Dear President Obama,Dear Mr. President,
In case you didn't notice, this whole Iranian embassy plot might throw us into... oh, I don't know... something small along the lines of WORLD WAR THREE!!! This is one scary situation. A war with Iran? Now? Holy crap! This isn't good. We have the nuclear capacity to destroy the world 5 times over... and than another just for kicks. Do you honestly believe any of the threats are bluffs? A direct military response is the absolute worst situation. Do you remember what they tell you in health class? They tell you to use a condom before you stick it in. It's the same thing with this, but I'm pretty sure we don't have any condoms.
None of us want to see another 9/11, or another long campaign. As for a matter of fact, that's part of why we elected you. The last thing we need is a little multi-billion dollar adventure in the middle east. None of us want to mess with Russia, or China, or any other nation tied to Iran. Even if we win, we wouldn't; whoever won would be whoever

A lot of the information given in this journal may be identical or similar to the information and opinions presented in this news article, and this has been noted. Also, it may echo a youtube rant from a one "2, the Ranting Gryphon", which puts all of this in a faster, funnier, and more eloquent way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_ZiRT8Nwkk
A commonly used and often misconstrued new-media buzzword, "Cyber Bullying" is often used by those who are not cognizant of it's meaning or it's ramifications. In fact, it would be a safe bet to assume that a great number of deviants see the word thrown around to describe flame wars and trolling, w
A Letter To My Younger Self ContestAs the year begins to draw to a close, I'm keen to spark the inspiration and creativity that I sparked last year when the 'Letters To Me' contest was launched for a second time. Therefore I'm delighted to announce that for yet another year Letters-To-Myself is launching again. Please read the following rules and regs carefully.A Letter To My Younger Self Contest3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A Letter To My Younger Self
The idea is that you write a letter to your younger self - thinking about what you would say, what you wouldn't say. But as always with these contests, we're not just looking at the theme. There are prizes for creativity, inspiration, community choice and humour. I did mine a few years ago, and I have done a revisit since, and it does work. So if you entered before this contest and want to write again - please do. Just make sure your entries are fresh and new.

There is a whole category filled with a lot of unique stamps. Some are animated, some are static. The original size is 99x56px, but it varies depending on the preferences of each artist. They can be round, they can be square, they can be heart-shaped or whatever else your heart desires. Except the newer modern stamps, they usually have a transparent typical stamp border, like their real life relatives which makes it easy to differentiate them from avatars or other smaller artworks.

I'm disturbedAm I the only person who got depress after checking out the latest dA poll --> http://poll.deviantart.com/378/ ?I'm disturbed3 years ago in Personal More Like This
For those who don't follow the oh so exiting events of the dA lowest bar, the question was "do you believe in ghosts?" and surprisingly over 10 000 deviants not only believes in ghosts but also claims to have experienced a first hand ghostly encounter.
At which point dA turned into a mental asylum? No seriously, what the fuck is going on here? Ok, I understand that this is an artist community. Artists tend to be very dysfunctional people and in large flocks can derp sanity and logic into oblivion. Never the less this poll caught me off guard.
Note to self: While on deviantArt browse more art ...read less.
PS. I don't know why but some of you are mixing religion into this. All I can ask is, please don't? Some disagreements are fine but as soon as religion topic comes up every discussion turns into a full blown flame war. I should have predicted it because ghosts ar

Addressing Journals as Deviations!I wanted to address the controversy surrounding Journals as Deviations so that we're all on the same page.Addressing Journals as Deviations!3 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
We collected a list of comments from the release article and some journals and here they are, with my responses for all to see.
First, part of being in a community is being understanding. deviantART Staff faces this daily as we understand member concerns and try our best to serve you.
In situations like the one we face right now with Journals, I ask you to be understanding with us as we battle with difficult circumstances balancing the needs of millions of members.
Any change we make creates frustration, but if we do not make changes then we are killed by change itself.
Questions & Answers:
Q: Were people complaining about the old journal system at all? Because I think people were rather happy with it. I know I was. And can't you give people t

Photoshop is a great program, but despite it's many features it's a bit pricy at $999. I created this list for people with smaller wallets and certain art needs.
The programs are listed according to what type of art they are best suited for.
Don't know what program will be best for you? Most of the paid programs have trial versions available, download them and see what you like best.

