:iconredroseplz:I decided to write a journal to let you my writers friends know a little more about the Literature Community in DeviantArt. There are 65 Community Volunteers in DeviantArt for all categories of Art, you can find them all here :iconcommunityrelations:
Literature has two, they are :iconBeccalicious: and :iconthorns: They are doing a lot to help the Literature Community and they are the ones featuring Literature Daily Deviations. I asked :iconBeccalicious: why sometimes there is only one Literature Daily Deviation, she told me because ıt is a very hard task to find good quality Literature and also because they don’t recieve enough DD Suggestions from you guys.
So please, If you find a very good piece of literature, be it prose or poetry and you think it deserves a DD, send your Community Volunteers a note entitled

Hello there friends
It's time for our next feature. The Poet Feature
Before we start, I have an announcment for all the beautiful Deviant Poets, all my dear friends and watchers, who are either poets or they enjoy poetry.
I have created a facebook page for the poets of DeviantArt. We will be sharing Poets profiles on this facebook page and their poetry, as links of course for their page. This way so many other poets on the page will have the chance to meet each other. This will help the unknown poets to have more support, more watchers, favs and feedback. The more membrs we have the more support the poet will get. It will be like a DD for the poet. If we have just 500 member, and we share a poet's profile, he will be seen by so many Deviants.
I hope you guys join our page. It's a big project and we need the support of every poet on DeviantArt. You will help us start
Today, I am HeartbrokenThis past week our nation witnessed one of the most horrific violations in history. A beast that I refuse to name, planned and then killed 12 people in a theatre in Colorado. I won't go into details of how, why, or who committed this atrocity.Today, I am Heartbroken2 years ago in Personal More Like This
What I WILL address is the idea of our Constitutional "right to bear arms". The misconstrued perception of this "right", saddens and confuses me. The archaic belief that having a gun in our houses will enable us to "defend ourselves" is not only statistically improbable, it is metaphorically AND literally unsettling to those who live with us. A loaded gun in a house says,"I don't trust people", "I am afraid someone will break in and hurt us", and also "I am willing to shoot to kill another human being".
If you have a gun in your house and it is NOT loaded, the statistical probability of you being able to get to it, load it, and confront a home invader AND for the outcome of that confrontation to be positive in ANY way, is insignificantly small.
nature of human fetishismRecently I noticed a rising amount of people pointing out other forms of bdsm, and how I handle the topic as if the approach I speak of is the only onenature of human fetishism2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I may as well clarify some things. Yes, I am aware of many other forms of bdsm, starting from self bondage to 24/7 bondage to real hardcore sadism play...for those that roll like that yknow
So... why don't I get into all of those?
Well it is simple really, a few simple reasons
1 if I went into those I would inevitably be asked why I don't cover inflation as linked to bondage... because... it is. Or tickling bondage or permanent bondage....
2because I cover the balanced peoples bondage
3because to competently write about some of that stuff, I would have to experience it, and as wide as my range of experience is.... and make no mistake ...iiiits wide. I do draw lines at some points
See, here is the thing, bdsm is a part of my life...BUT!!!! It does not constitute all of my life. This is what I mean by

So you wanna be an artist?Hello fellow deviants. So, looking to be a better artist? Wanna improve? Well I got some tips for you. Drawing is fairly easy, really. It just takes greater skill to draw something good. It takes time and patience. Lots of practice will help you greatly! I've been drawing since 4 years old. 17 years later, here I am continuing to draw because I have a passion for art. I've always loved art. If you wanna be an artist, you gotta have that passion, that need to draw. Remember now that it takes lots of time and patience. Lots of studying will help. It's all skill. If you are not proud of what you drew, don't bring yourself down. Just look at the mistakes and tell to yourself, how can I improve? Practice, practice, practice. It makes better. Look around for inspiration, it's everywhere. I remember coming upon my favorite artists' works and thinking, I'll never be that good. But don't let that sadden you. Just work hard, put a lot of effort into your drawings. If you don't have patience, whySo you wanna be an artist?4 months ago in Personal More Like This
My DeviantArt Love StoryMy dear friends, I want to share this with all of you. My DeviantArt Love Story. My DeviantArt Love Story2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are so many reasons why I love DeviantArt. The amazing friends I made, the joy I get from sharing my poetry with all the talented gifted Deviants. The support I get from all my watchers, which makes me want to write even more.
But most of all I love DeviantArt because here, I found the love of my life. My dear husband verybigbonedvirtuoso
Today is March 16th. Three years ago in this same day, we found eachother here on DeviantArt. On March 16th we said the first Hi. That day I woke up thinking it was just another usual day, but It wasn't. It was the day that defines my whole existence.

So few of my Deviant friends knew about our story . F

I try to give out the result faster than usual since DA is having promotions for premium member subscription. That's why I try to give you the result sooner so you may use your points for it. Though it's not enough but I hope it can help some how .
With a lot of entries therefore it took me while to choose top 5. This time, so many good entries with great concepts. It's really hard for me to pick 5 only.
I don't pick the top 5 base on drawing skills only but also the concept of their entries. But there were more than 20 entries I want to pick as winners :C. But don't worry, we will have more challenges in future.
I am truly sorry for who don't make it, not because you are not good but because we only choose 5 here. As I usually said for challenge, it's not a contest, it likes a little 'push', a little motivation for you to draw (it's also a reason why the prize for top 5 is just little). If you don't make it this time but I believe you earn somet

the myth about talentMany people are under the assumption many of the high profile artists in the digital art community are mainly good because of talent. This is not completely true(in my opinion). What does make them great is the simple fact of constant and regular practice. But if you still like to cling to the word, then talent is just in other words an ambition and motivation. This word,"talent" has been branded with something that you think is something that can only be inherited and if you dont have it you are doomed to fail. Many people has lost potential careers because of this.the myth about talent1 year ago in Personal More Like This
well folks let me put that myth to rest because i think anyone with ambition and motivation can learn any tool and any skill. And if you are not learning it, it is because you are not working hard enough on it.its simple as that. The practice will open your eyes and you will develop to see things in different ways, once again this has nothing to do with talent. Once your understanding of all the levels of art gets wide

