I saw a journal like this one on danielleclaire 's profile and LOVED the idea! So I decided to make my own!
Just a reminder, if you're a new client please don't forget to leave me a review here! ;v;
This journal is for my clients to post their reviews regarding their commission experience with me, be it good, bad or neutral! I'd love to get reviews so I can improve how I handle my commissions and besides feedback is always nice!
If you can explain why you enjoyed/didn't enjoy it'd be awesome too! Just please remember to be fair and tell me why you did or didn't enjoy the experience and final piece
So please, if we worked before recently or in the past spare a minute of your time to leave me a feedback! ;v;
[ I'll hide comments that are unrelated to this journal, I won't hide any feedback, be it good or bad ;v;]

PE: Watercolour and saltWatercolour and saltPE: Watercolour and salt1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Watercolour painting provides us with fantastic possibilities to create various textures. They can be achieved in many different ways with use of many different side components and equipment - in this article, I'll focus on salt textures. It usually takes time to get a handle of it - like everything else - but the outcome is definitely worth it.
Water and pigment
The three factors that determine the effects are the amount of water, amount of pigment and amount of salt, with the two first being the harder part. The more water you use, the more time it takes for the paint to dry and the more time the salt has to work - therefore the pigment will be pushed further away and you'll get bigger, paler spots between darker pigment borders. Less water will get you smaller, star-like

This is a informative article, outside of the normal DLD activities, to bring awareness to a pair of bills currently under much discussion and debate. These bills are called called SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIP (Protect IP), presented to the House of Representatives and the senate (respectively) in the United States. Later in this article, we will also discuss how these bills have a world wide significance. At the end of the article are several links to the actual bill, news articles, and forum/journals related to this topic. Our aim here is to give to a brief overview, and to answer some questions concerning this debate.
SOPA itself is an attempt to stop online piracy both domestic and foreign by the United States Gov't. It employs a variety of tactics in order to achieve this, including scannin

✿ Watercolor Equipment II - Additional Tools
In the first week of Artist's Toolbox, we discussed basic Watercolor Equipment such as paper, brushes and paints. Second week's article presents additional tools, equipment that some artists use to enhance their watercolor creations or just for the fun of it, however none of them is crucial to create a watercolor painting.
I divided these tools into two categories - those used to Create Highlights and those used to Create Textures. Bottom part of this article belongs to our watercolorists and their Personal Experience regarding additional tools.

Who doesn't like experimenting with media? I admit that I didn't expect it to be so fun until I actually sat down to it. Below you'll find a list of some weird things I did to a bunch of innocent watercolour rectangles.
Salt and sugar
Salt is nothing new for people who's been dealing with watercolour for some time. Depending on the amount of water, pigment, and salt - as well as the grain size - you can acquire a whole variety of textures. They all have the same thing in common - they push the pigment out, and leave brighter spots. I have a separate article on salt textures here.
The green bit was treated with the common kitchen salt, small grains. The pink one was hit with coarse bathing salt - as you might have guessed, it was blue. Contrary to what you might expect, thicker grains won't get you bigger "anti-stains".
I've heard a lot about

✿ Watercolor Equipment
Watercolor is a painting technique in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-soluble binder. Usually, the result is transparent and appear luminous because the pigments are laid down in a relatively pure form with a few fillers obscuring the pigment color. This medium was never taken as seriously as "high art" techniques such as oil painting and was rather seen as pale and miniaturist, but it's gradually reclaiming it's place as a vehicle for the most beautiful and unexpected artistic expression. Watercolor can be vibrant and large, very vital, spontaneous and leaning a little on luck. All these aspects make watercolor painting a medium with great potential for new discoveries.

As for: Fuck talent! You'll find it if you scroll down
Topic 1: Am I on the right track to becoming a better artist?
Does your work from today, look closer to your initial goal than your work from last week? (this needs to be both in skill and idea.)
Good skills: Honing your technique, training you muscle memory, being more knowledgeable about your tools and art rules. With art rules I mean: Perspective, form, light, texture, composition.
Good ideas: Storytelling, characteristics, charm, emotion and design. Not just making things look polished but also convey something more, something that brings it to life and speaks to pe
How to work smarter and not harder on commissions:iconsaniika: Hi all!How to work smarter and not harder on commissions7 months ago in Personal More Like This
I am currently for several years now a freelancer earning my living with commissions and other side projects. Throughout the years I have made quite a bit of discoveries, tested what works for me or not and here is the compiled result on how to improve and make it easier for you to work on commissions. Some things might work for you better than others, but that's the trick - figuring it out on your own and finding whats the top for you.
Tip 1 - Create template responses
This is mostly helpful for saving up time. When I started I typed everything manually over and over again, however as my business picked up and I got more busy, templates helped me a lot. Templates shrink the time spent on correspondence. When you are doing everything on your own and don't have a secretary to take care of it, pre-typed text save time and hassle. For example you won't ma
