A big thank to all the friends who sent me good wishes, in addition to the thanks that I like to send to all the friends who have decided to follow my work or have decided to add my drawings to the collection of their favorites.
It's almost six months that I attend Deviant Art, and in that time I have met many people with qualities that go beyond those (great) artistics one.
The numbers are always cold, but they continue to surprise and flatter me: more than 2,000 watchers and almost 30,000 pageviews are unexpected and flattering numbers.
Thanks to all of you

"Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (pronounced "sah-win").
The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. Samhain was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and prepare for winter. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops.
The festival would frequently involve bonfires. It is believed that the fires attracted insects to the area which attracted bats to the area. These are additional attributes of the history of Halloween.
Masks and costumes were worn in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or appease them."

Judas is a Hebrew word meaning "praise be to God."
Tadeo means "courageous to proclaim their faith."
Simon means "God has heard my cry." A St. Simon and St. Jude are celebrating the feast on the same day, October 28, because according to ancient tradition the two were always together preaching the Word of God everywhere.
St. Jude Thaddeus was closely related to our Lord for his relationship with Saint Joachim and Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin. Nephew of these two saints, is both a nephew of Mary and Joseph, he is the cousin of our Lord Jesus C
See how much God loves us?See how much God loves us?1 year ago in Personal More Like ThisGod is NOT a servant, but He CHOSE to serve us.
See how much God loves us? And God underwent all these services and sufferings because of His Great Love for us.
Jesus once said that "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." (John 15:15)
Today we celebrate our Maundy Thursday: and for Catholics and Protestants, today we commemorate the day when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. The washing of feet during the time of Christ was considered as one of the "dirtiest" and lowest job around. But despite this, Jesus humbled himself even to the point of doing this dirtiest job of his time.
It is mind-bogging to think that an Almighty GOD will serve his own creations instead of the reverse. But all this He did because of one thing: because of Love- out of his pure Love for us. The dirty feet represent the

Dear St. Anthony, you loved God so much when you lived upon the earth.
You were even known, even then, as a great Wonder-worker, so great did His power live in you. Now that you are in heaven, you share in God's glory and in His power in a more perfect way. Look on me with kindness as I come to you in my need. I pray for healing for myself and for those whom I love. Amen.
Love thy neighbor.

I'm sure many people have already seen this video, a lot of people have been posting it on blogs and things, but I thought I'd link it as well http://youtu.be/DCRosY4sw7Y Top Ten Reasons for Hope from CatholicVote.org. Rather heartwarming video.
For the new year 2012, I had the idea that as a resolution every committed Christian could decide that they would all in their power to bring at least one person to Christ.
~marykyart and myself have had the idea of posting weekly awesome Catholics quotes (particularly from Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, and St. Augustine, the three most quotable Christian authors of all time). So... in honor of the last day of the year, I will share the following awesome quote from the estimable Jack Lewis:

Ten Quotes About Christian ApologeticsGreat Christian Thinkers: Ten Quotes About Christian Apologetics:Ten Quotes About Christian Apologetics1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Apologetics is not simply about reaching outside the church and helping people realize why Christianity makes so much sense. There are many people inside church congregations who are wrestling with apologetic questions; who come to faith but haven't ...had all of their questions answered. I think the pastor, the preacher, needs to realize if they want their people to be good and minister to the faith, apologists and evangelists, they've got to be equipped. They've got to be reassured about their faith. They've got to be helped to be able to explain it and defend it in the secular marketplace. Now maybe many pastors and preachers say, 'You know, I couldn't do this.' In which case, you need to bring somebody in who can. But there's a real need for the local church to see this kind of ministry as a priority in our present cultural situation. - Alister McGrath

Fabric Stores and AndrocentrismA message from an artist and someone who works at a fabric store: Stop gendering your babies with colour!Fabric Stores and Androcentrism1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Every day I have parents and grandparents-to-be come in and have fabric cut to make quilts, blankets, baby clothes, diapers, curtains, etc for their soon to be newborn. And yet, I'm always asked the same questions over and over:
"What do you have that's for girls?"
"Where is the boys section?"
"We won't know the gender, so we need to keep it neutral until it's born"
And worst of all: "Does this fabric look too girly to you?"
I usually give some sort of half-hearted, "Well, it's your choice, I'm sure they'll love it!" response, but my secret answer is: QUIT IT. No, that fabric is not "too girly". Why would an infant boy care if his pillow has pink flowers on it? Why would a girl care if it has footballs or zoo animals on it? Why are pink and blue so wholeheartedly reserved for girls and for boys that the thought of giving that colour to the other gender is laughable, or worse

Once again God has amazed me uber time! This really made me remember a verse in Saint Paul's letter to the Romans, chapter 14. I use to believe that people of a different faith were deviating from God. That was until God who is so so good showed me mercy and grace and began to explain to me about religion.Once again God has amazed me uber time!8 months ago in Personal More Like This
This morning's homily was about two women prophesying and Joshua talking to Moses. This is in the Book of Numbers chapter 11 verse25-29.
"And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spoke unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

Okay, we had this in church on Sunday, and i thought it was cool, so preaching to y'all nowjust paraphrasing what the pamphlet he gave us said plus some of my own thoughts
Where do dumb decisions come from?
Proverbs 22:3
"A prudent person sees trouble coming and ducks; a simpleton walks in blindly and is clobbered."
If you don't talk to God before hand about where you should take your life, you will end up in a bad place, or not where you wanted in the first place.
We are all born with the bent towards foolishness. But we can be purged of that foolishness though Christ.
Proverbs 9:6
"Leave your simple ways behind and begin to live; learn to use good judgement."
Proverbs 9:10-12
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For through wisdom your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.
If you are wise, your wisdom will rewar
Our art...and faith. As me and my sister become older, interests in art and animation (including other things) are becoming more prominent. Somehow, it feels as if it was something that YOU were destined to do. Your dream job will become a reality, and then suddenly everybody in the industry will know your name, start inviting you to their dinner involving exclusive meetings about projects, going to the coffee shop to meet up with a group to sketch, and just hanging out with ACTUAL people, and not virtual ones. The list goes on and on, and we can name many other scenarios that may happen when you land in a job in the industry. Sure, from what we can tell, it's not all fine and dandy all the time, and there is a business side to it to, but, you guys get our drift. Our art...and faith.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But, what happens if that dream job of yours was not made for you?
*This part may not be as relate-able to many, because since we are Christian, we are going to put our thoughts out into a perspective that represents our faith and our beliefs
