Dominion ch 1
I hate sunlight. I always have. It's way too bright and burns my eyes, especially on cloudless days like these. Strands of my shoulder-length thick black hair fall over my eyes. It helps some, but it not quite enough. I hiss at it as I push my pitch-dark sunglasses over my sockets that leave me almost totally blind as I sit in the passenger seat of my mother's Mercedes. My head rests lazily against the glass of the car door window, acting as if asleep as Mom drives me to school.
This town is like a regular rainforest. Being smack in the middle of the forest, the town is filled with mile-high trees and dozens of other exotic plants you could only see in a rainforest. A regular nature-lover's paradise.
In about five minutes, we finally make it to my two-story institute-looking school. I would know all about institutes.
My mother gently nudges my shoulder with her fingers, trying to wake me as if I was asleep, which I'm not, but with the pitch-black glasses, who could tell the difference?

1. Never say "I'll be right back." Saying so is a mark for death.
2. Whenever someone leaves, never tell them to "be careful." (an extension of #1)
3. If the killer's identity is a mystery, it is never the obvious suspect.
4. Never be alone, especially in a dark/isolated area.
5. There is at least 1 or more "Janet Leigh" characters.
6. If the killer has any dialogue, it is even more disturbing, even perverted if possible.
7. The kills are rarely instantaneous; it takes a lot for the victims to actually die. The killer may even torture their victims.
8. Just because someone is down does not mean that they are dead.
9. Any "strange noises" are usually innocent, being an animal, the wind, or another character, etcetera.
10. Victims can be hit anywhere in the body; guys will typically receive damage to the privates in some way.
11. The defeat of the killer will typically be a girl. If not a girl then it will be a team effort, being a boy and a girl, but it is

I guess I'm still a little weirded out about last night. Not just Lucy sleepwalking, but that wolf; it seems so familiar to me. My fingers twirl my silver cross necklace while I become lost in my thoughts.
"Woohoo! Mi-na?" I get snapped out of my daze by my boyfriend John. I blink and look into his baby blue eyes. He looks so cute with his curly brown hair and his pink lips pulled across his face in a dimply smile that i quickly kiss them.
"Sorry, I'm just a little weirded out about last night."
"Why?" he asks, "What happened?"
"Lucy was sleepwalking and she walked straight into the forest."
"Jeez, that's pretty freaky."
just as he says that, Lucy walks over and sits across the cafeteria table from me and John.
"Hey guys." she greets us as she takes her seat.
"Hey Lucy," John says, "I heard you were walking in your sleep last night."
"Walkin' in your sleep, were ya?" Quince, Lucy's guy-friend who wishes he were her real boyfriend, says, his voice thick with his Texan accent,

"Having fun girls?" I ask my sister and her companions. We stand in the center of the cafeteria, keeping ourselves cloaked from human eyes so no one can watch us as we talk.
"Yes," answers Veronica, the light-brownheaded one, "So much."
"But where were you?" asks Madaleine, the goldenhaired one, "You missed a most delectable crowd."
"I see enough of them during class." I reply bitterly.
"If you hate it here so much," my sister Esmerelda says, "then why must we stay here? You know it is not neccessary for us to be here in these schools."
"You know why!" I snap.
"Well I've already found myself a tasty little treat." Esmerelda says, smiling brightly.
"Ooh yes," Veronica says, "I saw her. She's quite lovely. I wonder how she tastes."
"She smells sweet," Esmerelda responds, "Definitely a virgin."
"Mmm," Madeleine purrs, licking her lips, "Combien il est doux."
I leave them to their prattling and transport myself to my next class, just as the bell is about to ring, so that I do not ha

