Phillip Island
Victoria

Another shot from the base of the Pinnacles in June this year when the weather was wild, swell was up - challenging conditions but a great reminder of nature's powers. You can access this area from a turn off to Cape Woolamai. From the farthest car park it was about 45 minutes pleasant walking (in the right conditions). Only the last part is tricky going down a slope in the muddy conditions.

Binalong Bay
Tasmania

Binalong Bay marks the southern end of the Bay of Fires Conservation area on Tasmania's North East coast. It is renowned for its red lichen at the water level. I was led to this tree by a fellow photographer Matthew Stewart who has also taken several compositions of the same spot. This image is one of a handful which will appear in an upcoming book entitled 'Tasmania: a visual journey'. Hopefully, it will be in the hands of all of the co-authors including Ian Wallace (who put it all together) by Christmas!

Cradle Mountain
Tasmania

Dylan and I sneaked away on a quick 10-day trip to Tasmania over the Easter break. Our goal was to capture the turning colours of the fagus in the stunning setting of the Cradle Mountain region. Alas, we arrived too early, so there were no red leaves frosted in early morning dew to capture (they were just turning from yellow to orange), but we had a ball photographing Cradle Mountain itself.

This image taken on one of the three evenings we spent trying to hunt down the perfect conditions. On this night Dove Lake was still, but there were no clouds to add interest to the sky. I took the shot anyway... I had to show something for standing out there freezing my fingers off!

An impressive blaze of colors at the western tip of Europe right after sunset. The ‘Boca do Inferno’ is one of the most beautiful and interesting rock formations that can be found in Portugal.

First Falls , Morialta Conservation Park

In winter, these falls flow rapidly - this winter has been particularly wet allowing this shot which I've not been able to take before. It lies 20 minutes due east of adelaide and 5 minutes from my house.

ISO 50 , F16, 2 exposures, 16-35mm F2.8 lens, 5dmk II