Sai's Comic Tip of the Week!
Unlike narration I'm not going to tell you to avoid exposition. Exposition is absolutely unavoidable, there are times where you simply need to have a character explain something so that the audience understands about the plot or the world.
But you can be smart about it, make sure it makes sense for the character giving the information to actually have knowledge of that information, work it into a meaningful scene that moves the story along or develops a character, and above all else it is essential to make it sound natural and how people actually speak. You can cover some of the information you need to give to the audience in narration, but as I said last week narr
The Three problems with how we learn art: pt.2 I've been thinking about how and why we learn to draw for a few years now. I started self-analazing my own drawing and character design thought process when I began writing my first art instruction book, "Creating Characters with Personality". It was harder than I thought to verbalize how I've learned and how I process drawing. This has led me to start looking back at my artistic life and how I learned art. What made me learn the most? What drove me to draw and stick with it? What led to others I knew as a child to stop drawing? I think I'm ready to present some of those thoughts here on DA and hear what you think. This is part 2 of three in a series. I'm not sure where this is leading, but step one is my establishing an online art instruction school called Taught ByA PRO (http://taughtbyapro.com) that will (in phase one) concentrate on drawing instruction for all forms of media. Here we go:The Three problems with how we learn art: pt.23 months ago in Personal More Like This

On Art Schools + Art Style: A response to EndlingEndling posted this [click here] answer to a questioned by one of his followers on Tumblr. On Art Schools + Art Style: A response to Endling1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It pertains to how his art school and supporters treated/reacted to his particular art style in an academic and professional setting. Give that a read first then come back here.
I posted a response to it that I also wanted to share on my DeviantART. (If you're getting tired of me ranting about my experience at school, sorry, but this stuff means a LOT to me. I want to try to inform other people of what my time was like there so that if YOU go, you're all the wiser.) Response was as follows:
This is partially one of my problems with art schools at this point in time. They're ridiculously expensive, and because of the rapid change in art/media industry and culture, fall into generally one of these two categories:
1) They typically have instructors who are remnants of doing their bes
Speedpaint Tips: Getting Started! In the interest of helping people who are new to speedpainting get started, and also in the interest of getting tips and tricks out in the open that might be helpful to even those who have done it a while, I'm opening this Journal entry up to the group to post your speedpainting techniques to share with the group!Speedpaint Tips: Getting Started!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Guidelines for posting (I believe this will help keep the thread readable to those coming in):
1) Give your technique a title
2) Provide a description with as much detail as is necessary to allow someone to try the technique and obtain some success with it
3) If possible, provide a link to examples that use this technique, and indicate how the technique was used
4) Please only include one tip per post
5) You may ABSOLUTELY respond to other people's posts, ask questions, and extend the tips! As this isn't a forum, please make sure you respond to the right posts when asking a question, or the original author might not see it! Questions should ONLY go under existing tips though.
No, I DON`T work for free!So please stop asking me to do requests, work for websites, illustrations for books, T-shirt designs, etc. FOR FREE!No, I DON`T work for free!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Seriously, I don`t shit money. I don`t work because it`s oh so much fun but because I need to earn money to make a living, and still I need my 400-job in the supermarket because my art alone isn`t enough.
Barely have time for my own pictures ( and geez it sucks for an artist to have a lot of ideas in mind but no time to draw them ) but then complete strangers expect me to use my little spare time to work for them without any profit? I don`t care if you don`t have money for art, if you don`t have it then don`t ask for it.
If you went to a store and asked for a Blu-Ray player, DVD, etc. but whined you had no money but still wanted it they wouldn`t give it to you for free either.
I need an income more than you need free art.
Rant end. X|
Speedpaint Tip #2: Colors & LightWhen you approach the topic you intend to paint, whether painting from life or from whatever's stewing in your head, you always, always come to the table with preconceptions. For instance, think of the color of a leaf.Speedpaint Tip #2: Colors & Light4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Or is it? In a speedpainting, objects aren't out of context of their setting or light source(s), so lets consider where that leaf is before we determine its color. Say it's a leaf at midnight under a full moon. What color will it be then?
Well, technically this is where it gets complicated!
1) When considering what the color of an object should be in a scene, start by figuring out what color it would be under plain white light.
-In the case of our leaf, lets say it would be green. Standard, out-of-the-tube green.
-Remember, light is additive. White light is ALL colors of light. When white light hits our green leaf, we see green, because only the colors of our leaf get reflected back out for our eyes to see. The red light gets absorbed rather than refl

"To stand at the edge of the sea, to sense the ebb and flow of the tides, to feelthe breath of a mist moving over a great salt marsh, to watch the flight of shore birds that have swept up and down the surf lines of the continents for untold thousands of year, to see the running of the old eels and the young shad to the sea, is to have knowledge of things that are as nearly eternal as any earthly life can be." - Rachel Carson
Nature is something that surrounds us all and never stops to amaze me.It is full of beautiful patterns, hidden secrets and mysteries. It makes me smile, wonder and awe.
Not long ago, when I came back home from work and felt really exhausted. I choose to sit outside and close my eyes. When I felt the slight breeze flicker through my hair and heard the cheerful singing of the birds, I felt an
