Vector Art is a technique, not a style.
Perhaps a better term would be "vector-based art," meaning art created in a vector-based program. Vector art consists of creating paths and points in a program such as Illustrator or Freehand. The program keeps track of the relationships between these points and paths. Vectors are any scaleable objects that keeps their proportions and quality when sized up or down. They're defined as solid objects, and can be moved around in full, or grouped together with other objects. Vectors can be defined by mathematical and numeric data. So vector art is anything that's created in Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, Flash or other "vector" illustration programs.
(Vector programs: Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, Flash, etc.)
The other side of the coin is raster art. Raster art consists of pixel information, where every pixel is assigned a RGB or CMYK value. This can create smoother and more detailed images for photo

During my years as a pixel-artist and iconist on the Internet, both here and in other websites, if there's one thing I've constantly encountered and battled against, is people copying my work in several levels.
The first level, is when they simply take my work and upload it somewhere else, claiming it as theirs.
The second level, is when they take my work, edit it slightly and then upload it somewhere else, once more claiming as theirs.
The third level, is when they take my work, and re-make one "of their own", copying my palette, my style and everything else, then upload it as theirs because they think it's fair-game because they "redid it!".
All three fairly common, all three fairly easy to deal with and quite honestly don't bother me as much anymore, especially the first.
However, there's one last level, which annoys me the most, and that is...

I need some practice, and drawing the same characters and scenes over and over may be stalling me a bit. I recently opened up a "request a drawing of your character" thread that received a lot more replies than I thought would come my way.
So this little journal entry will serve two purposes. I'll link all the completed drawings here. I'll probably need to ask for the thread to be locked before I get too many requests... so this post will take the thread's place.
And I'll still take requests if you who are reading this post would like one. However, as of right now I have about 20.
They're not first-come first-serve, but I'll try to prioritize based on who asked first. I'll also give priority to anyone who has been supportive of my endeavors (watching, critiquing, etc) since one good turn deserves another. I may have to skip over ones I feel are too difficult until I've practiced a bit more.

Okay, first of all, I'm not one of those guys who believes a woman should stay in the kitchen and stay at home and not work. Anyway, so the goal is simple, you need to draw or write a situation involving the characters linked in a moment, and to capture their personality and looks (if you're drawing) as well as you can. I'll be judging on which ones showed how they are and act to the situation the most. An example of that would be > Rosa gets groped by a random guy and gets extremely upset. Again, your goal is to put one or a few of my characters in a situation and to capture their personality.

The only rules:
1. It has to be clean art, no porn. Suggestive/cheesecake is fine!
2. You have to be a watcher of mine. If you want to watch me just to get into the contest and unwatch after you win/don't win- that is up to you and I can't really stop you.
3. The drawing will be of only 1 character in a simple background. Complexity is fine. Keep in mind my drawing/art style when requesting. If it seems like something that I don't do- you probably would be better off requesting something else.

Definition:
A cameo role or cameo appearance (often shortened to just cameo) is a brief appearance of a known person in a work of the performing arts, such as plays, films, video games and television.

Hey everyone! I've decided to run a short term writing contest. I really don't feel like writing gets enough attention here on DeviantArt, and it is DEFINITELY an art!
I am going to post a series of prose prompts. Prose is essentially a short story. To enter the contest, you will submit a prose response for each prompt. I will post a new prompt everyday for 10 days. At the end of the ten days, I will judge the contest based on all of a person's entries. I know it sounds a little complicated, but bear with me. Here are the rules:
1) I will post a new prose prompt everyday for ten days. All of the prose prompts will be due midnight November 30th, 2011. You may submit all of them at the end of the contest, but I recommend that you submit them daily or you might get swamped.
