I've never joined a competition on dA before, I liked the topic of this one so I figured "why not?"
When I was a kid there was a monster under the bed, inside the lamp, under the cabinet, behind the picture, inside the picture, and anywhere that was dark. I found out later that the shapes I saw were the way my eyes adjust to the dark. When you're 4 monsters make a lot more sense.
I'm still learning how to color and stuff. If you stumble upon this and know a bit about color I'd love some suggestions
pencils, inks, and color by me. if you would like to color it go here and give it a go.
This was just too fun to make overall, and out of all three pieces took the longest. I've always wanted to get to make a quilt, so I designed the one you see on the bed. maybe I'll make it some day
My entry for Diablo III Reaper of Souls Fan Art Contest. Female Crusader. Poor girl didn't have a helmet on any of the references I saw so I added one because, you know, safety first when slaying monsters. Created with Clip Studio Paint (a.k.a. Manga Studio 5).
My brother was a dreamer, back when we were young he had this dream to build a submarine made of wood and a helicopter made of wood as well, he also wanted to build a jet pack also made of wood, because it was the only available material lying around.
I am the eldest of us three by the way, and i would just laugh at his crazy ideas, "a submarine made of wood? how will it submerge if it's made of wood?" I'd ask my self. Then one day i saw him gather up pieces of wood and started forming some sort of propeller, nailing them altogether, you could see in his face how serious he was. i just watched.
Even though he ran out of wood, he was still determined to build a propeller-type flight pack, he wanted to fly.
My brother and I used to be inseparable, he looked up to me, he would go where i would go, we were like brothers.
But came a time we became distant to each other, my so called friends did not want my brother tagging along, so i did something I regretted for the rest of my life, it as my own fault why as we grew up we became distant. I chose other people rather than family. Now that we're all grown up, I'm trying to pick up the pieces, trying to catch up, trying to build something i totally neglected.
We're somewhat okay now, but still, if i had not chosen others our bond would have been a lot better, i am happy for what i have, yet i regret causing him that pain, because of me the dreamer in him faded. This is the story behind this piece. I created a world where my brother and his dreams met.
This is my vision.
I made this as a testament to my brother, for my love for my brothers and for the rest of my family and to those who stuck with me even though i screwed up a lot of times.
Thank you for your time and for viewing.

I've been doing some artwork for a Kickstarter project called 'Afterearth: The Fall'. It's a post apocolyptic fantasy game in the form of a massive book, made up of over 500 pages. I'm having a blast working on these but there are still lots of pieces to be made, so I'll keep you posted!
