
The fighting, the balloon garden, the elements..all just foggy shapes in the back of her mind.
She fully expected to open her eyes and see her cozy room in Sugarcube Corner, her little body wrapped safe and warm in the blanket Mrs. Cake had so generously given her...
Pinkies eyes shot open.
She wasn't in her bed, she wasn't in Sugarcube Corner and she most certainly wasn't curled up in a warm blanket...
Instead she found herself high above Equestria, looking up into the endless blue of the sky while below her the sound of pouring rain and a bizarre popping sound echoed throughout the land.
Memories flooded the Party Pony's mind.
The Labyrinth, Discord, her friends laughing-
Her ears dropped immediately, her eyes squeezing shut tightly.
"N-no I...how did-?"
"Ah, you're awake my dear!" Discord's voice sounded so happy and full've optimis

Traveling to Discord's 'Cloud Castle' proved even more difficult than the five friends had imagined. In this warped, distorted world nothing ever was as it seemed and distance and depth perception were certainly fine examples of it.
"Ugh, this must be how Derpy Hooves feels!" Rainbow Dash groaned, her wings flapping wildly but sending her in all the wrong directions, especially down. "Poison Joke was better than this! At least than I KNEW when I was about to hit something, it didn't just run out in front of me!"
"I know it's frustrating girls but I think we're almost there." Twilight reassured them as best she could but sure enough, the castle continued to allude them. One moment it would be a mere few yards away, the next it would be miles. Trying to fly to it meant hitting an 'invisible wall' or getting swarmed by flying pigs and floating pies, and all that was provided you could even getting yourself off the ground! The whole ordeal was starting to take it's toll on the group

"Those accursed ponies!" Discord hissed, storming back and forth atop his cotton candy clouds.
Who did they think they were? Taking his Pinkie away like that! Filling her head with peaceful...peaceful sense!
Harmony was dull, friendship was boring!
She didn't need friends! She just needed him. He made her laugh more than they ever could!
She had to go with them.
Well, fine. He didn't need her anyway. He only needed himself. In his chaotic little world it was just him and his nonsensical creations.
As it should be...
"ARGH!" He pulled at his ears, growling loudly and falling back, a large, extremely comfy chair appearing just in time to catch him. "Why won't you get out've my head you little-"
The Chaos spirit growled and sunk low in his chair.
How did this end up happening? He had always been fine on his own, ruling Equestria in chaos, the echo of his own laughter all the company he needed...but now?

Pinkie sighed blissfully as she felt a scaled tail wrapping around her tiny frame.
Cool breath on the back of her neck and thin, sharp claws stroking her hair all reassured her she was safe and secure, pushing out any memories of hardships. Tough, life altering decisions?
Pfft, nope. None of those.
She opened her eyes, gazing groggily around the room.
No tail, no claws, no clouds. Just Twilight's library and her legs tangled in blankets on her friend's bed.
She sighed but smiled, hearing her friends voices from downstairs, even though she knew they were talking about something she wasn't a fan of.
"How do we stop Discord now?"
Rainbow's voice always got a little whiny when she was frustrated and at least a week, normal time, of searching out the chaotic spirit had turned up exactly squat, frustrating her to no end.
"I've been thinking about that, Rainbow, and I think I have a plan."
Pinkie's ears drooped. Twilight always had good plans

Discord's chaos had become familiar to Twilight all-to-quickly.
Candy raining from the sky, buildings made of cardboard, inanimate objects dancing and laughing, a whole slew of bizarre and constant nonsense.
The chaos spirit had always been threatening, but in an unsettling, uncontrollable way.
Now, looming over the group with dark clouds swirling around him and an expression of pure malice, he looked positively evil.
"I'm so terribly sorry, my little ponies. Did I ruin your little bull session? Here I was thinking I was invited to the party only to find it's apparently a 'turn-Discord's-friend-against-him' hatchet job."
His pupils narrowed, eyes focused on Twilight.
"Hatchet job my hoof!" She snapped back, stamping her hoof on the ground and lowering her head and ears in defiance. "We told Pinkie Pie the truth! And now that the six of us are back together, nothing can stop us!"
"Oh, bleh." Discord rolled his eyes, his tongue lolling out've his mouth to emp

Boredom will come eventually, but for now entertainment can be found in going over what went wrong. His plans had gone perfectly so it was difficult to find what flaws there were. Normally he wouldn't admit that he made any and that it was the fault of those around him that he was encased this way. The confrontation between those six and the two princesses were unalike in many ways. The most startling difference had been who had become the owner of the Element of Laughter. In the first battle, the elements were split between the two sisters, and it was Celestia who proudly wore the Element. Her fun and games were reserved, and even in her most light hearted moments, there was decorum and rules. She was utterly boring, and perhaps it was thanks to th
No JokeIt was all so stupid anyway. She was so stupid. When she was little her family had always impressed upon her the value of hard work, the frivolity of anything that went beyond that basic principle. When you lived on a rock farm, eking by was the best you could hope for. You got what nourishment you could by licking the mosses and lichens off the rocks, then you moved them around in hopes that a little more would have grown by the next day. She had thought it would change when she discovered happiness. For one glorious evening she and her family hadn't worried about their rocks, or how tired they were, but had fun. Fun, she thought contemptuously. Fun doesn't help anypony.
Even the sight of sugary pink clouds, the downpour of chocolate milk, only made her more and more bitter. I hate chocolate rain! she thought bitterly, her hooves sloshing through the puddles towards Sugarcube Corner. The build
Forever AsleepPinkie Pie could have slept for much longer if she didn't feel wet drool dripping onto her snout. Her eyes opened in an instant, and she saw the cause was her pet alligator sleeping on her face. She smiled, finding this a pleasant sight to wake up to. She gently moved her head to roll Gummy onto her pillow, and slid out from under her bed sheets, excited to see what today's weather would be. She propped her front hooves on the nearby window sill and to her delight saw tornados of spaghetti and gumdrops swirling across the land. With a merry hum, she began bouncing out of her room and strolled through the intricate hallways that today were made out of melting wax. It allowed her to slide all about, and her ecstatic giggling bounced off the walls. She could have easily slid all morning without breakfast, but one of the walls dissolved, allowing her to pass through and bump into the breakfast table. As per the norm, her diet was only sugary sweets,

Same Sugarcube Corner.
Same clear, cloudless blue sky.
The list could go on and on in Pinkie's mind. It was all she ever thought about anymore. The usual, boring consistency of everyday life in Ponyville. None of this had occurred to her before. But it was undoubtedly the truth, after seeing the fun house the town could be, right?
She was referring to that day, the day of complete and utter chaos.
Was it that bad? Something that absolutely had to be stopped, no matter what the cost? Come on! Chocolate rain? Cotton candy clouds? Floating buildings? Even if she was gray half the time - that was fun stuff!
A small frown crossed the pink pony's face, a sigh escaping her nostrils. Yes...
Life was indeed boring here. And it had never once crossed her mind.
