Another conceptual design/model sheet for the Theos animation project. This fella is actually not some hulking mecha someone rides in it's a bio-mechanical entity closer to a cyborg in some ways but still something quite different. It’s the same race of creature that the little mech in the IO Diner piece is from. These guys are combat machine for a future not really Germany nation called Germane. Clearly I had fun with some WWII aesthetics and cammo patterns but unlike the Sfikas these guys are cell shaded with heavy weathering which is the direction all future designs for this project will head. The hats have a locking snap which can unlock if combat is imminent as the hats are only for formal dress and rank. You can't go around fighting with a hat in your mechanical eye, no? Much of these designs will probably get tweaked even further once we're ready to pitch this show, there's plenty of time as we're in the middle of working on another show project for an ad company in Arizona.

Otherwise known as: 清蓝山之暮

A drawing to end the 2011 year.

I drew influences from Chinese cities, Mamoru Oshii, and Heng Sha city from Deus Ex: HR. I wanted this drawing to contain social inequity in the architectural sense. From the bottom, the houses appear as if they're remnants of the last century, where the poor people live in poverty. Then you have the cityscape where the middle class lives. After that you got the advanced skyscraper/military complex where the elite and government lives, away from the suffering at the bottom. Yet, the poor people are enveloped in culture, while the elite lives with no knowledge of their humble beginnings.

清蓝山 is a stronghold which contains a high grade military fortress at the top of the city, which houses almost 100 Crafts, with missile pods and cannons to repel terrorists and radical military groups.

I will also integrate this city, and the Chinese culture into my story. It will be a fictitious city of course, but I want the culture represented, just as I want Islam, Christianity, American, Russian, and African cultures to be in the story. The Windrider story is not just about mechs. It's about globalization and religious fundamentalism, and how technologically advanced weaponry and capitalism will combine with these factors to destroy the world.

The theme is also partly to make a comment on China as a whole. This summer I went back and what I saw was "The ruins of the future stood in the glory of the past". I've been in Canada for 11 years and people keep telling me "Oh China is so rich now", and what I say to that is BULLSHIT. China may have beautiful architecture and rich people in the cities, but most people still live in poverty. Tourists stick to the rich areas and rarely venture to poor districts to see how real people live.

.....Yet, the nightlights still shine in my heart. I miss it dearly.

DRIVE D (Dash) : menaikan kecepatan noizu hingga tingkat tertentu
DRIVE E (Excalibur) : mengeluarkan pedang mechanic yang sanag kuat dan bermata laser
DRIVE F (Firewall) : mencipatakan barrier honeycomb bersuhu tinggu untuk melindingi sekaligus memberikan counter
DRIVE G (Gun Cannon/Gatling Raid) : megeluarkan senapan mesin dan cannon dikedua tangannya. bila dikompress, bs mengeluarkan pistol kecil
Drive H (Hurricane Hold) : mengeluarkan illlusi yang menggangu pandangan dan konsentrasi lawan, terlebih kalau lawan berupa robot

Suddenly thought about making a "gundam girl" out of one of my favorite HGUC models. Im satisfied with the result.

Next we have the rest of the DGG series since they might not make in the upcoming SRW OG Gaiden PS2 title, so I use them:

Left: DGG-XAM3 "DaiRaioh"(Great Thunder King) a close melee unit which uses RAIO system-that increase the user's adrenalin to the max for more powerful combat capacity. About the pilot, I'll let you know later...

Right: DGG-XAM4 "Trinitrotoluene "(TNT for short) a close melee/ECM unit which also uses RAIO system and she is meant to be fast and hit-and-run tactics. To increase mobility, her armors are scale down and she has less endurances compared to the DaiRaioh.
They always mentioned about the 4th DGG unit but never able to materialise it, which is why I come up with my own...

Remember these words "Oculus Gladius Scutum"? Well, these words are basically my title for my own OGS story and the full title should be "SRWGS"(Strategic Retaliation Warfare: Oculus Gladius Scutum)
Alright, here goes: I'm planning to showcase my very own OGS designs because I find most of the designs in SRW are too disorganised and each designs differed from one another, what a mess! Here are my first line of OGS showcase which is the always bigger-than-life DGG series:

Left: DGG-XAM1 DaiZangar (Big Slasher Fang)-First unit with extra armors for tougher endurance since Zengar Sombolt is such a thickhead(he won't dodges when you threw a punch at him) After some discussion with my mecha friends, we come to a conclusion that the Zankatou is totally useless therefore, I switched to a more conventional katana. (Why no Zankatou? I'll tell you later)

Right: DGG-XAM2 Aubenseiter-Second unit to act as long range support for the DaiZangar and provide better mobility by transforming into a mobile horse unit to carry the DaiZangar. Ratsel Feinsmacher@Elzam V. Branstein is the pilot for this gear.
