DOLL FAQ. [updated 05/18/2015]Ok, so I decided to put up a Doll FAQ just like anyone else. Because my doll family is growing faster than I thought it would. I'm going to answer some straight questions I've been asked more and more lately, and ofcourse the standards of a Doll FAQ. Bare with me.DOLL FAQ. [updated 05/18/2015]4 years ago in Personal More Like This
For now it's just going to be the basic information about me or my dolls in general.
If there's anything missing in this FAQ please let me know !
It's going to be changed and edited in the next few months probably, so stay updated.
Sites where you can find me.
(to be edited later)
Am I allowed to use your photo's?
NO. If you want to use my photo for a specific purpose. LET ME KNOW. I might re-consider if you tell me personally and give me a proper reason.
Can I use your characters (dolls) for my own story/RPG.
No, my dolls are my own vision and characters. I put in a lot of effort into them and their story and such. But you're allowed to ask me. As long as I know about it I'm more okay with it. I w
'You thought I was helpful!' Reverse Feature!Yeah okay, so I was searching myself on DA, just to see what came up. Lots of people who found my tutorials and resources helpful, is what! This is really cool, it makes me happy to know that a lot of the things I've done in the past few years have helped inspire and influence people to try something new, try something hard, to really push themselves forward! Whether it be practicing perspective, color theory, or just trying something new with my brush set, this journal is a selection of the stuff that really popped out at me, and to say thanks! This is a little celebration of all of you putting in hard work to get out of your comfort zones.'You thought I was helpful!' Reverse Feature!3 years ago in Personal More Like This

The FAQ :: Updated 12/02/11ImportantThe FAQ :: Updated 12/02/115 years ago in Personal More Like This
Please take any questions related to buying from specific companies to the company websites, they all have Q&A boards for that specific purpose, from now on I wont be responding to such questions as I am not a company rep.
Please bare in mind that this FAQ is intended to answer questions that I get asked regularly about my own dolls. While I have been in the hobby for a few years now I can't claim to know everything there is to know about BJDs, especially when it comes to companies I have little to no personal interest in. If you do have general questions about BJDs rather than ones specific to my photography or my dolls please do a search over on DOA ( http://www.denofangels.com/forums/index.php ) first. I will attempt to answer any questions I can but please understand I never intended this as a question and answer about the hobby or doll buying in general.
If the below doesn't answer your question then please feel

My Digital Art Workstation PC Starter GuideHey everyone! Sorry for the long-time-no-show-anything. I got a real studio job back in like January and it's been eating up pretty much all of my time.My Digital Art Workstation PC Starter Guide1 year ago in Personal More Like This
However, over on my Tumblr today I wrote a quick (but long) article about the kinds of parts you should choose to build a full workstation computer to do digital art and general productivity on! All on a budget of about $450 to $600 for just the computer system itself.
Go check it out if you're thinking about building one soon! I know you can build a system for cheaper than this, but the idea was not to pick parts that were bottom-of-the-barrel. The idea was to pick quality, upper-level parts that will allow you to start doing work right away with plenty of room to upgrade to add even more performance over time (more memory, an SSD, a video card, etc.)
Hope it helps at least one of you out there!

I got the definitive word last week that Disney won't be picking up a second season of Motorcity. I want to thank you guys for doing such an amazing job on this series. Everyone on the crew stepped up to an unbelievable degree. I feel like we did exactly what we set out to do - push the quality of television animation and deliver a show that's never been seen before. You guys are the greatest, most talented crew I've had the pleasure to work with. It's my sincere goal to continue to stretch the boundaries of animation with every one of you on many projects in the future!
Thank you so much for your incredibly hard work and passion. It shows in every frame.
Titmouse will always be making new shows that are more fun and fresh that those who only care about ratings and money. still few episodes left. enjoy! Motorcity forever.

