Book Review :: Food PhotographyHi FoodIsArt-ers!Book Review :: Food Photography2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
A while ago, =largethomas asked me to write a review of a food photography book I’ve been reading for you lovely people. It’s helped me immensely; in turn it may be able to help those of you wanting to further your food photography. Alrighty, here we go!
Ever since I entered the world of food blogging and cake decorating, my focus was always on making the food the art, rather than the photography. Taking photos was just a means to give my readers a reference. Joining deviantART inspired me to change this. Great food photography can make ordinary food look extraordinary, and takes extraordinary food to a whole new level. Armed with this new bout of inspiration, I decided I needed a book.
I soon came across Nicole S. Young’s, “Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots”. Nicole is a full-time photographer who specialises in commercial photography. Her book

The Serenely Powerful Art of `yuumei
In the top half of an hourglass, a polar bear and her cub perch perilously atop a wedge of melting ice, its dripping water becoming the "sand" that is inexorably drowning an urban couch potato figure in the hourglass's bottom chamber. The beautiful yet arresting digital painting is "Countdown" by yuumei and it is currently one of the most popular pieces on deviantART. It is "archetypal yuumei" in its perfectly balanced blending of a striking lyrically beautiful visual with an underlying urgent social or political message.
Her specialty is digital art in an anime style, but she often employs traditional watercolors and other elements. Her cause is saving and preserving what's left of the Earth's wildlife and its environment; she donates large portions of profits from her artworks to a host of wildlife and environmental organizations and urges all deviants and others to do the same. But what has really been her stand-out achievem

No matter the brave, fierce constructs we build and serve that would have us believe we are each one of us all alone as we make this journey, we make our way toward the end of all things side-by-side in our community of the living each day defying death. Our paths may be wildly divergent—the way of the hungry and impoverished traveling the same timeline with the grotesquely indulgent, the very best of us side-by-side with the most evil of us; but all headed for the same fate: dust. Today, I'm doing some "advertising" for different websites I found interesting through my exciting papercraft-searching journeys on the web!
There will be a lot of links, so, be ready!
This is a website I check every day, since it is updated every single day since 2006. Impressive isn't it? There are more than 9500 models listed in this blog!! If you want a specific model, just type it in the searching bar and you can be lucky! Or you can simply browse it, like you would do on 9gag!
214 pages of listed models. This is a useful website for searching and classify models.
The Tag thingyI was tagged by: :iconplos1299: , and im bored now, so il answer these questions. The Tag thingy8 months ago in Personal More Like This
1.) You must post these rules
2.) Answer the ten questions the person who tagged you made and make up your own 10 questions for the people you tag to answer.
3.) Choose ten people and put their icons on this journal
4.) Go to their pages and inform them that they have been TAGGED!
5.) Not something stupid like 'you are tagged you read this.'
6.) You have to legitimately tag 10 people
7.) No tag-backs.
8.) Can't say, no tags
9.) Everyone that has been TAGGED must make a journal entry.
1.How much would you rate yourself in terms of "perviness".....
Out of ten (for eg 2/10)
2. If I came out of your closet right now.....and I was going to touch and sexually assault you......What would you do?
Get my scissor and il go stabby stabby

AND IN OTHER NEWS
my stomach hurts o0o and i have a sinus infection (for the first time in my life) and basically i feel completely fine except i can't hear out of my right ear and my left one is getting kinda fuzzy and i've been getting more headaches more frequently (that and i can't sleep well at all) so that's literally the ONLY difference o.o so it's really weird considering i hardly ever get sick and now i'm taking medicine for something i barely feel (mostly because Spyfox207 told me that the pressure could cause me to lose my hearing and it freaked me out)
i'm also really terrible with getting things done...i kinda have a huge list i need to get done and i've literally got like NONE of it done

A Semi-Rant About Work and LifeSo, here is a list of things that I've noticed about things; life and work and such.A Semi-Rant About Work and Life1 year ago in Personal More Like This
If you come into a barbecue restaurant and ask for something vegetarian on the menu; I probably hate you.If you put your wad of paper towels in your cup and it still has liquid in it; I probably hate you.If you park so that nobody else can pull into the adjacent parking spaces; I probably hate you.If you come in at 3 pm after we stop serving breakfast five hours prior, and you have a fit because I can't help you obtain pancakes and french toast for your 'special diet' where you 'can only have those two things'; I probably hate you.If you come in, order nothing but a cup of coffee and sit for three hours talking to your buddies; I probably hate you. (Don't get me wrong, if we're not busy, that's no big deal. If you're at least entertaining me, I'm okay with it. But don't shoot me dirty looks for not pouring you two pots of coffee. Sorry. One pot of coffee per person.)If you pay me with a hundred dollar