I barely make it to my forth period class after lunch in time for the bell. The bell goes off just as I walk through the door and the teacher, Mister Kevin, remarks with his usual perkky smile, "Photo finish, eh Miss Murray?"
"Yeah, I guess so." I respond quickly and rush to my seat in the back corner of the room.
The classroom is filled with five rows of tables, two in each row, that are long enough to seat three. I'm the only person who sits at my table.
I twirl my necklace between my fingers while Mister Kevin lectures on about the War of 1812 while writing notes on the whiteboard. I jot down as many as I can before he erases them to make new ones.
The sudden greeting from the seat next to me surprises me so bad I nearly jump right out of my chair and I drop my pencil. I reach down to pick it up, but a pale hand with skiinny fingers and nails at least half an inch long offers it to me. I look into the face of the person who surprised me.
It's a boy, make that a

I get woken up by Mom calling for my younger sister Lucy. I look over at my alarm clock. It's glowing digital blu numbers read 3:03 a.m. I get up from my bed, rubbing my eyes, and go out into the hall where I see Mom run out of Lucy's room, which is right next to mine.
"What's wrong with Lucy?" I ask.
"She's not in her bed!" she answers frantically, "I don't know where she is!"
I look inside Lucy's room. The blue sheets are dragged across the floor from the mattress. I rush to the window that overlooks the backyard. There I see Lucy, slowly walking towards the trees of the forest.
I run down the hallway to the top of the stairs and yell down to Mom, who's already dialing the phone, "Mom, I found Lucy!"
"Oh thank Godd," she sighs as she slams the phone back on the receiver, "Where is she?"
"She's outside," I answer quickly as I rush down the stairs, slip on a jacket, and go out the front door, "I'll get her."
"Mina!" My mother yells out to me, but I ignore

The boy looked back up to the powerful clouds to see another flash of lightning resonating from inside, then a tiny droplet landed on his cheek. Then another. And then a whole torrent of rain poured down in buckets. The boy leaned his head back, allowing the rain to shower his dirty face, his mouth opened with his tongue hanging over his chin to catch he nickel-sized rain drops. He needed to find shelter, he decided as he shook his grungy blonde hair like a wet dog. As much as he loved the rain, and he did very much, it wouldn't be worth catching pneumonia. He pulled his hood over his drenched head and continued walking along the highway, looking all around through the rain for some place to shelter himself in for the rest of the night, but there was nothing. Just dirt and cactus.
A light began to shine over the road. He turned his head back to see a pair of headlights speeding closer and closer his way. The boy moved over to the edge of the road and held up his thumb in the classic hi

After school, I usually take the bus. But today I ditch the bus full of screams and B.O. and decide to walk. It's a somewhat long travel from school to home, but I need to see what happened to Kevin today. It's unlike him to miss a day of school. Even on sick days, appointments, whatever, nothing would allow him to break his perfect attendance. So today, I decide to walk by his house to see why he was gone today.
His house is about four blocks away from the school house. I go around the back so I can view in through the backyard, where sure enough, that's just where he is. Kevin's is fairly big, at least compared to most of the dirt boxes around this town. Two stories and a lush, green, fenced in backyard with trimmed hedges, almost Home & Gardens Magazine-worthy.
Kevin is sitting on the edge of the hammock stuck in the ground about a yard away from the patio with the lawn chairs and a barbecue grill, his feet planted in the grass. He sits hunched over with his head held and a glum loo
NiGHTMARE chapter 16After her incident in the bathroom, Nancy had gone to the nurse's office to get her head cleaned up and bandaged it with a band-aid, saying that she had merely tripped and hit her head on the corner of a table. Because of her reaction in class, Mr. Gryffon allowed her the chance to complete the assignment via research instead of actual dissection. So Nancy took a couple books home from the school library and spent the next several hours after returning home writing up an extremely detailed report as long as her arm. Not that she needed to get overly detailed or anything, she just wanted to spend as much time as possible on it. She would have just looked it all up on the internet, but unfortunately for her their computer was busted. Once she had completed her paper, she spent the rest of her time busying herself with all kinds of menial tasks. Washing dishes, straightening and re-straightening her room, laundry (even though all her clothes were already clean), even counting all the marbNiGHTMARE chapter 161 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