FAQHere I've compiled a list of the questions I get asked the most often ^_^FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This
1) How long have you been making miniatures?
I started out in July of 2008 with a book by Sue Heaser called Making Doll's House Miniatures with Polymer Clay. It's a fantastic book with very easy to follow tutorials on everything from miniature potatoes to Tiffany style lamps. I was amazed at how such simple clay techniques could produce incredibly realistic results. From there I started using pictures of real food as a reference and it's spiraled into an obsession ever since!
2) Where do you purchase your plates and other miniature accessories?
Luckily there's a local miniatures shop called Little Enchantments (http://www.littleenchantments.com) that has anything doll sized you could possibly ask for. I've also bought dishes and all sorts of cutlery from Ebay.
3) Do you make the plates or just the food?
I only make the food ^_^ The only n

Have an Adoptable Fund ready
Having some extra cash in your paypal or extra points in your dA helps you a lot in case you wish to purchase a limited hold-time adoptable. To avoid scamming, many adoptables artists ask for payment within a certain time frame (one or two days generally) and having a fund helps you when you see an adoptable you really want. Sometimes artists will let you put an adoptable on hold, but it's still better to ask first if the 'hold' option is available or not before claiming.
Find an Adoptable that you really like
Adoptables often come in sheets or maybe you follow a lot of adoptables artists and no one can deny that there's a lot of choice around dA. Since you finances are not unlimited, you might find yourself in the tight spot of choosing an adoptable over another. The point here is, you need to *choose*. Because asking both and then making one
Frequently asked1. How long have you been using watercolors?Frequently asked6 years ago in Personal Journal More Like This
I started more actively as I entered high school around 2002.
2. What kind of paper do you use?
3 different ones: Classic watercolour paper 250g/m², Bockingford watercolour paper 300g/m² and Canson's Montval watercolour paper 300g/m², which I found from a discount.
3. Paper size?
Usually A4 (8.27 x 11.69 inches) or half smaller format A5, since they're so easy to file in that size.
4. By "aquarelles" do you mean colored pencils?
No, but fine watercolors. All the watercolors I use come as button-colors (or "cakes" as some call them).
5. What's the difference between fine watercolors and thicker watercolors?
Fine ones need more water and less color to look smooth and make wonderful washes, unlike with thicker ones you need to use more color and less water for it's different opaque. The thicker watercolors I use are called "peitevärit" in Finnish, but I don't know the correct translation fo

When i was young like 20s, used to draw with a smile on my face all the moment, from the begginging to an end of the drawings. Turn out the light get in bed, get up turn the light again watched the drawing, smiled, then go again to bed, and sometimes i watched over 3 or 4 times before i got to bed, saying luv that piece.
Then years pass, you become a pro, you learn tons of new things, change to digital, and the smile fades away....
What changed, were your twin go.....thats the questions ive been doing for the past 3 years, until last week, solved the puzzle.( i mean if you can solve a rubiks cube you can solve everything, i do, luv my cube).

10 yearsI just noticed, today is the 10 year anniversary of this Deviantart account. How disturbing and weird. If only I would have taken art seriously for all of those 10 years, but then I would be a completely different person. I haven't changed as much as most... but at least I'm not the same angsty teenager I was when I made this account. The younger me would have expected me to be married with kids and a mortgage by now. The current me expects that to be the case in the next 10 years. Hopefully future me doesn't mess that one up. At least I will count on my future self to be twice as good at art as I currently am... but let's aim for at least three times as good.10 years3 years ago in Personal More Like This

World-building, for me, is one of the biggest things about fantasy. It has, in many cases, saved a book from sucking. Conversely, poor world-building can drag a brilliant plot and excellent characterization down. What is world-building? It is consistency of logic and the new rules that you introduce as part of the story. Easy to say, hard to do. World-building, in good fantasy, more often than not, provides some kind of critical plot point. (If it doesn't, that's okay, but really good fantasy usually takes an established rule and gives it story stakes.)
Examples? Phillip Pullman establishes the rule of daemons in his His Dark Materials trilog