Hello guys! How are you?
This "Go for it" Article is about Photoshop Brushes.
Many of us use brushes to enhance our works result. Whether they are drawings, vectors, paintings, manipulations, photographies, etc., the truth is that brushes are many times a life savior and, they help us achieve great effects in an great and easy way.
What are brushes?
Quoting my own Tutorial, "Brushes can be compared to stamps that we use in Photoshop (or in other program like Paint Shop Pro, Illustrator, Corel PhotoPaint, etc.). The main puropse is to add extra effect or details into your digital work".
I've created 2 Tutorials exlaining how to instal & apply Photoshop Brushes and, also how to create your own Photoshop Brushes. If you find them useful, please download t
25.Cross-posted from my blog. The entry is a little bipolar, my emo and epic nerdy fangirling all rolled into one. You have been warned.25.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Where do I even start? I'm glad to be alive.
It takes a lot of courage to put certain thoughts and feelings into words, too easy to be hurt for who we are, our heart's fragility can only withstand so much when it comes to our weaknesses, I think.
And so, I hadn't known how to write this, and I still don't exactly, not really. But last year -- getting over depression -- was surely the grandest achievement of me being 24 (and of course my doctor, who didn't even have to put me on antidepressants, thank you).
In many ways, I'd been afraid to write about it because I didn't want to jinx my recovery, it wasn't often I had something good like that. (Because you know, more than once, I'd thought that I was fine, just to find myself living in the very opposite of that the next months.)
It was a lo
How To Photograph Your CraftsThe absolute number one cause of rejection of DD suggestions for most Artisan Craft CVs is poor photography. There is nothing worse than seeing an otherwise brilliant piece ruined by a dodgy photo. But even beyond DD acceptance, if you want to people on dA to be able to appreciate your skill you need to be able to show your work off to advantage. How To Photograph Your Crafts2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Sometimes I'll tell a self-suggester that I can't feature their work because of the quality of the photography and they'll inevitably reply, "Oh, I'll have to get a better camera."
Repeat after me: the tools never make the artist.
You don't need a $9000 sewing machine to stitch a dress, you don't need a $1000 stand mixer to bake a cake, and you similarly don't need a top of the range SLR to take a brilliant photograph. It's all in how you take the photo.
To help us understand photography concepts a little more, Fella is going to help us out. Say hi Fella!
On misunderstandings about cosplayThis is a topic I've been meaning to talk about for quite a while now. I finally got the motivation to when Sarah sorairo-days emailed me to share my thoughts on what cosplay means to me, and what I feel it really means to be a cosplayer despite all the misconceptions about the hobby. It's for this article on Random Nerds, in which Sarah shares her side of it as well.On misunderstandings about cosplay3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years, I've witnessed how cosplayers are constantly looked down upon, which makes people apprehensive towards it. It's such a shame because it's a wonderful and rewarding hobby which brings people together. And in general, I am firmly against making anyone feel bad about doing something they want to do.
I am aware that the concept of cosplay might be too much for some individuals, but our intention definitely isn't to get all up in everyone's faces and say everyone should cosplay or whatever. We just want to promote a

It is my honor that I’m a featured artist as well as the cover artist for IMAGINE FX Magazine April 2014 which title is “Magic Manga”. This is the first time that Taiwanese artist be a cover artist. I appreciated I could share my works at an international stage. Furthermore, allow Taiwan culture has an opportunity to be displayed on world-wide cultural platform.
The introduction on cover said: “Paint art that pops, with fresh art skills from Taiwan's Han-Yuan Yu!” and in the official website said: “Han-Yuan Yu leads the charge. Our cover artist put a distinctive spin on his trademark manga, adding aboriginal costumes to create an indelible image. And he shows you how he did it in an in-depth five-page workshop.
This is another encouragement and improvement for my ability and art after I had been introduced on ImagineFX march 2014. In this issue, I d