.:News: Improve your CSS!I wanted to rant. Then I decided to... educate?.:News: Improve your CSS!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
And it's caused by journal skins and how their starting to worry and irritate me a little.
It has always annoyed me to see skins which use very basic CSS (which was probably taken from Icyworlds.net (not that I have anything against the site.)) and then an image they took from google, and then the skin looks... okay. I've also always disliked skins which have very busy backgrounds and so their not legible. And now, I see them getting "myspacey".
We are deviantART. We do things with class, thinking out-of-the-box, blowing the borders and deviously!
So here's some ideas on how to make your skin more interesting, readable, professional and maybe even a little devious. I'm not a know-it-all or anything, but I've made these mistakes many a time before and I think they might be helpful.
Make it readable!
This takes time to get good at, but before finishing a skin, che
Posting online is like dancing in a busy streetBefore you share anything online; be it art, photograph, or commentary, you should sit there and just envision this scenario:Posting online is like dancing in a busy street3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"EVERY PERSON ON THE INTERNET EVER IS GOING TO SEE THIS."
And really picture what people who don't know you, and don't care to know you, would say.
Then prepare yourself for it.
Because as terribly unlikely as that particular scenario is; your DA profile, journal, and gallery are still not your private little getaway of the internet for you and your buddies.
And you never know when something you did or said will be featured somewhere with a much bigger (and louder. and meaner.) audience than you're used to.

FAQ + SallyThe general points I try to leave out for people often get eclipsed by larger journal entries, so I'm going to start putting that first.FAQ + Sally2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Are you REALLY Ian Flynn? The comic guy?
Yes I am. You can check out my website and my body of work at www.BumbleKing.com
Awesome! I love your art in the comics!
That's flattering - but I don't do the art. I'm the writer. I compose the manuscripts the art team uses to produce the book. I've done concept art, though. Some you can find here on dA, some you can find in the graphic novel collections. I'm a decent doodler, but I leave the REAL art to the skilled professionals.
Read my fan-fic! Look at my fan-art! Use my fan-concept!
No, nope, nuh-uh. This would open me up to allegations of intellectual theft. There's a lot of really creative fans out there, and they produce a lot of cool stuff.
Skyrim Mod List -Updated with LINKS-So last time I wrote about Skyrim Mods, I asked for people’s suggestions on what mods to use. I thought it might be fun to list a bunch of the mods I have and provide links to where you can download them all. I’m fairly certain that all the mods I have listed here are also available on Steam if that happens to be your method of playing Skyrim.Skyrim Mod List -Updated with LINKS-9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Guard Dialogue Overhaul http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23390/?
Updates the Guard dialogue to be much more diverse and has them comment more specifically on your accomplishments in the game rather than repeating the same dialogue over and over again.
Flyable Broomsticks http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19069
Adds a crafting recipe and a levitation spell that makes brooms flyable. Be a witch!
Adds footprints for when you run in snow or ash. Makes animals and dragons leave prints as well. Good for hunter immersion.
a rantYou know, I've been rather frustrated with how the whole popularity and "ranking" system works in the brony community. It seems like, from my point of view, you have to meet a fuckton of ridiculous requirements to even think about trying to become popular. Examples are:a rant2 years ago in Personal More Like This
-A lot of porn (I'm looking at you, John Joseco)
-Make songs about VERY SPECIFIC CHARACTERS (you try to make something about Lyra or whatever? GTFO basically)
-Extreme speed in making songs (I'm good at what I do. I'm just slow and have a short attention span, and that seems to fuck me over so badly)
-Get it on EqD (I have a love-hate with Equestria Daily. It's too pro-Trixie, the admins are fucked up pieces of shit, especially Sethisto, etc. I mean, some of the site is respectable, and I gotta thank them for featuring Want it Need it Fury, but give me a break)
-VECTORS. I FUCKING SWEAR TO GOD, THIS IS LIKE, THE LOWEST OF THE LOW.
-Youtube Poop (Also a way to stoop really low)
This is unforgivable. T
A Couple of ExplanationsIn this tumultuous time of the comics, passions are running high. That's a good thing. I didn't set out to violently shake-up the status quo thinking it'd go over perfectly fine with everyone. I set out to upset and to unnerve, and thus far it's looks like I've succeeded. (Some folks out there are already guessing in the ballpark of my long-term plans, but you can only fool some of the people some of the time)A Couple of Explanations3 years ago in Personal More Like This
As upset as some readers are - and rightfully so - I will not tolerate a total lack of class. I've had folks contact me individually who've voiced their concern, even their anger, in clear terms without resorting to foul language and physical threats. Anger does not excuse such childishness. So if you can't make your point without without devolving into profanity, I'm hiding your comment. I'll read, it I'll keep it accessible so your point will remain, but I'm not cluttering up my front page w
